I guess you can say that I'm an already "expert" in Lido dining (I've already reviewed three branches) Why? You see, I'm such a fan of the their food (well, most not all). Even after a minor issue with their Commonwealth branch, mom and I still patronize the brand. Of all branches near our place, its the Visayas that's our favorite. It's visually clean (except for their yucky toilet!), smells clean, servers pleasant and the food is much much better (I would say, a huge improvement) from THAT branch. I know that all branches adhere to the same recipe to achieve uniformity, pero iba pa rin ang Commonwealth.Anyway, it was early in the morning one weekday, my mom asked to come with her to make a payment on a new car. We finished the transaction before and 10am and mommy complained of not having breakfast yet (maybe because of excitement?). She asked to be taken to one of my "discoveries" in the Scout area and after consulting my good friend, website ended up not finding one open before 11am. And it hit me. Why not breakfast in Lido Visayas where I normally buy her Shrimp Foo-Yong? Off we went.As expected we were greeted by a smiling and helpful staff. We ordered. Mommy didn't have to open the menu for she knew by heart what she wanted (guess?) and I, Breakfast Primera. My mom finished her Shrimp Foo-Yong and I, had half of my Breakfast Primera wrapped. I found it too dry and too tough for my teeth which are undergoing treatment. Not your fault, Lido Visayas. I will still be buying my mom's Foo-Yong there. Lastly, can you do something with your toilets?

I like how Lido is a neighborhood Chinese joint. It serves unpretentious Chinese food, no frills and fancy cuts. Just fresh chinese food. Their breakfast is one to wait, because of its value for money price, along with the fact that you can eat it while watching the tree-lined busy road, which is Visayas avenue.

Yeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaah Lidoooo! It's our family's go-to place. We've probably tried everything on their menu. Things are indeed kinda pricey but most of them are so good that you won't be able to stop eating. REALLY GOOD STUFF: - Sizzling Asado with Plum and Taosi Sauce (WITH WHOLE GARLIC CLOVES; I can finish an entire order by myself, pls don't judge)- Crispy Tofu in Chinese Vinegar (LOVE THE VINEGAR. LOVE THE TOFU. LOVE THE GARLIC. We try to recreate it home only to fail)- Spareribs in Salt and Pepper (uggghh, the garlic makes it extra good- Pugon Roasted Asado (but after tasting the sizzling one, I never went back)Not so good stuff: The entire Rice Topping Primera menu minus the Classic Asado (love that). They taste too "malasa" and heavy for me, they're so overwhelming that you'd actually wanna stop eating.Other good stuff: Chami! Buttered Chicken! Dimsum! Other plus points: comfy dining, not crowded, nice staff, parking space
