This is a branch of their old resto in Banawe, QC. The main Banawe branch has been there for maybe some 35 years or so, and that gives you a good indication on why they have existed for so long. The favorites I grew up on with this resto are their oyster cake, fried tofu and garlic frogs' legs. For this time, we had the fried tofu, salt & pepper spareribs and French beans in XO sauce. Unfortunately, the oyster cake was unavailable and the French beans had to be substituted for Baguio beans. Even the squid stuffed with kutchay was out of stock. To the management of Coral Garden, what is going on here?? Please ensure inventories of your fast-moving items! The fried tofu was excellent as usual. Maybe the best one can get in Manila. Their tofu is so very soft, and is probably made of Japanese tofu cubes. Their dipping sauce is also excellent with just the right amount of sweetness and saltiness. The spareribs was just OK, but a bit better than what many other small Chinese restos offer. The Baguio beans were quite good, except that their XO sauce is a tad too salty for my taste (I was expecting something spicy, not salty). If you will order the oyster cake, have them do it toasted on the outside for a crunchier effect, while leaving the inside still soft and gooey. This is how we like ours. For those who eat fried frogs' legs, their version is always a winner in my book. They are not that cheap for Chinese restaurants of their size and class. Expect to pay around P350/head for these simple Chinese dishes. Service was OK. Note that they do not serve dim sum (we asked).

Craving for authentic Chinese food ? This is "THE "Place :) a must try is the seafood hotpot and Chami noodles , the salt and pepper spare ribs is just fine , but their menu is almost impossible to resist :) they're open for lunch I think up to 2/3pm then opens again 5:30pm for dinner onwards :)

I chanced upon this place purely by accident. When I went in, I didn't even know what cuisine they served but I told myself to just be brave and try it eventhough I was the only female there and there were 6 old men dining and being loud. The place's decor was very minimal. It's actually as if no thought was given to how the place would look. I found it a bit dismal.I ordered the fresh lettuce with ground beef since it was the only thing that I felt I could finish on my own. Apparently, this place is not friendly to solo dining as almost everything is for sharing.I loved this one. Initially I thought it had too much soy sauce but eventually, the taste blended well and though this was a big dish, I actually almost finished it. I consumed 3/4 of the entire thing. Thankfully, I did not order rice or else. HahahahaThis was my 3rd time on a solo eat and I'm really starting to get the hang of this. :) Coral Garden is located in E. Rod Jr. Quezon City. It's just pass Citibank Eastwood, right beside Unionbank.

One of the best restaurants to eat dimsum and tofu. The tofu is always fresh, it doesn't have a sour after taste unlike any other. Fried chicken also a winner. Reasonably priced.
