Banawe is a bustling, modern-day Chinatown filled with Chinese restaurants in almost every corner. One such example (although not specifically located in Banawe, but rather in Retiro— the street perpendicular to it) is Sa Lido.Sa Lido is the original Lido branch from Binondo that specializes in asado— Chinese-style roasted pork. Their dishes may not be extravagant and Instagrammable, but they do carry an old charm that takes me back to my childhood.🍲 Three Cup Chicken (₱310 small, ₱620 large): features an earthen pot filled with chicken that was slow-cooked in 3 sauces (hence the name 3 cup)—soy sauce, rice wine and sesame oil— along with tons of garlic and ginger as aromatics. Each bite of chicken is flavorful and savory, with some nuances of earthiness from the basil and coriander.🐷 Asado (₱270 small, ₱1,080 large): a bestseller featuring thin slices of smoky, lean pork that is more salty than sweet compared to the red asados I've tried. Comes with a sweet and sour sauce to cut across meaty flavors.🍝 Sate Chami (₱198 small, ₱420 large): stir-fried thick noodles, pork and a medley of vegetables cooked in a nutty and savory sauce. Not too salty, but tasty enough on its own.🍚 Chorizo Rice (₱215 small, ₱480 large): fried rice filled with bites of scrambled egg, spring onions and sweet-salty slices of Chinese sausage. A great accompaniment to viands like their asado.🐷 Kingdao Spareribs (₱195 small, ₱440 large): a take on sweet and sour sauce, but more on the savory side. Bites of pork were soft— both lean and fatty, which was good, but watch out for the bones.🌿 Spinach Seafood Soup (₱100 per bowl, ₱195 small, ₱430 large): a rich green soup filled with bite-sized shrimp, tofu and egg. Very subtle flavors, yet hearty nonetheless. Thanks for the invite website! ❤️👋🏻 Flatlay by Glenn Joseph | Jogpen and James Benguet

I am really not a fan of chinese food but i love their Hongma and Cuapao! Oh my gooosh! Heaven! i really love the texture that feels like it melts in my mouth when i chew it.With regards to the price, not bad.

Typical Chinese grub. Ordered sweet and sour fiah fillet, broccoli with garlic, fried chicken and yang chow fried rice. Tummy filling, but still typical.

The food is great at really affordable prices. It's conveniently right next to Starbucks. The A/C really needs to be fixed as it can be rather hot and humid during noon.

My meal experience with them.A. Welcoming and taking of orders. The guard on duty was alert and welcome us, then the service staff wearing T-Shirt approached and took our orders, he was polite and knowledgeable. I hope they can improve abd provide them good uniform.B. Serving of food.We tasted their Asado rice, Tapsilog, beancurd roll and chicken feet. The food needs to be checked. The asado tastes bad, the Tapa was ok, the coloring of the chicken feet was too red, the beancurd roll was too small but the rice were up to par, it was delicious. The brewed coffee was good.C. Ambiance and the restroom. The location of the resto was nice though they have limited parking space. The dining room has poor exhaust system but the generic restroom was clean. That is why when we left the place, our clothes smells kitchen.D. Billing. The billing was ok, prices of food was reasonable but I have noticed that they did not issue receipt after paying.Notes:It is not really something which you would want to come back. I hope that they can improved the food and facilities because they have created a good name in the past.
