Garnish by TYK is a pastry lab and comfort cuisine restaurant that's got a homey vibe, with games for the kids, a signature cheesecake dessert, and a healthier take on gastropub classics that are all the current rage. Located at the corner on the genteel street that is D. Tuazon in the Banawe neighborhood, this is the latest project of three Chinese Filipino sisters who ran The Yellow Kitchen (hence, the "TYK") along Sto. Domingo. It has cheerful interiors and a large upstairs floor with plenty of space for games and dining, and was where Giovan Tia, Alvin Ong and I were offered the chance to try key items from their menu.We were off to a good start with a creamy spinach dip, although I didn't like the grated cheese topping, which I feel isn't needed. Then we had an Asian chicken spaghetti, sweet and cuminy, with tender chicken fillet cuts that match nicely with the sauce. Vegetarian lovers will like their breaded siken tofu, fried and served with a BBQ-style sauce on the side. Three kinds of rice are offered - one of them nicely spicy; the latter goes well with their chicken parmigiana, topped gently with cheese, or their lean, meaty Garnish ribs decorated with slices of mandarin orange. A large portion of paprika fries comes with their burger platter. What you'll notice is that the food is less salty and less fatty than usual, which I'm glad for.Dessert lovers should definitely give their triple chocolate fromage cake a try. I think it's a well-conceived product. Inspired by Hokkaido cheesecake, it possesses that requisite lightness and creaminess typical of Japanese cheesecake. The twist to this is that it's topped with grated cheese, Filipino style, sort of like ensaymada, thus giving it a sort of savory tang. Good stuff. They've also given this cheesecake a matcha mousse variation, and that is equally as nice as their Triple Fromage cheesecake. This is a friendly and quiet location in Banawe where to pass the time. Thumbs up for the Ginataang Squash! Just enough spiciness for me, best paired with a bowl (or 2) of rice. Addicting! I can eat it everyday! 👍👍

The best place to hang out with your friends. They have all kinds of board games and books to enjoy. The best part is, the food is as great as the place. We tried their crispy chicken salad. Huge portion! If you're like me who loves veggies you should try this. We also had butter nuggets, pesto cream prawns (P580 for 5 pcs of huge prawns!), TYK fried chicken which is a breaded boneless chicken fillet paired with the honey mustard (so good), Garnish favorite-herb roasted chicken with sampaloc gravy, and Fried chicken curry. We were not able to take photos as we devoured the food when they arrived. Unfortunately their Triple Fromage japanese cheesecake was not available that time. We ordered the classic cheesecake where you can choose your toppings. I had blueberry. It is one of the best cheesecake i had. It is simple, not too sweet and not to creamy either. We will be back for sure to try their other dishes!

Garnish by TYKI literally walk by Garnish almost everyday on my way to work and witnessed the construction of this restaurant from start to finish. Come December of 2015, they have finally opened and ever since until today, I have been back to Garnish thrice. Trying out their Mozarella Bars, Calamares, Pastas, a Salad and their sardine pasta and chicken pesto pasta. Also worth mentioning is their Triple Fromage Japanese Cheesecake. From the items I have tried, I have found myself a neighborhood restaurant which serves quality comfort food. Will be back again soon!

I love the place and the food! The crunchy chicken salad and saffron shrimp linguine are some of my favorites from the first time I tried Garnish. For dessert, I love love love the Japanese Cheesecake! They also gave us a new dessert to try for free: the Chocolate Cookie Skillet which I suggest they must put on their menu a-s-a-p! It literally melts in your mouth So delish! Would definitely be coming back to try out the other food! And they've also a lot of board games, perfect for barkada bonding! :)

The food was worth the price. Try the Beef Stroganoff!!! 👌🏼 It was the best of what we ordered. Love the games available and its great with friends and family to play together. 👍🏼

They were still on their soft opening when my fellow chef friend and I chanced upon this place and we got curious. We decided to have dessert here after having dinner and was disappointed when we found out that their coffee and tea selections are not yet available. (I settled for hot water – sad!)My friend had the crème brûlée and he wasn't pleased. The sugar wasn't torched enough to form a caramel crust, and the custard lacked that bit of a tangy taste that should tease your palate. Their molten cake a la mode was served with the cake already oozing out, depriving the customer of the pleasure of being the one to break the cake and watch the fudgy chocolate come out. It tasted alright. Hopefully after being open for close to 6 months now, they've improved.

After a long drive, we decided to try out Garnish along D Tuazon Avenue. Don't get decieved by the small frontage, as inside is a spacious loft. The place feels warm, inviting and comfortable. Great to hang out with friends and family.The lady chef/owner greeted us and recommends that we try out their new pasta, Asian Chicken Spaghettini. I ordered solo size. True enough it was delicious! it wasn't oily, it wasn't heavy, the taste doesn't leave you thirsty. It feels clean. You'll be craving for more after one plate.For green tea lovers like me, the Matcha Triple Fromage Japanese Cheesecake is a must try. I read on other reviews that their triple fromage cheesecake is pretty good, really glad they also have a matcha flavor for it.Tip: - order the biggest size for Asian Chicken Spaghettini and share it with a friend. Or finish it solo, if you have a big appetite like me.- Triple Fromage Cheesecake is a best seller- To chinese single guys out there, the Chef is really pretty and very knowledgeable. You can ask her about food, what's good or what's not, and cooking tips. They really have a very welcoming attitude there.But don't take my word for it. Check out Garnish :)

Garnish by TYK is definitely one of the top restaurants in metro. The very juice ribs really made my day! Almost everything in their menu is great! Try also their beef salpicao!

From the ashes of The Yellow Kitchen, rises Garnish. A well-lit cozy restaurant that offers a wide variety of dishes, guaranteeing at least one to soothe your taste buds. Along with other foodies, I was able to try a couple of their dishes. Their most commendable dishes are definitely, their ribs, asian chicken spaghettini, and chicken parmesan. Unlike most of the ribs I've tried, its flavor comes from its meat as much as its glaze. Their ribs are juicy, meaty, and sweet with a hint of spice. My favorite had to be the asian chicken spaghettini. Tender chicken meat with sweet sauce and a bit of chili. Although I would've wanted it spicier, it was delicious. The chicken parmesan was generously lathered with cheese and tomato sauce and the chicken was cooked perfectly. An instant favorite for any chicken lover. You also won't want to miss their burger, very juicy, very meaty, and just the right amount of cheese. I eat a lot of burgers. I love burgers. This is one of the good ones. Dessert, in this restaurant, you do not want to miss. A unique delicious perfect triple fromage cheesecake is waiting for you to taste it. This was undeniably good. I couldn't think of one way to hate it but thought of a thousand things to love about it. Both the plain triple fromage cheesecake and matcha triple fromage cheesecake are amazing. The matcha edition just takes it to another level. I've already promised myself to get this cake for my family for Christmas as my gift to them.Their plating is excellent. I was told they recently improved it because of most of the feedback they received. I was impressed. I think that showcases the restaurant's integrity and willingness to improve. P.S.
