Being on a budget leaves very few options when dining at UP Town Center. Probably the only place where 100 pesos would cover a rice meal that includes soup and a large cup of rice. Comfort food go-to.

When in UP Diliman, Rodic’s diner is our go-to place. The tapa we recently determined to be carabao’s meat is truly remarkable. The taste is distinct and good with vinegar or ketchup. It really is something you will come back for.We also tried their spaghetti which is quite meaty and Filipino-tasting.The Eatventurers

Rodics Diner is a name that conjures good, old college memories.During our college days at UP Diliman, my friends and I would treat ourselves to a Rodics tapsilog after exams or a major project. Back then, that simple meal was already a satisfying treat for us. The tapsilog was not even what you would consider haute cuisine -- it consisted mainly of thin shavings of beef and a sunny side up fried egg over garlic fried rice. It tasted good, best paired with spicy vinegar to balance the saltiness-richness of the tapa. It was cheap but for young college students, that was already great reward for hard work.

I go here whenever I crave for Tapsilog. Its the only place near UP that serves the kind of Tapsilog taste I wanted.. I even treated my mom here and she likes it.. Serving is big too so if your really in it for a yummy and full tapsi experience, visit this place 😊

You can never go wrong with their signature Tapsilog! I can't count how many times I caught myself craving for Rodic's. Just imagining pouring the generous amounts of vinegar over the bed of rice is making my mouth water. Eat at the Shopping Center in UPD for a more authentic Rodic's experience. (You also get it cheaper at UPD! Whereas UPTC has it at 99 and the one near Mira Nila is at 95, the tapsi here is only 85.)

The only thing I tried on their menu was their famous tapsilog. It was very affordable, and delicious. One serving isn't enough for me. It's perfect for students. The place is small, you would wanna finish your meal fast to break away from the crowd of hungry students.

One of my go-to places back in college. I love their tapsilog - can't remember ordering other dish at Rodic's aside from that ever. So when my friend and I visited UP last month, we had lunch there. Of course, I had the Tapsilog while my friend had menudo. Happy to say that it still tastes the same. And I think there's more serving of rice than before. Seats there are limited - it's better to leave as soon as you finish to give way to other diners.

I am taking my masters degree in UPOU and Diliman is.my Learning Center. One final exam, I wanted to try and see what UPD has in store for me. I searched for places that UP students frequent and I came across this diner in UP shopping center. They say, one could not possibly graduate UP without eating at this place. There are different Filipino food that you can order here but the most famous is the tapsilog so I decided to try it. Servings is really big for one with the tapa and egg on top of the rice. Price is affordable as well. However, there are other tapsilog that I have eaten that tasted better.

First of all, tapa in Rodic's tastes sweet. Place is small but manageable depending on the time. Rodic's also offers a variety of viand to choose from.

Rodic's tapsilog has a distinct taste easily recognizable for patrons who frequent this place. It's not extraordinary—just kinda-fried rice topped with beef shavings and egg—but if you're a student who had underwent a disastrous final exam, then this meal is a saving grace. Add the unlimited supply of ice and water, Rodic's is every frugal student's piece of heaven.I was a fan of their tapsilog until I became a pescetarian. Last month, my friends and I decided to revisit this place. The only pescetarian-friendly meal was their tuna sisig. I ordered it and had the biggest disappointment in my life. I can't identify if it was sisig or an onion mush with bits of what looked like fish.It seems like it would be safe for red meat consumers to just settle for tapsilog. Just tapsilog.
