Had dinner with a couple of my buddies last April 14 at this place. It was Amazing!! We were lucky enough to meet the owners of the resto. Mr Tenchan and his wife mrs Candy Higa. For starters, we had the Tiradito de Salmon (salmon carpaccio). Its their version of kilawin. instead of vinegar, they use citric juice. You can taste the freshness of the salmon. It was a great surprise. Next we had the Pollo con papas (chicken and fries). Their specialty. After just one bite, I'm lost for words. Its the best peruvian chicken ever!! Even the fries are great. Being a steak lover, of course I had to order the Anticuchos de Lomo (skewered tenderloin with chimichurri and aji verde sauce). Tender doesnt decribe it. Its a melt in your mouth experience!!!! It so crazy! The doneness is a perfect medium well. Could've had 2nds or 3rds honestly. We also had the Arroz con Mejillones (mixed rice with mussels simmered in wine sauce). Its like paella. And the Lomo Saltado (Stir fried beef tenderloin in soy sauce). Man they were so tasty and satisfying!! Best dining experience ever! Definitely coming back for more. I'm an avid website and I approve this message!

Authentic Peruvian restaurant owned by a local from peru who married a filipina. They changed locations now which is good because previous location was too small. Enjoyed their take on the seafood paella!

An old restaurant in a new place, Mantaro is no new kid in the Tomas Morato area, they've moved to a bigger space, and they still have pretty much the dishes you've come to expect from Peruvian food in the Philippines. Their octopus and ceviche are both good starters, while the lomo saltado and the chicken are the classic mains. Their food can be a bit salty to some though. This is definitely an interesting place to go to, though there are imitators now. Prices are kind of upscale but on par with most in the area.

I've tried their food in the smaller establishment. Their Pollo ala Brasa was good the first time but the next few times, they tasted different and dry. The flavor was quite inconsistent. The sauces were ok though. Ceviche is fine. I would come back to the newer establishment if they have more on the menu.

This Peruvian restaurant is named after Mantaro River in Peru. It's a long great river that stretches to most regions of the country. Personally, I feel its name fits this establishment, given their quality menu of dishes full of flavor. For starters, our team shared their appetizing Ceviche de Pescado (Php 320). It is synonymous with our Kilawin, only in South America they use lemon as its base. It's cured fish complimented by sweet potatoes, canchas (semi-popped corn), onion, cilantro and chili for a much-needed kick. It was a wonderful plate that I highly recommend you have when you visit.  Next was one of the most amazing rice plates I had in awhile, Mantaro's Arroz con Mariscos. It is similar to the familiar Spanish Paella. This one used seafood broth to cook its rice. It had generous ingredients of shrimp, clams, squid, and scallops. Its strong spices of cilantro, onions, and cumin were felt in every spoonful. Although we only had these two dishes, it's enough to merit 4 stars. Soon, I'll be back to check out their other specialties. They also have Pollo a la Brasa con Arroz, Lengua Guisada and Lomo Saltado.  They are located inside the confines of Elements Hall, 57B Scout Tobias Corner Scout Limbaga, Tomas Morato, Quezon City.

This place has great interior. Warm, approachable and attentive waiting staff. The food was excellent. We ordered the paella-like rice and paired it with one of their new menus, salmon with yogurt sauce. My boyfriend, who is a picky eater, loved it. Definitely worth every centavo. Kudos to Mantaro staff!

I had the ceviche for starters which was very good. Of course, to my like of saltiness, I had to add a little more and as I like it sour, I requested for a piece of lime which they gladly gave. For the main course, I had the pollo a la brasa con papas which is very recommendable. The lemon pie for dessert is a nice treat. I have to return to try their arroz con marisco. I was being tempted to order it but I knew I had already ordered a lot of food as each serving is really for two people.
