It was my first time to dine at Rufo's (UPAD, Vito Cruz) with my classmates. hehe. I'm not really a fan of tapa so eating at Rufo's never crossed my mind. As a first timer, I ordered their specialty, their Famous Tapa, salted egg and orange juice... And God, does their tapa taste good! And really affordable! It isn't like the regular tapa i get to taste at home or at other restaurants. Its my kind of tender, its saucy (well too much sauce i guess) and malasa. :) I got my sister to try it too once i got hold of the info that they have a branch at tomas morato, a branch closer to my home. :)) Would definitely go back to taste their other dishes.

Aside from their famous tapa, I also tried their Adobong Manok and beef steak. Their beef steak is quite similar with their tapa, what makes it distinct is the crisp, sharp flavor of the onions. The chicken adobo is very Filipino in taste (panslasang pinoy). It's tangy and salty, right blend of soy and vinegar. It's cut in 4 small-medium chicken cuts. Price is worth the serving proportion. Great for late night or after inuman grub.

Ordered sizzling sisig, never expected that I'dget sizzling onions with ground pork. Super disappointed. And their iced tea is so watered down. I should've ordered tapa instead :(

What I like about this place is that they have a very affordable price for their dishes. I tried their Famous Tapa, it's good. Good place to go after your gimmick with your friends. Would definitely go back here

Been at Rufo's during circa 2008 and I attest that their famous Tapa were the best then. After few years, I was expecting more of the same Tapa I had, but I was disappointed. It wasn't tender, even though it was cut into bite-sizes, I still had a diffuculty chewing it. The service was also poor. May this be a wake-up call in Tomas Morato branch.
