their menu is quite similar to gerry's grill but it is the cheaper version.. the taste is average .. value for money is indeed great since the serving is quite plenty .. recommended if you want to treat large number of people 😜

We just had our late lunch today. We ordered the ff:Bulalo (not available)Roasted Chicken (not available)So instead we replace with the ff:Fried Chicken (dry)Sisig (over cooked)Chorizo rice (too oily) Also, the 20% was not applied properly. Kuya Jericho Rosales is promoting this resto. Good luck! We will never go dine in here.

Good tasting food and pricing may look reasonable but very small serving. Ends up, not that reasonable pricing. The service in their SM Novaliches branch is kind of slow.

It didn't live up to expectations - considering the price for each dish. My mom and I had bagnet kare kare, crispy hito, a bowl of rice each, tablea leche flan, and mango pandan. In all, before my mom's senior discount, the bill was 1045 pesos, which may look ok considering that these were their one of a kind specialties. However, for 300-500 pesos/pax you can get better kare kare and other buffet fare in Cabalen. Even Mangan's kare kare was better. The crispy hito was breaded and fried in pieces. I didn't mind that it was chopped, but I wish they didn't encase it in flour as I couldn't tell which part was which and I ended up picking all the bony parts. Plus, I couldn't tell if we had a decent sized catfish or if we got shafted. (On a side note, I informed one of the waitresses that they had poor ventilation, because the smell of fried catfish wafted thick and heavy as soon as we walked in.)The desserts were also a bit of a let down and looked better on print. Where's the coconut on my tablea coffee flan?On the upside, my mom did like the spun sugar that decorated her mango pandan.

We decided to have our lunch at Kuya J's. Staff was friendly but service was kinda slow (understood since it was Christmas) it took them 40 minutes to serve the appetizer (calamares) anyway, I was kinda disappointed when they served us the bulalo considering the price, beef taste weird (not fresh) and the cabbage well.... it's like they used the outer part of it, it has holes obviously bitten by worms and the edges are dark. They told us it was not available when we ordered but miraculously they said that they have it, kinda wondered where they got it. Just please don't do it next time

I didnt find anything special on their food but their halo halo is indeed different. It was SO HARD to mix it up because of the ice. Their ice shavings were like sheets of paper, not the usual ice that we see on our halo-halos. It was good but I couldnt say if it was better than Razon's cause both has their own pro's & con's. However, I still recommend it for you to try it, the leche flan was very scrumptious! The Chorizo Dinamitas was VERY SPICY since it is wrapped in siling haba but I really liked it, I just couldnt stand the spiciness.Truly, there's a room for improvement. The Fish & Camote Fries was very bland. Good thing they gave us a 'suggestion paper' afterwards.

Average. Nothing special about this place and the food here. I can even name some cheaper restaurants that serve better food than here. Crispy Pata looks quite far from how I expected it (Just look at the pic). Though it has the right flavor and tenderness it's just too greasy and messy for me.Salad is okay as well as the sisig.Happy but not satisfied.Might take a long time before I'll see Kuya J again.

the usual family dinner, we tried this classic dining. We had Kare-kare, Pata, Bicol Express & Sisig (best seller). It was indeed budget friendly & portions were given generously. verdict: enjoyed our dining experience, simply the best place to celebrate occasions with less penny to spend. Try their Kare kare, "IT'S THE BOMB" swear.

I am commenting for Kuya J at SM San Mateo. The place, the staff and some food were good. The mixed seafood was superb, it was the best among the dishes they offer, however, the Kare Kare didn't satisfy my tastebuds. It didn't have much of the peanut taste, kinda taste like cornstarch sauce with a hint of peanuts in it. It got 2 pieces of petchay leaves, 3 or 4 pcs of sitaw, and 5 -6 thin slices of eggplant. We also ordered crispy pata, and it got soggy fast. I mean, its skin was like chewing gum after a few minutes (maybe because of the air conditioner?)Lastly, the price. Well, it is reasonable but when we asked for the bill, we were surprised to see that the VAT wasn't included in the price itself. I would've understood if it was written on the menu that *blah blah tax not yet included*,but no sir it wasn't there, the staff didnt inform us. And those were the reasons why I gave them this rating. I understand it when the food is bad, but not telling us about the hidden charges(if i can call it like that), is simply terrible. **please do correct me or enlighten me about this**
