Banawe is a bustling, modern-day Chinatown filled with Chinese restaurants in almost every corner. One such example (although not specifically located in Banawe, but rather in Retiro— the street perpendicular to it) is Sa Lido.Sa Lido is the original Lido branch from Binondo that specializes in asado— Chinese-style roasted pork. Their dishes may not be extravagant and Instagrammable, but they do carry an old charm that takes me back to my childhood.🍲 Three Cup Chicken (₱310 small, ₱620 large): features an earthen pot filled with chicken that was slow-cooked in 3 sauces (hence the name 3 cup)—soy sauce, rice wine and sesame oil— along with tons of garlic and ginger as aromatics. Each bite of chicken is flavorful and savory, with some nuances of earthiness from the basil and coriander.🐷 Asado (₱270 small, ₱1,080 large): a bestseller featuring thin slices of smoky, lean pork that is more salty than sweet compared to the red asados I've tried. Comes with a sweet and sour sauce to cut across meaty flavors.🍝 Sate Chami (₱198 small, ₱420 large): stir-fried thick noodles, pork and a medley of vegetables cooked in a nutty and savory sauce. Not too salty, but tasty enough on its own.🍚 Chorizo Rice (₱215 small, ₱480 large): fried rice filled with bites of scrambled egg, spring onions and sweet-salty slices of Chinese sausage. A great accompaniment to viands like their asado.🐷 Kingdao Spareribs (₱195 small, ₱440 large): a take on sweet and sour sauce, but more on the savory side. Bites of pork were soft— both lean and fatty, which was good, but watch out for the bones.🌿 Spinach Seafood Soup (₱100 per bowl, ₱195 small, ₱430 large): a rich green soup filled with bite-sized shrimp, tofu and egg. Very subtle flavors, yet hearty nonetheless. Thanks for the invite website! ❤️👋🏻 Flatlay by Glenn Joseph | Jogpen and James Benguet

Typical Chinese grub. Ordered sweet and sour fiah fillet, broccoli with garlic, fried chicken and yang chow fried rice. Tummy filling, but still typical.

The food is great at really affordable prices. It's conveniently right next to Starbucks. The A/C really needs to be fixed as it can be rather hot and humid during noon.

My meal experience with them.A. Welcoming and taking of orders. The guard on duty was alert and welcome us, then the service staff wearing T-Shirt approached and took our orders, he was polite and knowledgeable. I hope they can improve abd provide them good uniform.B. Serving of food.We tasted their Asado rice, Tapsilog, beancurd roll and chicken feet. The food needs to be checked. The asado tastes bad, the Tapa was ok, the coloring of the chicken feet was too red, the beancurd roll was too small but the rice were up to par, it was delicious. The brewed coffee was good.C. Ambiance and the restroom. The location of the resto was nice though they have limited parking space. The dining room has poor exhaust system but the generic restroom was clean. That is why when we left the place, our clothes smells kitchen.D. Billing. The billing was ok, prices of food was reasonable but I have noticed that they did not issue receipt after paying.Notes:It is not really something which you would want to come back. I hope that they can improved the food and facilities because they have created a good name in the past.

Service was good but not great. We felt that the staffs are not welcoming at all.Food was fairly good but not superb. A typical Chinese dish taste. Nothing really special.Serving was a bit disappointing. We thought it would be big serving. We, specially the children love the Lumpiang shanghai the best.Value for money is Great. Its very affordable although it would be better if they have other payment options like Credit card

Food - not bad for the price and servings, typical Chinese restoService - it was good experience for us. At first you will feel like they are being sarcastic but they are actually good and concern about your order. We are arguing if we will order small or large yang chow rice and yet the waitress told us don't order large because the small will suffice for the 4 of us even for the dishes. So it was a really good advice for usPrice - very affordable and generous servingsPlace - not bad and they can still improve the place

For the nth time, I'm not really a fan of Chinese food. But compared to other Chinese restaurants, this is what I liked best. They have great value for food and their serving were huge. Plus, my mom really liked it.

Tried their Asado Rice toppings (P170), Lechon Kawali Rice (P170) and Salt and pepper squid (P260). Asado rice was not the expected sweet roasted taste style. Just the slice cut of the pork. It was okay. Partner did not appreciate the presentation of the lechon kawali rice. Maybe if they separated the sauce/veggies to the lechon kawali, the letter will retain the crunchy skin part and not gonna be soggy. Almost taste the same with my asado, just different cut of pork. Salt and pepper squid was well seasoned. Just that it was too thin and pricey for such.Parking was ample. This was why we dined here in the first place. Servers (and the guard outside) were nice.Sending my best regards

Like Ongpin, Banawe is a place with a very Chinese vibes. I'm not sure, but as per my observation. The Chinese population here were very dominant. One thing I really appreciate with the Chinese cuisine was the flavor. It always has a dominant herby/earthy taste and one good example was the spinach seafood soup that I really appreciate. Another favorite was the tender pork asado and the kingdao spareribs.Spinach Seafood Soup – Php100/cup | Php195/small | Php430/largeChorizo Fried Rice – Php215/small | Php480/large3 Cups Chicken – Php310/small | Php620/largeSate Chami – Php198/small | Php420/largeAsado – Php270/small | Php1080/largeKingdao Spareribs – Php195/small | Php440/largeMango Sago – Php80📍 Location: 101 N.S Amoranto Corner Speaker Perez Street, Santa Mesa Heights, Banawe, Quezon City
