I used to eat in the pang masa country side branch, open air, bbq smoke blowing into my hair and it saddened me when it closed. I never really tried the sosyal branch until recently and I was pleasantly surprised. It didnt really go far from the original menu. It's like eating turo-turo food in a place with better ambiance. I'm nostalgic though, so I prefer the old branch. But if you went here for the food, you wont get disappointed! :)

We have dined here a couple of times since they relocated. You can now choose between the al fresco and airconditioned dining areas. Some of the food are displayed at the counter and you can order from there or from a menu while seated. No matter how many times I eat here, I always get the Pork BBQ, Ensaladang Talong and Garlic Fried Rice. I still love all of them. The Pork BBQ is marinated just right and I love it swimming in vinegar. The Bagoong of the Ensaladang Talong is on the salty side but the salad is perfect with my BBQ. The Garlic Rice is so flavorful and garlicky. Although the servers said it was good for 2, it could be shared by 3 people. The rest of the family ordered Papaitang Kambing, Crispy Dinuguan and Sotanghon Soup. They liked the Papaitan. I've tried Papaitan before and I didn't like it so I didn't bother this time around. The Crispy Dinuguan tasted great. Some pieces were sinfully crunchy but some pieces I could really feel the fat and oil. The Sotanghon Soup arrived last and when we were done eating. They should rename this to Chicken Sotanghon Soup since it had Chicken pieces. No wonder it took so long, they had to cook the chicken well. This tasted like Tinola but with Sotanghon noodles that were too little and too slippery. Their Yema although a bit sweet was a good palate cleanser.Service needs improvement. They seemed unorganized and to think only a few tables were occupied. They gave us glasses but no water. We had to follow up the Sotanghon Soup 3 times. The bill took several minutes. Even the table nearby was following up 1 of their orders.Their exhaust should be checked too as the place was getting smokey. The smoke from the outside grill was drifting in each time the main door was opened.I still love my Pork BBQ, Ensaladang Talong and Garlic Rice but it will take a while before I come back. Hubby needs more convincing for a return visit.

Ordered lechon kawali and it was yummy and crispy!! My husband ordered dinakdakan and he said it was good, too. The ambiance is just like what you see in photos so if you want a restaurant kind of thing then you shouldn't be heading here. Also, the serving of the food is quite little considering the price. We thought it was good for sharing, but only actually good for one person.

This place never disappoint me, i took my in laws for lunch here and ordered my all time favorites and they love it we even had a chance to meet John Lloyd Cruz. Anyways I ordered Salmon head sinigang sa miso and as usual its really good also their famous Adobong Pusit and yes it was so yummy! I also ordered binagoongan, ensaladang talong and pork chop and what else would I say? of course it's also good! So over all it was again another awesome lunch here at The Countryside. Thumbs up! 😉👍

Our go to place after boxing. (Seriously thinking about transferring gyms because my friend and i are gaining weight lang ????)I really like the isaw here. Best paired with hot rice, soda, and atchara. Countryside atchara (pickled raddish) is the best!

Country Side has been an institution already to most of us who graduated in colleges nearby it.  I remember how rustic and unassuming the old place was, bbq was really good too!  They already offered some viands and really they were affordable even for a college student.  After how many years, I had the opportunity to go back to its new "look" and menu.  I was totally turned-off.  I understood that there were no bbqs yet because it was lunch time but at lunch time there were only a total of 6 customers.  Here's why:1.  For the price they charge for each viand, serving is really small.  I ordered the adobong pusti at P130, I mean it's not that expensive for the working class but it gets to be unreasonable when serving size is like worth P70.  The one given to us was already added with one piece and some sauce.  2.  Service sucks.  We asked the lady if the adobong pusit was "malabnaw", she replied with "di ko alam".  Instead of checking it herself, she gave us the i don't care attitude.  3.  Caldereta was good but for its price, it's not worth.  You'll get two pieces of beef cubes only.4.  Going back to the adobong pusit, it was totally lacking.  There was no chillie.  I could've understood that they did not put it slices if ginger since it purely preferential but taking out the chillie and adding sugar to it?  That totally ruined its original purpose. To boot the lady at the counter told us that we were still lucky because if the owner were the one gave us the serving, it was even lesser. Will never go back there again.

Best chicken ass and gizzard in QC. It has always been my place to unwind. I would come here to listen to cars burn tire and great BBQ. It's more pricey now than a few years back at their original location, but the food is still as good.

It was my first time to try this place and this will definitely not the last. If you are around the vicinity amd you are tired of the same old fast food restaurants and you are in the mood for home cooked meal then you should definitely try this place. They serve the best filipino home cooked meal. I will visit this place again. :)

This is one of the iconic landmarks in Blue Ridge Katipunan Avenue. It used to be a humble corner restaurant that serves unadulterated barbeque, bulalo, and sinigang. It has now moved to its new home in a more presentable building just a few steps away from where it stood for decades. It has kept its simplicity and reasonable costs of filling home-cooked Pinoy favorites. We ordered pork bbq, calderetang kambing, and inihaw na isaw ng manok. They have both an airconditioned dining area now and al fresco tables. Same ol' good food at friendly rates. Service time is satisfactory, no frills dining experience. Superb BBQ and a lot more "turo-turo" choices. A must visit when in Katipunan!
