I'm a big pares fan. Been eating since the 90's in Maceda & Retiro. You know the big pot boiling in the middle.. non-stop long lines to get a seat.. This place is different & looks nice, the seats at the counter are well spaced apart.. you won't be rubbing elbows with anyone. But now to the food.. i had Camto rice 4/5 stars & pares 2/5 stars. The camto was good, fatty beef in very hot broth. Delicious! This place is not the original Pares Retiro and the pares is far from it.. Cold beef. The broth I'm pretty sure was hot water and beef cubes. So if you're looking for the real deal pares joint this is not the place, but if you're down for a great Camto can't go wrong here.

Pares with egg pa lang ang sarap na! Eh pano pa kaya kung dagdagan ng Lumpia/Siomai o kaya yung pang malakasang heaven na Sisig!? Di ka tala mapaparetiro dito kumain! As usual, Solve ang tropa! 😁

The Pares was too sweet for my taste, their food offerings were generally flavor packed though. A bit too much for the price for what you’ll get. Will just eat here if I don’t have any place to go to.

Too bad that their pares wasnt as good as it shouldve been, given that its their specialty. It totally lacked the taste of star anis and it was depressing. We also ordered the pansit pares and it was like, stand alone pansit and hinaluan lang ng pares sauce and some bits of the pares meat. :-( The siomai also was like siomai that was made at home and made by someone who just learned to cook. The serving was also too little given the price. The music was also annoying as their sound commercial came up every now and then. I get its their way of promoting the place but damn, it further ruined the experience. The servers also never smiled, said hello or even thank you.Not going back to that place ever!

I got the big baby meal 3 coz it looked like there was a lot. Sadly, the serving of the beef pares was small and it was mostly fat so I wasn't able to eat much. Good thing that there was also the lumpia shanghai so I didn't really go home hungry. Nothing special about the food, it wasn't that bad either.

I don’t know if this branch has anything to do with the Original Pares House in NS Amoranto (La Lima/Retiro) but judging from the taste it isn’t. If you’ve been to the real Retiro, then this place will not be on par. I’m not saying I’m the food is bad. It’s still good pares and better than other places in the city.

The special beef pares was hearty, flavorful and fairly priced, best of all, the extra lotong is available upon request and is free! I'll definitely visit again once if I'm in the area.

This place is pretty well known for its pares, so I was excited to try it as there is a dearth of good pares places nowadays.Expect to spend around P 150 or less, depending on combo meal that you select. This evening we all chose the Pares with egg combo, and sisig on the side.I found the pares really good, although my companions were considerably less enthusiastic. The sauce is nice and thick, beef tender and serving generous. There is a hint of Chinese 5-spice or anise (this is the flavor that threw my companions off). Although I barely noticed it - and when I did, I liked it a lot. I find the flavors simple but balanced. The egg was done absolutely well. Those of us that ordered runny eggs served over easy got exactly that: an egg that could hold up on its own but deliciously soft and perfectly runny. We also ordered one combo that had scrambled eggs, and it was perfectly fluffy. The sisig was just okay- nothing special. Not bad either. For P 169, it can serve 3, easy.Service was excellent. Our server's name was Gabriel and he was really responsive and proactive at times. His service was worthy of more established restaurants. We had a great experience with him as a server.Do not expect first rate amenities - parking is scarce, place is open and the restroom is slippery.Come for the pares, though, and see if it is to your liking.

Mediocre food & service, place was old and not well maintained, dim lights and a very busy atmosphere.. still people go here for the classic pares cravings.. but everything is just mediocre (imo). Nothing special about their pares, I'll still choose Partners Pares and Mami House over them.
