My favorite Japanese restaurant! My friends and I got the gyoza and okonomiyaki to share. Both reallyyy good. The friendly staff and cool ambience makes eating here a fun experience. They also have a good selection of ice cream!

Though situated at the main road of Mindanao Ave, this Japanese restaurant is quite easy to miss if you're not from the area. Being our first time visiting the place, we didn't want to go without having a reservation so we called in a hour before to secure a table. The attendant who answered the phone said that no reservation was needed since there was still a lot of room. Being unfamiliar with the place, I also inquired if they had ample space for parking, which he replied "yes mam, kasya pa siguro mga bente dito". I realized he was being sarcastic when we got there, but I just brushed it off. Upon entering, you will be greeted with a bar on the left and tables which were divided with a standing wooden divider. A bit cramped, but not awfully uncomfortable. We usually ask for recommendations from our server, though the one who attended to us was very impatient and kept hurrying us up. Mind you, we were one of the first customers there and the restaurant wasn't even full. Their service really put us off at that point. After taking our order, we were provided with a tray with utensils including a small bowl of pickled seaweed. Thank god they dished out an appetizer because their serving time took forever. 🥗 Kani Salad (Php 180) - It took them 15 minutes just to serve this "salad", which honestly looked like it had been assembled in less than 5 mins. It was more like a lettuce salad sprinkled with bits of Kani. You can barely get a bite kani. Not worth it at all. 🐚 Hotate Butter (Php 350) and Kaki Butter (Php 350) - These two definitely saved the day. A must if you want some buttery, savory, and melt in your mouth seafood goodness. The scallops were soft but at the same time, still had a bounce to it. The oysters were creamy, plump and juicy. The butter sauce just perfectly complemented this dish. (🌟🌟Recommended🌟🌟)🍖 Wagyu (Php 280) - I doubt this is real wagyu, but it was okay, a dish you can go without. If ever you do order it, dip it in the butter sauce for added flavor paired with a spoonful of rice, yum!🍣 5Pin-Moriawase (Php 1000) - We kept following this up since it was supposed to be served in the beginning of our meal, instead, it was served at the end. Uni was not fresh at all. Salmon and Tuna sashimi was cut thin and is most likely sourced locally. It also came with Saba and Tako. Definitely not worth it. I could get the same set, lower price with a WAY better quality our go-to Japanese restaurant. 🐟 Hamachi Kame (Php 550) - They definitely saved the best for last. It was a big portion with a lot of meat. Make sure to squeeze the lemon and pair it with the radish and soy sauce to reduce some of the fishy taste and enhance its flavor. (🌟🌟Recommended🌟🌟)🍦TIP: Ask for their desserts available for the day and they'll serve you a basket filled with a variety of Japanese treats from ice creams to mochis. Overall, its way too pricey for the service and quality. Tried it and I don't have the urge or need for a next visit. Thank you, next.
