On our way home from visiting my Parents, the beasties and I decided to check out the recently opened Salt Bakery. It is located a little ways from Fullybooked Katipunan and ia next to the new paper shop Common Room. The place is very small and can fit 10 people comfortably. They share the shop with a vegetarian diner. The Salt Bakery serves really interesting desserts. The beasties and I got to try put two of their cakes. Garth Vader, a very delicious Peanut butter cake that ia silky, crunchy and fluffy the taste reminds me a lot of Reeses' peanut butter cups. I loved the look and the feel of this cake, it was not sweet, you will not get tired of this cake since the force is strong within it. The Tosi, butterscotch center wrapped in butter cream along with ultra sweet cracked pie. This is best served with hot black coffee. The beasties and I agree that we prefered Garth Vander. Cake prices ranges from 125-140php. Not bad.huh. The kids and I will definately trying out the other cakes in the future.

Going to the Salt Bakery is always a quiet experience. Because not a lot of people really stay and dine-in, it's actually a quaint place to enjoy a slice of cake.I've only really ordered two items form their menu - TOSI and the Salted Egg Custard Cupcake.I had high hopes for the TOSI cake. It's description on the menu boasted of a milky layer cake. To a certain level, the cake was actually good. Its cakey layers were moist and tender; the ratio of frosting and cake was just right; the layers were nice and even (picturesque actually). It's definitely an instagram-able dessert. It was just a tad too sweet, especially the butterscotch layer in the middle. At some point, I found that eating the cake gave me that umay feeling so I had to have them wrap what was left of my TOSI slice so it wouldn't go to waste.Perhaps the most notable item on their menu is the Salted Egg Cutsard Cupake. The play on salty and sweet is definitely the talking point of this dessert. I love the creativity that went into this dessert! For a turned up dessert, it has a surprisingly humble look. Not as instagramm-able as TOSI, but flavorwise, it can stand up to any cupcake from all the other cupcake shops out there. The cupcake itself is soft and surprisingly dense. Make sure you ask them to heat it up before you eat it! One bite and the custard at the center oozes out delightfully.

This tiny dessert place located in 125 F. dela Rosa St. Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City... was featured in Yummy Magazine for their desserts. The place is not that big but has a homey kinda feel to it. Wooden furnishings add a nostalgic ambiance. Lighting is ok... but parking at the sidestreets could be a problem. I tasted two of their "bestest" desserts... the Tosi cake (yellow cake, crack pie, and buttercream) and the Salted Egg Custard Cupcake (a Yummy Magazine top dessert). The Tosi cake had a sweet buttery taste to it. The cake base was moist and firm. I like my cakes on the sweet side so I truly enjoyed this cake. The Salted egg custard cupcake is a refreshing take at custard cupcakes. Biting into this moist sweet yellow cupcake goodie would reveal a subtle but distinguishable salted egg taste towards the end. And yes the combo of the sweet custard and the salted egg taste works amazingly delicious.Small but terribly delicious best describes this cafe!!!

Ambiance - The place is really small. It is designed for to-go desserts and cakes. Also, Go! Salads is at the same outlet.Service - Excellent! Very warm staff and fast service.Food - I always order their Lava Cookies. SUCH A TASTE OF HEAVEN -- cookies and cupcake in one.

My family and I love this place so much! When we went he the staff were very accommodating and nice. We ordered cups of tea, Tosi, and Half-Baked.My personal favorite was Half-Baked because it's cookie dough cake and was not too sweet! It was delicious and one bite takes you to heaven. The Tosi, which is their specialty, didn't disappoint. It's uncommon and delicious! If you wanna satisfy your sweet tooth and eat in peace, visit Salt!
