One of the most consistent originals in Maginhawa! (Though I don't know if it's just me, but I have noticed that their breading 'formula' kind of changed since 2012, kind of different from how they tasted like before then). Nevertheless, this is one of my most frequented place in Maginhawa as they never failed to deliver the Crazy Katsu experience: good comforting katsu's and soups served in the most pleasant warm manner and EXCELLENT service. If there is one thing Crazy Katsu does not seem to scrimp aside from its food is its staffing. I never found them shorthanded. Customers in general are given the same treatment as everyone is getting. I have dined here alone countless times, and never have I felt shortchanged when it comes to service, not even if there's a VIP/celebrity around. If there's one thing I miss from this place, is their on table condiments. Back in the days, all condiments (Katsu Sauce and Jap Mayo) are readily available on their table. Now, you still have to request for them. The request handover time is actually quick naman, but having it ready on the table would not only make it more convenient for the customer to avail the condiments, but could also save their crew A LOT OF EFFORT, since almost everyone requests for it naman. Another minor thing: the signal inside is crappy hehehe, especially the corner tables. BUT! other than that, I still would highly recommend Crazy Katsu as a starting point to any website eyeing to explore Maginhawa.

The place is small but it is conducive, Staff's are welcoming and approachableHowever, if you're very keen about your curryThis place is not the go to, the sauce is good enough as it should be Great. As you can see on the photo, Presentation wise, it doesn't look appealing (says so much about how it was cook?!)The Miso soup could have been better, Doesn't have so much flavour and bodyI know this famous Japanese fast food on which they serve the best Miso soup than Crazy Katsu

Sorry pero nakakaumay yung Chicken Katsu. I couldn't finish it by myself. It was also weirdly sour. Thanks to the mayo, it balanced out the flavor. For the Katsudon, it was very bland. Not even close to an authentic Katsudon. The Fish and Veggie Tempura were also bland. They tasted like oil and water. The dipping sauce tasted nothing like a tempura sauce. The food were generous and affordable though. I'll give them that. But I won't come back here again.

Crazy Katsu is one of the restaurants that we have been eyeing for so long. When I was still residing in UP, I always see this restaurant whenever I pass by Maginhawa Street in the morning. It was actually a friend who was been incessantly asking us that we try Crazy Katsu.

Place 🌟🌟🌟The place is quite small and but just enough for the two of us.Food 🌟🌟🌟🌟Their best seller, Chicken Katsu is good. We did not like their gyoza though. Very limited food choices. Service 🌟🌟🌟🌟Service time is reasonable.

Two words. Chicken katsu. It was the tastiest and crunchiest chicken katsu at its price range. Although it had a little bit more breading as usually seen in fried breaded foods in most restaurants and food carts in the philippines, it does not disappoint in taste. Very affordable and could have paired well with beer, but then coke would do just fine.Food = 4Ambience = 3.5Service = 3.5Cleanliness = 3.5Price = 4.5

We ordered Katsudon, Fish and Vegetables Tempura, Katsu Curry and Green Tea. I tried everything and the only thing I really liked was the katsudon. It tasted good and it will fill your stomach. The katsudon sauce was sweet and salty and it goes well with the egg and fried pork. The curry was just okay, it did not have enough curry flavor and taste. I didnt like the tempura because the fish was not fresh and the batter is not crispy anymore, veggie tempura is just average.

Crazy Katsu has been an institution along the famous maginhawa street. They survived and thrived the influx of new restaurants in the area. For this visit, we ordered their miso soup, sukiyaki, pork ginger, chicken katsu, chicken katsu salad, katsu curry, gyoza and their two new dishes, the tendon and the kastu skewers and coffee pudding. The chicken kastu was spicy and good for hotheads. Gyoza was okay but not the best. Sukiyaki broth was really goid but the beef was a bit thick and tough to chew. The tendon was a bit bland and it could have had more of the sauce to taste. The curry was one of the best I've tasted and is perfect with the rice.Everything was good-honest japanese food. Serving size was okay for the price point.

Their Chicken Katsu will always be a favorite of mine. The gyoza has a bit of a problem for me and I didn't like it that much, it needs improvement as Japanese sides are always a staple for someone eating their cuisine.
