Love their katsudon. Too bad the Makati branch is closed so this is a review for that now-closed store. Food is delicious and servings generous, but it takes some time and getting refills takes even longer. Overall, wonderful place to try for katsudon lovers.

The nearest branch I was able to visit was their Glorietta branch before it got closed.  I dined alone and have tried their Rosu Katsu set.  It's typical for a katsu restaurant to offer unlimited rice, soup, and cabbages and it's expected they have it too. What made Ginza Bairin stood out is the size of their katsu.  I have ordered the smallest serving and yet I did not expect the size to be satisfying.I just feel sad that their Glorietta branch has closed.  It's the nearest branch to my home and work.  On second thought, their Trinoma branch is an MRT ride away, so I'll think about revisiting them soon.

The food was yummo!!! Delish! I like how the food was presented and how it tasted. The rice was perfect, the meat was not oily and they're perfectly cooked. You alao get a complimentary dessert. We all want a free dessert, right?

This place is so Japanese for me.First off, they teach you how to eat at their place. From sauces to side dishes to what is good in their menu for a first timer, or is it only in Trinoma? Haven't eaten in another branch yet.Anyway, lurve the kani salad. Have that if you could. And all the meals are actually super nice but I'm biased toward the curry because who isn't? Right? The matcha green tea ice cream wont disappoint your tastebuds. Or any flavor for that matter. And the side dishes are refillable. Yes, even the fruits. Dad enjoyed the place immensely. (Its the kani salad, I swear. 😂😁)

In my opinion, Ginza Bairin is one of the better katsu places out there. Their service is quite prompt and the servers are attentive. Their food is a tad oily at times but nothing a little fruit can't fix. The kurobuta is as tender as it's supposed to be - melting in your mouth meat goodness

This is my 2nd most visited ginza bairin branch. And again, they have great rosu and chicken katsu here. With probably the most attentive ginza crew and manager. Since I've already tried everything, I frequently ask for new items. If you love spicy and hot dishes, their latest #curryudon best enjoyed with fellow new comer #ebi is a must try. But don't expect meat with their new noodle dishes. Likewise, if you're looking for new katsu, their #misokatsu with shredded negi (a little bit salty though) and the #oroshikatsu with shredded pomelo and daiko are new options.Just like my previous GB review, share your dinning experience for free scoop of ice cream!

By far the best katsu place that is not too expensive for the food quality you are getting. This is our family's all-time favorite. I always order the Chicken Katsudon set because the flavor is spot on, chicken is tender, plus you get a healthy balance because the set comes with miso soup, cabbage and fruits. The other Katsu sets is worth every penny as well. It's a bit underrated but people really have to try this place :-)

This place is awesome! It's like Yabu but different. I had the special katsudon and it was amazing. It tasted like what you would expect japanese food would be. The rice was perfectly fluffy and had the right amount of sauce. The egg was perfection on top of the katsudon. The cabbage salad is just a plain salad. Loved the pickles and the fruits. The miso soup was a tad salty for my taste but good though. Lastly, the rice, salad, pickles, and soup were refillable so I got my good worth! They currently have a promo that if you post a picture with their hashtags then you would get the free ice cream!!!! So I got my free green tea ice cream and it tasted absolutely amazing. As for the price, it was just right and the food is refillable. As for quality, it is also worth the price. Ambiance is nice and comfy. Loved the booths and mirrors on the one side of the wall with linear designs. Definitely a place worth trying!

This one's very much underrated. First tried them when my boyfriend and I were looking for a non-crowded restaurant in Trinoma. I've often returned since then whenever I'm craving for katsu sets. Noticeably, there are very few diners whenever I'd go there, which quite surprised me. I mean, I feel like they're no different from Yabu (and are in fact older since they were established back in the late TWENTIES), yet Yabu is always teeming with customers while this one isn't. I think it's a matter of marketing? I mean, they're quite similar when it comes to taste, ambience, price point, and service (though if you're gonna be very particular about it of course Yabu is still better - by maybe 0.25 or 0.5, lol). Not that I'm complaining tho since I like that I can always eat here in peace.I hope they establish a branch in the south (Alabang/Laguna area) since I'm gonna miss this when the bar exams are over.

I ordered rosu katsu set. Sulit yung set nila because of unli rice, vegetables and fruits. Yung rice nila japanese rice talaga yung medyo malagkit, naalala ko nakatatlong rice pa nga ako. Hehe For the meat, medyo naumay ako sa rosu kasi maraming taba. They have wifi pala. Mas gusto ko pa din yung vegetable at tonkatsu sa yabu kesa dito. Food 3/5Price 3.5/5Place 4/5Service 4/5
