Staff needs more training on alertness and customer service. The door host asked how many are we, and I said 3, and she repeated. Later on, she asked if we were 8.The server keeps on looking around while taking our orders. The comments are off and irrelevant when taking food orders. The server takes customer's name, instead of introducing their own, which I found unnecessary. When I asked why, they responded "para pa-sweet". It would have been cute and "value-adding" only if the service from the onset was great.

Max's is the go-to restaurant of most of my balikbayan relatives, which is kind of a wonder to me because a lot of other restaurants offer Filipino food at much cheaper prices and bigger servings. Then again, it's their money and choice hehe. Their food is delicious naman, but I wouldn't eat here often. Oh, they do have the best leche flan, though! :)

Typical Max's ambience and dishes. Chicken's still great. Can't say much about the rest in the menu, maybe just average compared to other known pinoy restos. But what really turned me off in this particular branch is the service. Order taking seems like just wanting to get through with it. In other words, it sucks. Just imagine all your friends almost done eating and finding out later that your order wasn't taken. Worst thing is instead of pacifying you, waiter guy slams you with a "ni-repeat ko nman po ang orders nyo e...". Yeah, in a large group that orders set meals each, you don't just repeat it to that 1 person that can hear you (set order each yan, meaning alam dapat ni waiter na kanya kanyang order yan). Get acknowledgement from each when you repeat. Anyway, there are better ways of handling that mishap. This one just didn't care.

I have fond memories of the Max's in my hometown, so I visit their Eastwood branch whenever I miss their food. The chicken is tasty, and their sinigang na hipon is one of my all-time faves. They also have this tofu steak dish that I like. This is a good place for dining with your family, but they also offer lunch sets and budget meals if you're eating solo.

Went to Max's one rainy afternoon for lunch. The staffs were friendly and assisted us to our seats. We ordered one part of the chicken, potato salad and kang Kong with tofu (one of my favourites). We received our potato salad and we're a bit turned off to see our side lettuces was all pale and brown, basically inedible. My mum told the waiter who was looking after us that this was unacceptable and they shouldn't be serving anything like this (dead lettuces) next time to the customers. The waiter apologised and said he'll let the chef know about it (which I hope he did). Our chicken came, it was a bit on the dry side but still had the crispness. The Kang Kong tofu was the winner on all this. When we were about to order dessert, a new waiter was assisting us. I've asked him about one of the desserts and he couldn't answer my question and had to run to the chef and ask. So we waited for a while and I understand he might be new and doesn't know the products very well or maybe he might not be able to communicate English well. When the waiter returned, I made it easier and asked for the ice cream instead and wanted to know how many scoops you get and what flavours. Again, he had to run to the back and ask the chef and again we waited.I didn't end up having desserts.I've been to other Max's before and I've enjoyed eating in Max's and especially their desserts. Eastwood's Max's was ok, just can't get my head around, why would you even serve dead, brown, pale lettuces.

*Been here several times Service - 5All the servers will greet you with a smile. They'll introduce themselves and check on you to ask if they can get you anything else. Place - 3.5Comfortable and well lighted place. Typical restaurant. Nothing fancy. Food - 4I had their original fried chicken and rice meal. I added an extra order of pancit canton. And requested for my ube ensaymada and yema ensaymada to be warmed. Not the ensaymada that I dream of but not too bad either. Price - 3.5Affordable I would say since they have a set lunch that ranges from Php190 - Php275.

Max's tagged itself as the "House That Fried Chicken Built." It's quite a popular local restaurant for those who are looking for a step above the common fastfood chains. Slowly creeping into the local dining scene, it has now branches all over the country, one of which can be found in the busy Eastwood City section.Latest visit: April 13, 2017Food: 4/5The menu is a fusion of Filipino meals and Chinese specialties. Being the House That Fried Chicken Built, the must try meal of course is their house specialty, fried chicken. Their fried chicken is midway to a great fried chicken. Nonetheless, it is a tad better than most local restos. But definitely one of their best dishes is their sizzling tofu. It is good for the health (and vegetarians specially). It tastes really great but for its portion, I have to admit it is a bit too pricey. I remember when we dined one of our managers from Singapore (he is Chinese.) He only eats fried rice that his wife serves so finding the right resto to serve his taste was a bit of challenge. But when he tried Max's sizzling tofu, he immediately indulged, something he didn't do withe the other restos we tried prior to going to Max's. He even ordered extra rice! Haha.Their liempo is also good although a tad too crispy and a bit too dry. But it is tasty 😁Ambiance: 4/5It is one of those places that usually gets crowded during lunch breaks. Overall, the place is minimalist, a place to be tried for its food more than its ambiance. The place is clean though the reception/entrance area is a bit too narrow. It seems that the aircon is not working.Service: 4/5The food took too long to serve although understandably it is a lunch break, and with the throng of lunch diners, such delays are inevitable. However, it is quite inexcusable when a mere coconut takes 20 minutes to serve. Nonetheless, the staff are accommodating, friendly and helpful.Price. 3.5/5Too pricey considering the portion of the food served.

The service was good as well as the food. :) The staffs were very welcoming and accommodating. The ambiance of the place was great. Cool songs were playing too, which made the place even more relaxing.

Due to the recent ad of Max's that went viral online (Rock Baby Rock), I got enticed to order their Rice Bowls. My husband and I ordered the Kare-kare Rice Bowl and Crispy Pata Rice Bowl. I really love their Kare-kare (I actually prefer this over their fried chicken) but I find the regular serving too big so I'm happy to know that they now have single servings. The rice bowls were pretty big too -good enough to share (just get an extra order of rice). We had our food to go. It was neatly packed and there was a separator between the rice and the Kare-kare so there was no spillage. There were equal portions of beef and tripe and both were really good. I also love the bagoong sauce that they served it with. So reasonably priced at just 199php per rice bowl.
