It’s that once a month habit of ours to get out of our nook, chat and explore food havens in Maginhawa one resto at a time.First for 2015, Hijo D’ Pita; a creative name for a Mexican Pita Shop in a shabby chic compound along Malingap St.It’s one of those cool and eccentric looking restos in the The Zone compound that’s open on lunch time. You can’t park inside the compound though. They have a second floor where you can dine al fresco style.. I think it’s also a bar but it’s still under construction. We were fortunate enough to be the 1st to try it out. Has a good view of the compound.I was not aware that Mexican food involved a lot of patties and patties has never been attractive to my palate. Most of their rice meal involves patties. So e opted for combo special the waitress was routing for us.; the beef Classic Pita + Chuppa Cabbra + Iced Tea all for P150 and ordered an additional Classic Hijo Nacho Grande (P165). Service was fast, food is conventional nothing out of the ordinary, Staff was warm and entertaining. Price for their food is reasonable.

My favorite TexMex midnight fix. I usually order their El Chuppacabbra and their Hijo Classic Beef Pita. Best dipped in their garlic and BBQ sauce. Not a big serving for the cost of their food but it tastes good so it's worth it for me. Outdoor seating but they have a small space above the kitchen with a few more tables and chairs. Quite a narrow amd steep stairs though. Al fresco style, a very good place to chill and dine.PROS✔ 24hrsCONS❌ No Parking Space

We came across Hijo D' Pita when my friend and I decided to go to Maginhawa to hang out and get some light food. We went to Z compound and I was suddenly craving for nachos. We had the nacho grande? I believe that's what it was called, it was the one with all the toppings offered. I really loved the nachos! For P295, you get such a big serving of nachos with a generous amount of topping and a free pitcher of iced tea! Delicious but too much for 2 people to eat. Toppings were really heavy and filled out tummies immediately. Definitely a good deal for P295 and flavors were there.

Their nachos are very affordable considering the amount of nachos that was served to us. If you're going to buy nachos from this store you better have someone to share it with. Taste wise, their nachos are good but not exceptional. If you're looking for cheap but good nachos then this is a good choice. However, if your tastes are more "refined" then better go elsewhere. Anyway, I'm giving them 3.5 coz of the price. Good nachos for a very cheap price!
