Been craving lengua for a week now. And the nearest and most convenient place for me to get my beefy tongue fix is Mangan located at Robinsons Galleria. Once again, I had the Lengua with Mushroom for lunch today. The meat is consistently tender, and the mushroom sauce flavorful. I wish this dish were served with a side of root vegetables e.g. carrots, potatoes, zucchini.

One of the few restaurants left to review in Robinson's Galleria. I've been here 4 times before and I usually recommend it to friends when they ask- what's a good Filipino place? To start they have a nice ambiance- simple but creatively done for a small space. Their menu follows with not so many choices filled with mostly quality dishes. On this trip I went for their Ginataang Sigarilyas Php 120. I was eyeing Ampalaya but was craving for something coconut. This dish had a powerful gata taste matched with alamang. It was great combination. Their best selling fish- Salmon Belly Sinigang. I would've raved about it if it had more 'meat'. For Php 280 it wasn't as sulit. The soup though was sour just right but could use more spice. I had their Adobo, Kare Kare, Ginataang Sitaw at Kalabasa and I found them well worthy of your Filipino palate.

Mangan brings you back to the roots of real good Filipino food! It gives you the old fashioned taste of Filipinos. Very Delicious food! A Tasteful experience, indeed! I honestly think that Mangan has a good base for making delicious Filipino food! I especially like their Tofu Sisig and Crispy Pata. Service is fast and price is affordable

I've tried this restaurant back in 2010 and I was kinda disappointed with the serving portions given the prices of their food. But I guess everyone and everything deserves a second chance (esp food!) For some reason, I craved for puto bumbong and surprisingly they serve it regardless of any occasion. The consistency of the flour mixture is done really well. Soft and not too chewy. We also decided to order some pinakbet l, sinigang and lengua. The pinakbet is your usual mixed veggies with a dash of shrimp paste. Nothing special or fancy. If you crave for an ordinary pinakbet, better go to a karinderya than pay for more here. The sinigang is a delight! It's sour broth is not based on the ready mix powder, but its taste reflects that natural ingredients were used. The lengua is nothing special. Again, you can buy cheaper priced food for the same taste. Overall there's no fuss and frills about this restaurant. It weighs a balance of some good food and quite pricey food which you can buy anywhere else.

I can say that this weekend is all about food because earlier today, I was invited to attend the soft re-opening of Mangan Restaurant Robinsons Galleria. If you haven’t heard of Mangan, it is a Pampangan restaurant, related to Cabalen Group of Companies. In Ilocos, Pampanga and Pangasinan, “mangan” means “eat.”

Located at Robinsons Galleria, Mangan re-opens for the third time and it is the place to whet your appetite for delicious home-cooked Filipino meals! Part of the Cabalen group, Mangan follows suit and serves superior Kapampangan cuisine that makes you feel at home with its familiar ingredients transformed into an exceptional fare.Mangan means "eat" in Kapampangan, and eat we did! We had the pleasure of being served:The Bulalong Baka with Mais (PHP 425) is boiled soup made with bone-in beef shanks, corn and pechay leaves--the perfect dish to eat after a long day.The Pork Sisig is made with pig head and liver, seasoned with calamansi and chili peppers. Sisig was first mentioned in a Kapampangan dictionary in the 17th Century meaning "to snack on something sour".The Laing with Dulong (PHP 190) is made with dried taro leaves, coconut milk, shrimp paste and chili peppers, and dried silverfish. The Sizzling Chicken (PHP 300) is juicy and rich with flavor from their house blend of spices! The Kare Kare Seafood (PHP 395) is thick with savory peanut sauce! It is made from a variation base of stewed shrimp, mussel, crab, and shrimp--a much healthier version of the original. The Bibingka at Puto Bumbong is a seasonal treat served all year round at Mangan! It's made with rice flour, coconut milk, and a purple rice cake which is prepared by steaming ground purple rice mixture inside a bamboo tube--totally tubular! After feasting on Mangan's finest, we washed it all down with refreshing and delicious Cucumber Lime and Watermelon Coolers.

Our lunch order consisted of kinilaw na puso ng saging, kare-kareng buntot ng baka, crispy pork adobo plus chicarong bulaklak and fish balls as appetizers. Everything was good and tasty. Very nice home-cooked feeling that stirred up good memories of my childhood. Ambiance was nice but a bit loud, maybe because the place was packed then. The service crew were also very attentive. Will definitely visit this place again sometime!

The ambiance was nice and cozy. However, we were not satisfied with the taste (e.g. sizzling bulalo was bland), serving size and the service. We would suggest that they improve these factors :)

We had lunch here today and the service is good. The staff are very attentive. The food is good. Pictured here is our fave street food platter. We always come here for the crispy photo, pork sinigang, sizzling Bulalo, lechon kawali to name a few. The price is right on the budget for a group of eight people.
