Last February 2017, my cousin and I had the chance to website hopping in Banawe and Binondo. We started first in the Banawe area. To start our breakfast experience, we went to Hugki Dumplings.Hugki Dumplings is a hole-in-the-wall Taiwanese Dim Sum placce in Banawe. It's right in front of Banawe Soybean Curd. So, if you are by the area, it will be easier for you to try both places. When we went here, we were the first customers to arrive. As you enter the vacinity, no doubt you can feel the Chinese culture in it. We noticed that majority of their customers are Chinese-Filipino descendants as soon as they started to arrive the place. The staffs were courteous and we made sure to start their day on a positive note.We ordered their famous Steamed Kutchay Dumplings. Upon first bite, we instantly fell in love with it. Plus the food is cheap! It only costs 130php for 10pcs!! You will feel like you are in heaven while eating their kutchay dumplings. By the way, this is the only thing we ordered because there were still some restaurants we had to go. We made sure not to get full.Ifever I get the chance to go back here, I am definitely trying their other dishes!

Tight place.  Few parking.  Excellent steam and fried dumplings.  Their noodle soup is very good too.  Fast service.  Very good price.  This is one place that you would be coming back to.

The best chinese comfort food, my brother and I always breaks our fast here! No fuss, just good chinese food! Their noodles are all good especially the duck soup. we always order kuchai (veggie) dumplings and shrimp dumplings in steam. Their sauce is the bomb! Also a must try is their bento meals with choice of side dishes.

This establishment just lost our patronage. They refuse to put in a discount for senior citizens just because my dad ordered take out! We said that’s illegal but the server said management’s orders. Anyway, their cuapao is so small and unsatisfactory for 100 pesos

Average food taste for the price. Nothing special. There are other resto in banawe that are way better. Also, they only discount 10% for seniors, bad!

Authentic Chinese home-style cooking. Just thinking of their tofu with egg is making me hungry. My family's been coming back to this place for years.

If you want to go for Vietnamese Cuisine or a fan of herby-taste-food, I suggest you this. Thought portioning doesn't match its price and yes, you will definitely want more. I don't like the strong taste of wansoy so I had to adjust to that.

Food is great. I love their fried chicken and porkchop and all of their side dishes. One problem i see is their shrimp siomai, they put too much ginger. Another is that the price of the food here is a little too high.

All their dumplings are so good!!!! Be it fried or steamed. I also love their dumpling sauce, adobo egg(??) and black chicken soup. My fam likes their duck noodle soup but i personally love the black chicken soup coz it tastes so legit!!

I find it weird that they don't allow you to take photos of the interiors or the food. When my sister started shooting with her phone, the server asked her what it was for. She politely informed us that their boss doesn't like their customers to do so. Pictures of us with the food was allowed so my sister took the attached photo. Truth be told, I couldn't resist taking sneaky photos but keeping those for my eyes only. When we found out that we would be in the area, my sister asked a friend who lived nearby for recommendations. We ordered most of the stuff she suggested and were very happy and satisfied with what we had.The Pork Chop Rice Meal consisted of Fried Pork Chop, Rice, 2 vegetable side dishes and a spicy pickled mystery thing. They were kind enough to offer to cut the pork chop. The spices used were very evident. It tasted like Shi Lin's Chicken Chop but way better. The Cauliflower side dish was flavorful. Amazed at how thinly they cut the lobster (?) ball. I've never seen beans so small and thin. They were crunchy, garlicky and tasty. The Beef Noodle Soup came in a huge bowl. The noodles were thick and quite slippery. It was a struggle to transfer to our individual bowls. Beef was very tender but some parts had fat and litid. The broth was very Asian and soothing. The Steamed Kutchay Dumplings were heavenly. The wrapper wasn't so thick and you could really feel the freshness. The slightly sweet, slightly sour, slightly salty dipping sauce went so well with the dumpling. It was pretty slippery and kept sliding from our chopsticks though. They serve complimentary hot tea. There were several other drinks in their chiller but I was too chicken to try them as most were not in English. The place isn't that big although turnover of tables were quick. There were several take out orders while we were there. Limited parking slots available. Service was quick and efficient.Total damage for all of that food plus 2 drinks was around P650. The 3 of us were stuffed and had smiles on our faces. I can't wait to bring hubby here as am sure he will appreciate the delicious Taiwanese food and lutong bahay feel of the place.
