One of the first resto that I tried when I first visited the famous Maginhawa Street and it never failed me. Their nachos are so mouth-watering and was served in a very generous amount. I couldn't even eat my Quesadilla Con Carne after that which also tastes sooo damn good. I am a fan of lemonade and their's taste so fresh and not the commercialized concentrated-types.

Just along the busy food street of Maginhawa we bumped into this Nicaraguan-Mexican Restaurant. The place is quaint and a little bit small and have this Mexican feel when you dine inside. We had Brick Oven Roasted Rosemary Rub Quarter Chicken and their Nachos Supremo Todo plus some Lemonada. There is nothing ordinary with the chicken but their Nachos is really delicious with all the cheese and toppings. The staff are also polite and accomodating.

Went there for breakfast. Place was quaintly small and has a vintage shebby feel to it. They serve usual breakfast menu; pancakes, omelettes, american breakfast, continental breakfast. Prices can be to steep for breakfast meals but it's totally worth the serving and the taste. Their hashbrowns are great too! But they don't have coffe thougj that time.

The chef of Cocina Juan is an an artist. He can turn Modern Filipino Cuisine into a sophisticated work of art. He is very good at using garnishes. I heard he worked in cruise ships overseas which explains the significant influence of international cuisine in his plating style. The only catch is there are no wines or alcoholic beverages to match the otherwise world class dishes. Cocina Juan is a must try!

The food is great. Servings are huge. Taste is great! Considering thr food's price, it's a two thumbs up!Theme and ambiance are cool. Although the place is a littlle bit... little. So if you have a big group of friends, this will be a problem for you. Chairs and tables are also provided outside if you want to smoke or just want to dine outside. It's located along the road so going there will not be an issue.

I first tried Cocina for their cupcakes, which was a good deal since it was just around 50 PHP. I tried red velvet and a chocolate cupcake, definitely soothed my sweet tooth. The second we tried Cocina, they had no CHICKEN (a predicament on our side: deeply saddened us up until know) so we ended up eating HUNGARIAN SAUSAGE (sad). They serve large meals so being full wasn't a problem, yet the pain of the lack of chicken still lingers.

The place's facade was really inviting and that's what lured us in.We ordered nachos, quesadilla, soft taco, and rib & shrimp. The nachos and soft taco were forgetable. The beef in the taco was overseasoned. The quesadilla tastes just like any other quesadillas available around the metro, but the spicy salsa that comes with it makes it better. We paid extra for more salsa. Then we had beef and shrimp. The beef was good and the shrimps were cooked just right. The dish has a side of coleslaw that was more like shredded cabbage and carrots with no dressing. They had only 2 service staff members when we visited. We asked for table napkins, and we got handed a table napkin holder with 2 small thin sheets. They served us our drinks in a pitcher but didnt give us glasses; so we asked for glasses. When they served us the ribs and shrimps (serving for 2), we had to remind them of the plates and utensils. They gave us 1 plate with a spoon and a fork. So we had to ask for another set. We asked for dinner knives for the beef, they gave us only 1 knife.Except for maybe two tables under huge umbrellas, diners eat under the stars. So come when the weather is clear. No one's at the gate to welcome diners in or to keep others out. Throughout dinner, we got approached by kids asking for some change. We didnt mind giving change to kids a few times, but preferred to do that while not trying to enjoy dinner.

Cocina Juan's original location was still in Maginhawa street but the place was a little smaller compared to their new place.Like any establishment in Maginhawa, Cocina Juan's new spot is a typical residence converted into a restaurant. Most of the dining area are situated in an open space, more like a garden setting with trees, plants, and some hanging lights. The table and chairs are still wood-type (just like before) but somehow comfortable...at least for me.I ordered Quesadilla Con Carne and Pork Belly with Chimichurri. The Quesadilla was good but the meat was a bit salty. I like the Pork Belly. It was served in style. I'm not quite sure what the sidings were but it tasted like crunchy spinach and crispy, thin potato sticks. The meat was tender and flavorful. It hs that sweet taste. The serving though was adequate for one person...not really advisable for sharing.Overall, their food are good. Can't wait to try more of their dishes especially their taco and burrito.

Churrasco fiesta!!! Ole!😜If you have been to Maginhawa St, you have surely passed by this nondescript resto, identified by the red chili in front. It's been here for years, but it's not as popular as, say Crazy Katsu or Pino... But it is a good place to hang out, very affordable, decent food and super chill! 👌👍👌👍
