My partner's craving for tonkatsu led us to Moshi Koshi Noodle Boss. There's no tonkatsu specialty resto near us so we settled here. It was around 4 in the afternoon and we were the only customers. You get it, we had the entire resto all to ourselves. The ambience is clean and well-lit, sort of Japanese minimalist style. I fancy paper placemats, making sure I get one in any resto I've been and put it in my corkboard. Moshi Koshi has an educational one! They've got a Quick Guide to Happy Urban which includes Diner Dictionary. It kept me entertained and educated while waiting for our food.My partner ordered tonkatsu and I've got ebi tempura. It is a complete set meal with rice, miso soup and sidings. Unlike Yabu (House of Katsu) who has Katsu Ritual (grind, pour, mix, dip), there's no ritual here. No fun, eh? First things first, I've tried the miso soup, a traditional Japanese soup consisting of seafood based stock and miso paste. It was heaven! While my partner was busy taking pictures (shoot first, eat later), I got lost somewhere between the tofu and the savory flavor. How come our Sinigang sa miso at home doesn't taste like this? Haha. We had Agedashi Tofu, a cubed, breaded and deep-fried tofu with sauce. It was crispy on the outside and soft inside. I suggest, don't let it sit on the sauce for too long. On to the main course, nothing extraordinaire with my tempura and the tonkatsu. The tonkatsu is just averagely thick but quite bland. The breading isn't too thick, though, but it's crispy. I was happy with my tempura, it was big but not much of the batter. I can 'taste' and 'feel' the shrimp. My partner is  not much into japanese food in which I categorized this as a once-in-a-blue-moon craving she had.  The good thing was, she enjoyed the feast of flavors. The taste were so, so right, no need to  add condiments to it. She's quite picky with her food and I was glad she really liked it. All in all, nothing extraordinary but definitely worth the value of money. We both had a great time here and planning to experience ramen. I'll post it soon!

Moshi Koshi’s Bento contains a lot for sharing. We ordered a Chicken Teriyaki Bento which already includes rice, miso soup and 4 different sidings, mostly vegetables. The vegetables were satisfying and the chicken were flavorful you can just eat a little with heaps of rice. I so loved their gyoza. They are just too big and they tasted good enough to be my “ulam”. :-) I think price wise, Moshi Koshi is considerable. I’ve yet to try their bowl of noodles and I’m planning to have one of those with tempura. My mouth is already watering having these thoughts. One thing I noted though is that their place at SM Fairview is somewhat too narrow. I am sure it won’t be a good idea to go there during the weekends.

We ate here with my family. We liked their ramen because it is so tasty and delicious. Also, their serving is good. I will definitely go back to this place to try their other offerings.

A friend and I tried their shoyu ramen, a soy sauce based soup. It took some time before our order arrived but we were occupied by the informative paper placemats with their diner dictionary and some trivias. Our ramen arrived while it's still smoking hot and very inviting to the eyes. It was well presented, clean and beautiful. The noodles were firm and delicious. At first I didn't like the shoyu broth but I eventually appreciated it halfway when slurped with some tamago. The soy taste was there but I think it failed to leave an impact. As for the meat, it was flavorful and would melt in the mouth.Overall, Moshi's shoyu ramen was not as good as my favorite from Ramen Nagi. It was not my type of ramen but it was cooked well, fulfilling and satisfying. The price was on the affordable side compared to Ramen Nagi. The place was small, with only around 10 tables, a little mausok near the kitchen area, but well maintained, organized and very cozy. Service crew were alert, attentive and friendly.
