Honestly, the food was good, would say it was worth it. The staff just wasn't. Despite not being busy, they were on their phones and were not very attentive of their customers' needs. I would not complain if I had seen this kind of behavior in other restaurants here in the Philippines, but there have been more attentive and better service in other places that were serving food at a cheaper price.

Ube halo-halo is definitely a "must try!" Its finely shaved ice will give you a "melts-in-your-mouth" taste. Sweetness is just right but it has the rich ube flavor, with added halo-halo ingredients you would normally look for in this all-time favorite Filipino dessert. I should say I will definitely come back to try their other regular halo-halo!!! I have tried their other recipes and they all tasted great though "bitin" when it comes to serving sizes. However, this resto serves really good food!

Halo-halo is almost synonymous with Kuya J's .So after a day out to the salon, we went ahead and had our lunch in Kuya J's. We had their Grilled Scallops for the appetizer. I loved how they melted cheese on top of the shellfish, the grilling was well done it seemed like it was baked. For the viands, we chose their signature Bulalo and Crispy Pata, which pretty much surpassed my expectations with them. For desserts, we were eyeing to get their Halo-halo Espesyal but due to high volume of customers ordering that particular afters, we ended up getting the Ube one. Although I am not into Ube desserts, I wasn't displeased with what they served. If it weren't for their slow service, I would have given them a higher rating. I mean, given that the food they serve and the ambiance they have all surpassed my anticipation with Filipino cuisine.
