Estrel’s Caramel Cakes has been our go-to pastry shop if we want to make our celebrations even more special. We really like how the details of the cakes are impeccably prepared. Of course, the ultimate deciding factor would be the taste and Estrel’s does not disappoint.

They have always been our family’s go to cake shop but at times I get disappointed when they get the sizes of my cake wrong. I will only find out after I go there. I hope they can improve this aspect more.

I first tasted this caramel cake way back 2005, and my oh my it's gooood! I loved it 'cause it's not too sweet, and not nakakaumay. You should also try their apple squares, gosh! Super, duper yummy!

They serve good, quality cakes but their customer service is so poor! Inasmuch as we would like to order again, but we’re re-thinking it because the one who answers the phone doesn’t seem to be interested to talk to someone. They have 3 numbers but all numbers are busy. No mobile number available. I hope you can really do something about it

I do not understand the hylpe about this place. The cake designs are boring and stuck in the 1980sThe chiffon - dry with a flat flavor profile. Do I taste McCormick Vanilla extract? The 'filling" - if you could call it that was nothing. More than a sugar coat to keep the cake from crumbling. I would suggest to add Port reduction. Then actually filling with a thicker butter cream/mousse with honey crumb pieces folded in.The glace average and flat. Needs either some hint of saltiness or liqeur for extra oomph then top a thin bitter sweet caramel layer for added texture. All the rose butter cream tastes like a mix of shortening abd margarine with a 1/2 teaspoon of sugar. Also leaves a filmy residue on the tongue. Use real butter, caramelize the sugar first, before finely grinding and mixing with real butter. Experiment with othrr fravors and updaye the design.Servicd - terriblePrice - overpricedTastes cheap.

Their caramel cakes are just average. I had high expectations considering that they are known for their cakes.

Their cakes are absolutely amazing, the way a caramel cake should taste. This has been my birthday cake since 2010 and celebration is not complete without Estrels

Estrel’s doesn’t scrimp on the quality of their ingredients. Aside from the cakes, my family’s faves include the choco-oatmeal cookies, apple bars, and almond cookies (lengua).Props to them for adding parking space for customers.

The place is now four times, maybe eight times bigger than they were the last time we visited, years ago. We couldn’t even get any cake then, because they didn’t accept walk-in orders. I’ve tasted their cakes many times during birthday celebrations at my old office, and I’ve always wanted to order one for myself. I used my mom’s birthday as an excuse this time to get a cake. I ordered an 8-inch caramel with filling, and I left it up to the staff to decide what decoration they’ll put. I paid online the same day (Tue) I ordered, and picked the cake up today (Sat). It took less than five minutes to get my cake, though there was a handful of people inside. Apparently, they take walk-in orders, too, despite what the website says (though you have to wait longer). And you can now also get some sweets and pastries and slices of cake without having to order beforehand, though stocks may be limited. The cake itself is everything I remember it to be—the fluffy chiffon, and my favorite, the caramel icing and filling. The decorations were done pretty well, too, and I do like the buttercream flowers—better than sugar flowers, and definitely superior to fondant, which I detest. The best thing about the cake, though, was the fact that all the elements, when eaten by themselves or together, are not so sweet. With the cake being light and airy, and the icing and buttercream being not so sweet, you will be compelled to eat more (though it probably won’t be good for you, heh).I saw a really bad review on facebook about Estrel’s, and I’m thinking that it was either an isolated case, or an effort to tarnish this store’s reputation (despite the poster’s denial).Lastly, I know lots of people want them to expand to other areas, and at the risk of sounding selfish, I hope they never do. I hope they’ll remain as this hidden gem in QC that people will go out of their way to visit. I think this way, they can maintain the quality of their products.
