I used to eat in the pang masa country side branch, open air, bbq smoke blowing into my hair and it saddened me when it closed. I never really tried the sosyal branch until recently and I was pleasantly surprised. It didnt really go far from the original menu. It's like eating turo-turo food in a place with better ambiance. I'm nostalgic though, so I prefer the old branch. But if you went here for the food, you wont get disappointed! :)

We have dined here a couple of times since they relocated. You can now choose between the al fresco and airconditioned dining areas. Some of the food are displayed at the counter and you can order from there or from a menu while seated. No matter how many times I eat here, I always get the Pork BBQ, Ensaladang Talong and Garlic Fried Rice. I still love all of them. The Pork BBQ is marinated just right and I love it swimming in vinegar. The Bagoong of the Ensaladang Talong is on the salty side but the salad is perfect with my BBQ. The Garlic Rice is so flavorful and garlicky. Although the servers said it was good for 2, it could be shared by 3 people. The rest of the family ordered Papaitang Kambing, Crispy Dinuguan and Sotanghon Soup. They liked the Papaitan. I've tried Papaitan before and I didn't like it so I didn't bother this time around. The Crispy Dinuguan tasted great. Some pieces were sinfully crunchy but some pieces I could really feel the fat and oil. The Sotanghon Soup arrived last and when we were done eating. They should rename this to Chicken Sotanghon Soup since it had Chicken pieces. No wonder it took so long, they had to cook the chicken well. This tasted like Tinola but with Sotanghon noodles that were too little and too slippery. Their Yema although a bit sweet was a good palate cleanser.Service needs improvement. They seemed unorganized and to think only a few tables were occupied. They gave us glasses but no water. We had to follow up the Sotanghon Soup 3 times. The bill took several minutes. Even the table nearby was following up 1 of their orders.Their exhaust should be checked too as the place was getting smokey. The smoke from the outside grill was drifting in each time the main door was opened.I still love my Pork BBQ, Ensaladang Talong and Garlic Rice but it will take a while before I come back. Hubby needs more convincing for a return visit.

Ordered lechon kawali and it was yummy and crispy!! My husband ordered dinakdakan and he said it was good, too. The ambiance is just like what you see in photos so if you want a restaurant kind of thing then you shouldn't be heading here. Also, the serving of the food is quite little considering the price. We thought it was good for sharing, but only actually good for one person.
