We tried the newly opened store in SM Rosario. We had the crab rice, lechon kawali, crispy pata, sinuglaw, fresh lumpia, the mixed noodles and bicol express. Was surprised at how fast the service was, don't know if it's because they just opened. I loved the crab rice,m and bicol express. Will definitely be back.

My sis recommended this restaurant to me. I like their interiors. The food was a bit normal to me. Except the sinigang na ulo ng salmon was so tasty. I love their cucumber shake too.

It used to be our favorite resto in SM Sta. Mesa and dine here for almost twice a month until yesterday (CNY) that we had to wait more than 30 mins for our orders to be served. The "supposed to be" good foods that we usually order were a failure. Sisig was too salty and it didn't seem like the usual that they serve. It seemed something from a can that was just heated. It wasn't even spicy. Garlic rice wasn't totally cooked yet as it was "malata".Pochero's meat was hard and the potato used was rotten as it was already black and hard. Due to unsatisfaction we just ask them to carry it out and in less than an hour when my sister opened it to eat it of course, she complained that it was already smelly and that the veggie was really "bulok na".I hated it so much that I will never dine in there again. I think the exposure they did with their add lessen the quality of their foods and service.

place is not well ventilated and lacks aircon. staff is slow and lack servers ratio to table /customer. toilet is clog and dirty. food is average price but servings small hence become add more orders so total budget is over. chop suey was average but plate too small so veegtable falling into table. most food a pre cooked and warmth on order hence bit over cooked dry. kare kare lacks peanut taste associated with kare kare sauce and bagoong have stinky smell seems not well stored properly. bangus waa average . tortang is average. nothing exciting worth remembering or recommending just like fast food turo turo with exporbitant prices

Di ko gets ang mga pagkain dito. Kulang sa lasa. Parang ewan. Ang konti pa ng servings. At parang mali ang pagkakaluto. Haha. Yung sisig hindi lasang sisig. Lol. Nag Mang Inasal nalang sana ako. Mas masarap pa. Pangit din ng service. Sayang sa oras

It’s been awhile since we went here at SM Sta. Mesa so we decided to eat with the whole family at Kuya J. It’s or second time in this branch. :) I wonder why the rating is so low, They have great food with great value. ⭐️ Food We ordered the ff: - Relyenong Talong One of the best tortang talong I’ve ever tasted and the price is just right. - CalderetaSmall serving but it tastes good. - Roasted Chicken Not that much of a big deal, Kenny Rogers’ Chicken is way better. - Chopsuey Nothing special. - Pinakbet My mom’s cooking is better than their Pinakbet, Maybe we should open our own restau HAHA Ate M lol, just kidding. - Halo Halo ONE OF THE BEST, The ice is so soft unlike other halo halos where the ice is still crunchy. ⭐️ Service 5/5 ⭐️ Ambiance 4/5 Kuya J is offers delicious entrees at the same time it’s affordable. Worth the price and visit!! Don’t forget to try their HALO HALO!!! :)

hindi ko po alam if you would consider this as a review but for me this is an inquiry....march 13, 2018 (just yesterday SM san lazaro) we ordered the new Beef Tadyang Sinigang.. at first glance it brought smile to me at nasabi ko na " eto, ito ang sinigang ng south (Visayas Region) thickness and color of the soup... tapos sabi pa sa menu book "sakto sa asim". it is the first time i/we ordered it. so excited to taste na. we all now what we expect pagdating sa sinigang. dapat may ASIM or should i say Dapat MAASIM. to my surprise maasim nga... pero bakit may ibang lasa.. may matamis na lasa din.. so me my companion talk about it. there are different flavors / variety of sinigang. so we ask the crew if yun ba ang talaga ang signature taste ng sinigang na tadyang ng Kuya J's... it's just a question answerable by a yes or ano. pero he said "wala po bang asim" we said "meron PONG ASIM, pero bakit po MATAMIS?".. i would had been satisfied nd rest my case kung sinabi niya na yun ang signature taste ng dish na yun... kaso.... "cge po ipapaayos po namin sa kitchen... so mali po b na maasim at matamis yung lasa ng sinigang ng kuya J? pero come to think of it napaka corteous ng staff na they exerted extra effort to satisfy the taste of their customer... pero sir, di ko naman sinabi na walang asim, bakit ginawa nyong napakaasim at maalat naman yung lasa... this is a comment not to give disgrace to your resto... ang dami kong masarap na nakain sa kuya J and i assure you satisfied ako with two thumbs up.. kaya lang kahapon eh. this is to take note of what i experienced for improvement. kung yun talaga ang lasa then make a stand and be proud of your dish anuman ang lasa.. sa staff, wag naman po kayo magalit if we raise questions to the point na di na makain yung dish sa sobrang asim... yung lamang po.. salamatrating is for the food i ordered.. i still give them a 4.5 as a whole...

We decided to try out Kuya J as there are few food options in Mesa. Sisig and Kare2 had always been our combo when eating out in a Filipino Resto but we were so enticed by grilled tuna and ordered it instead.VerdictKare-kareOne of the best tasting kare2 i had aside from my mums. (Biased here haha) Seriously it was homey, the peanut in the sauce was real. Perfect cut of meat. The bagoong complimented the dish well. Grilled tuna in special sauceThis meal was so fishy. We noticed that the smell was not so nice, instead of complaining we concluded that it was because of the special so so its ok but a bite gave us an itch so we decided to take it out. The tuna did not make it. We had dessert and came back to a fart smelling car. We remembered our take out and so it was. After just an hour it smelled we were too skittish to still open it up as we might see something that we regret.Due to food safety, id say the visit was not worth it.

The pancit was too salty and the shrimp were all cut up which is just wrong for any respectable restaurant to do. I have tried their crispy pata before and it was acceptable: crispy skin and tender meat but there is a better one from Golden Chicken in N. Domingo, San Juan.I am yet to try well-loved their halo-halo.

First to arrive among our orders is the Kuya J’s Bulalo. It came in an uneven bowl and extra pitcher of soup. It was good that they prepare extra soup but I’m not sure if you can request for more. The beef was not tender and I hard a hard time slicing it. The vegetables were just okay. For me, the soup lacked a bit of saltiness into it. Knowing that this is their signature dish, they might want to review how it is cooked/done.We also ordered Sizzling Sisig with Egg and Sizzling Pork Chops. The sisig was good and the serving was good enough for at least 3 people. It was not crunchy and the meat was so delicious. It was so flavorful that you 1 cup of rice might not be enough. Haha. The pork chops were big, thick and tender. The meat is a lot better than the one in the Bulalo because this was easier to slice and bite. The Bistek-style sauce was okay, too.The place was a bit cramped also. The tables and chairs were so close to each other and a lot of kids almost bumped into the waiters.
