Pepper Lunch is a "fast steak" restaurant concept that originated in Japan in 1994. They opened their first branch in Power Plant sometime in 2008.I don't know why it took me so long to write this review but anyway, I'll make it short and sweet.Their dishes are served over a fancy patented electromagnetic plate. The plate, as they say, is heated up to 260 degrees Celsius which cooks the food in just one minute or less. Though in my case, it always took me more than a minute to fully cook the meat slices on the sizzling plate.Their beef cuts are flavorful. The chicken and seafood pieces need a little seasoning in my opinion. Though I have to admit that their honey brown sauce is really delicious. Pour it over your rice or meat for that additional 'umami' taste. Serving portion is okay. Price is also pocket friendly.Overall, I'd say Pepper Lunch is not half bad. I mean, it's one of those dishes that I don't get a great hangover from. (If you know what I mean.) It's not something I'd be craving for in the next couple of weeks or even months. But if you decide to go there, I'd strongly recommend their Beef Pepper Rice. Thinly sliced beef plus a hefty serving of their signature Pepper® rice all for just Php215.

This branch will always be memorable to me. This is where my husband (then bestfriend) has our first "unofficial" date. :) So whenever we're around the area, this is where we eat.Food: We just love the Beef Pepper rice. It's fun to eat, it's like cooking your own meal. It's tender, it's flavorful and the sauces are perfect.Service: They serve fast, the staff are also friendly and patient in explaining the process.Place: They have lots of seats available and the place is spacious. every table has it's own exhaust.

Pepper Lunch = Beef Pepper Rice!If its your first time here, i suggest you try Beef Pepper Rice. Warning, your first bite is sizzling hot! haha. Their plate is way different from other sizzling restaurants around Manila. Your food will be hot/warm till your last bite. I have tried several meal on their menu but, it's just not working for me, especially their Lechon Pepper Rice. This is my least favorite. I also tried their yakiniku but I find it salty.

The place never fail to impress me with the taste and quality of food they provide. Although they may have been consistent with their not sooo good service, I would just have to brush it off (not think about it) & crave for their sumptuous wide range menu. I will definifely be back!

Ate here yesterday and ordered the beef pepper rice with an egg and additional cheese. It took a while for the food to get to me. I also expected a bit more cheese (for Php 40). Flavor was fine after I added some soy sauce and sriracha.

(3.5/5) I do see now why many of my coworkers rave about this place. As Filipinos, we love our heaps of rice so much. Pair that with sizzling meat and pour-all-you-want sauce and you have dishes that will make it to the heart of many who eat. I see as well why many 'hate' pepper lunch. It's so easy to think the food is one-dimensional on your first try, and even stale, if you had no idea you had to be liberal with the sauce. And if your dish is 80% rice, even tho it's sizzling, it should not have a to cost a fortune.Good job, Pepper Lunch. Keep the stellar customer service, but also put in more for the dishes. :)

Note to self: Do not order that tuna salad again. The service in this branch is ok 👌 The food, just like in other branches, I can rate 4/5; except the tuna salad 1/5.

I have tried Pepper Lunch in Japan and I love it for it's super yummy meats on their sizzling plate. I am glad they brought it here in Manila.(F)ood:Love the simplest item in the menu, Beef Pepper Rice. I also tried The Big One and Tokusen Ribeye steak. Pure bliss of beefy goodness. For now, if I am not on a spending spree, I just order the BBQ Beef & Hamburg which are equally delicious. Love the meat(A)mbience:The place is a typical restaurant. All neat and tidy but I wish they had some exhaust fans for the sizzling food. But nonetheless, the food is worth coming back to care less for the ambience.(B)utler Service:The food came out fast and they were attentive enough to provide our requests.

I love sizzling meats with rice, and Pepper Lunch is one of my faves! Hot steamed rice with margarine, corn and pepper seasoning, and tender beef strips charing on the hot plate. Pour in some garlic steak sauce and you have one delish plate. Will try the steak next time, for a change. And what a huge omelette! They didn't skimp on the mozzarella. Yum.Not a fan of the side dish soup of the day though.. Cream of mushroom made from the freshest Knorr. 😂
