It's a small, cozy restaurant with two floors of dine-in space, though I haven't gone upstairs yet. The air-conditioning is relaxing and among my visits, it's never difficult to get a seat. I like that they gave me a newspaper to read during my last visit.Service was at par to expectations. Waiting time is reasonable and the dishes are always worth the wait. The place is always clean too!Among their comfort food choices, I tried the Honey Glazed Chicken Rice Bowl and it was just downright amazing! This dish isn't typical. I love the sauce with sesame seeds, slightly crunchy coating, and the soft meat! Everything stayed very hot even after picturing them. Serving is good for 1-2 people, though I actually felt I could split the bowl in 3 to cover breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I'm using all-caps to say it's HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to try.

We got there at about 8pm... There were few parking slots but we were able to snag a space in front of Figaro... We entered and was warmly greeted... I gravitated towards the table nearest the entrance, but the waiter asked us to move because it was already reserved... No sign that it was, but okay no problem... We moved to the middle table instead...We were given the menus and we took some time ordering... There were a lot of food choices and at very reasonable prices, so I was excited!😊 I asked the waiter which dish he would recommend and all he said were the ones with hearts on the sides are their best sellers... Ummm, yeah I can read... But there are definite specialties of the house... So he was of no help... I finally just went for the Vigan longganisa, which came with a free Americano... I opted to have the drink changed to red iced tea... My SO tried the bangus sisig, which already comes with rice... Then we ordered the crispy tofu with Japanese dressing, apparently one of their sellable appetizers... Then, coffee jelly for dessert. We asked for water, to which the waiter replied, with ice or lukewarm? Iced please! And with that, we waited...So they had very fast wifi, which entertained us as we waited... Other tables filled with what looks like their regulars... Yung tipong first name basis with the waiters... So whatever, we just continued to mind our own beeswax...Our appetizer came even before our drinks... So we followed it up... A different waiter came to the table... Can we please follow up the water and iced tea?, I ask... He asks what our order was... I just said we ordered the Vigan longganisa and the bangus sisig... He proceeds to explain to me that the longganisa comes with an Americano... I said that I know, but I changed it to iced tea... C'mon I'm following up an order, not placing a new one... 😳So the longganisa and sisig came, before the drinks, I might add... On to the food, the tofu was okay for me... The longganisa was likewise just okay, nothing special... I wish I just ordered the chicken parmigiana, but as I was offered no assistance, I just went for the longganisa... So medyo hassle na pinagsisihan ko after... My SO thought the bangus sisig was okay... In general, they have very generous servings with an eye for presentation, I might add! Lovely vegetable cutouts decorated the plates... But where are the frigging drinks?! As we watched the other customers being served their food and DRINKS before us, we are left to wonder why the heck it was taking so very long?😡 The waiters had time naman to joke with the other customers, what's so hard about giving us water? On our second follow-up, the iced tea and water finally came... Water for my SO lang, btw... Hello... I had to ask for a glass for myself as well... Ano ba, naka-metro ba ang tubig kaya di mabigyan ang customer? Yun ba? Grrrr! How many times must we ask for a glass ba?My SO tasted the iced tea and decided he wanted one for himself... He caught the attention of one of the waiters and ordered an additional iced tea... bottomless po ba? Yes... And guess what?????? Ang follow up question- ilan pong iced tea? WTH? Ummm, so sino ang iinom ng pangatlong glass ng iced tea? Sorry, di ko napansin na uhaw pala yung imaginary friend na kasama namin... HELLO! Naman, di naman bawal mag-isip...😡 pigilan ang sarili, note to self...😠So medyo mala-exorcist na ang mata ko sa kaka-roll paulit-ulit... 😱 as we were eating, my bf wanted a refill of his iced tea... We tried to get the attention of the not one, not two, but THREE waiters joking around and hovering over some notebook... Ang wave at pagtayo, walang effect... Ang pag tawag ng pare, sir, Kuya at waiter, wala din... Nakaka-pikon pa na tumatawa lang sila sa isang side... Ano ba?! Break time?😤The table of med reps nearest the counter got alarmed already and they helped us call the attention of the waiters... Ah, ganung level na... Lumapit yung favorite ko sa kanila... Syempre ang reaction ko- Ahh, busy???😠 di nya na-get at nakita lang nya ang gestures ng bf ko for more iced tea... Oh, but after filing the glass and bringing back the pitcher to the counter, he came back to the table... Why did he come back? To ask me, Ma'am may tinatanong po ba kayo kanina? Haller!!! So I repeated my question-- Ahhh, busy? With more obvious sarcasm... Buti naman medyo tinablan na ng konti... After we finished the just okay food, we called one of the waiters again for the dessert... I said that we ordered the coffee jelly. He looked surprised and hurriedly punched the order in. Wwwwwaaaahaaaw!!! Ano ba, nananadya na lang ba tayo tonight?!😤😤😤😤😤 tinanong ko talaga kung di ba sila nag-uusap habang naglolokohan sa likod... The coffee jelly took sometime to be served, as I suppose it was not punched in beforehand... And seriously, nothing to rave about... I suppose the manager, Ms. April apparently, had no idea it was happening kasi NADALA na kami... Parang na-feel namin na wala na din namang mangyayari, so let's just leave and NEVER come back... I'm sorry, I am very impatient in terms of service because I'm also in a service related, high-stress, no-nonsense industry with high stakes... I don't like poor or slow service... There is ABSOLUTELY no excuse for it... But my SO has a waaaay higher tolerance than me and he left PISSED. They were so chummy with their regulars and good for them... But I have no patience for the poor service and insensitivity the staff has displayed... Lack of knowledge about the menu, lack of sensitivity to the customers needs, and jeesh I don't even want to say what else was lacking... Super disappointing service and overall experience... Di nakaka busog ang INIS guys... Bad service really can ruin the experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sobra!!!!!!!!!!!!!Good for you if you had a decent experience here... But I'm sorry, we are not fans...😡😠😤

Searched for the best restaurants in Banawe QC and one of the results was Chef Robert. There was no parking slot available so I parked at the nearby Z-Square. The Beef Kare-kare was reasonably priced at PHP265 for sharing. The Honey Glazed Chicken was superb. But what surprised me was the 30% discount during happy hours between 2-5PM. My bill was PHP 800+ and I only paid PHP569. Looking forward in visiting soon.

We tried chef robert for a feature in when in manila. This is a hidden gem found along banawe st. Parkings are limited best if you go there on a weekday. True definition of comfort food , every bite is overloaded with flavours. And the food comes with a genuine history along with it. Have a chat with the waiter and they will tell you the history. What i love about this place is the owner who runs the place is also the chef. So youre sure the quality is consistent.Food-10Price-7Ambiance-9Service-10

This resto is overrated! As far as my orders are concerned, nothing spectacular in terms of taste except for the hamonado which was tender and tasty. Their cream of mushroom was too salty beyond human consumption, salad lack dressings and pasta was too bland! We complained to the server but he just gave them a quick glance, that's about it, nothing changed nothing happened. The server needs to undergo basic hospitality training, I was billed just when I'm about to pop a slice of egg into my mouth, I even asked if I really need to pay immediately in the middle of my meal, he answered yes if I'm going to avail the happy hour discount. What kind of silly rule is that?!? Can't he wait till I finish that particular dish? As long as the diners are within the time frame of happy hour, give the discount, no need to demand payment in the middle of our meal, it's really rude on the waiter and management part. My precious 3 stars is for the hamonado only and yes, for the nice presentation of the turon.

When I first came to this place I was happy with the service, food and everything. I found the room cozy and comforting which is only fitting to their theme of comfort food. I really liked the free stuff such the free pen and voucher for a free cake when you visit again. The staff was also kind enough to follow the special requests of my grandparents. Back then I would've given the resto 4.5/5But after visiting one more time I found the out the true colors of the restaurant. The food was not as good as it was before and not to mention the very long wait just for a ceasar salad that really got my granparents mad. After having a disappointing meal i overheard another customer beside our table that was complaining yet the waiter didn't seem to care and that really got my blood pumping. To top it off the bill took longer than it should've and me and my grandparents were happy to be out of that place. I also had a friend who tried out the place a few days ago and his remarks were the same as mineThis is a place that i won't be going back to for a while and i don't recommend it for anyone at the moment.

There were more breading than cheese, and I’ve tasted better ones for about the same price. Second, the salad roll was a flop. I know the costing of every ingredient in that salad since I’m an avid kani salad eater, and it was overpriced for just a few pieces of rolled up vegetables and a little bit of crab meat. I have eaten a more hearty kani salad, for the exact same price and I’m sure I’d be satisfied with that one serving already. Now, the reasons why I keep going back are these:The Stuffed Tonkatsu, is da bomb. I ALWAYS order this one. From one bite, it’s like tonkatsu and takoyaki in your mouth, so if you love takoyaki and pork, go for this one, plus, the serving size 👌🏼. The pork cutlet was okay. I’m not a huge fan but the SO is. Imagine a burger steak minus the burger plus the tonkatsu, that’s it. These two are usually served with rice, but the last time the SO and I ate here, we ordered these in ala carte and ordered Japanese Fried Rice, I don’t know if I was just hungry that time but it was hella good. Partner that Pork Sisig (since it came first and then the rice), awesome. 👍🏼 But that sisig’s price though... I know a good place which serves the same amount and taste of their sisig at a lower price. Pumpkin soup was meh. I like rich and creamy pumpkin soups, this ain’t one of them.Ambience - 3.5Service - 4.0I’ve read people complaining about service but so far, in my past 5 visits, I haven’t had a bad experience.Cleanliness - 4.5OVERALL - 3.8 (Rounding up to 4.0)

Comfort food at its finest, relaxing jazz music, a totally romantic Friday dinner to end the work week!It has been a while since our first visit here at Chef Robert’s and I must say, their good food sticked to mind and tastebuds!Food and serving are ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️s. We ordered their Lucky 7 Meal for Two (P770) as follows:We had Cream of Mushroom and Pumpkin soup. Loved the savory creamy mushroom soup with tidbits of mushrooms in it. Doesn’t taste like its out of a can at all. Its like its freshly made. I thought the pumpkin soup will fare better than it but turns out, we should’ve had two of the mushroom soup instead. The mushroom soup was sooo savory that I think the pumpkin soup needed a bit more seasoning too. I can’t really forget the taste of it (to think I only had a couple of spoonfuls of that soup since my partner wanted it more too)! For our mains, we had Crispy Kare-kare and Cheesy Chicken Rice Melt. The Crispy Kare-kare is actually Lechon Kawali served with Kare-kare sauce with veggies. You get a whole slab of lechon kawali with a large portion of kare-kare sauce on the side. The meat was cooked to perfection and every bite is just crunchy all the way! Sauce alone was a bit sweet for my taste but partnered with their bagoong? Boy, was it good! The Cheesy Chicken Rice Melt melted my heart away! This has been a favorite since our first and it didn’t disappoint! If you’re a fan of melted cheese (and fried chicken fillets), don’t miss out on this yummy goodness! It was actually too cheesy (but not too salty) that it covered the taste of the chicken. But its still good overall. As part of the meal, we also had unlimited red iced tea (in our case, just a pitcher of it) and a coffee jelly for dessert for a sweet ending. Ambiance and value for money are ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️s. We had the place to ourselves. They also play a jazzy relaxing music on the background that we felt like we wanted to just stay there and eat. Maybe they sound pricey thus some might just pass by them (not to mention there are a couple of all-you-can-eat restos nearby). But really, you get your money’s worth here. Service is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️s. The waiters were warm and accommodating. When we asked for extra croutons for our soups, they immediately went back (up) to the kitchen to fetch us some. They also served our food one after the other (note that their kitchen is upstairs and we can actually hear their hurried footsteps, kudos for being on your feet sirs! Highly appreciated!) except for the coffee jelly which was served a couple of minutes more, its ok nonetheless. Indeed, #IHEARTCHEFROBERT ! 😍
