Yey ! My first review at website. I'll just give a fair grade to start of my first review. A friend of mine(a chef) and I had spent lunch at via mare. We ordered Kare Kare, Tokwa't Baboy and Paco Salad(a fern plant) . Serving was quite good for 2 people. we actually had to order another round of cup of rice. Our experience in this restaurant is good. Y'know, it's whom you eat with and the choices of topics you talk over. I may have to comment on some of their dishes. The Kare Kare is cold when they served it. Ok lang. But next time, hopefully its served hot. The mango juice that we ordered was kinda sweet, it should be lessen by 10% or so.O yeah!

A filipino restaurant with just a normal twist. The price is a bit high and the servings are just average. Nothing extra ordinary for my own point of view. But if you are craving for pinoy merienda, this is the place to be.

We eat here every now and then especially when I crave for their Kare-kare. I also like the Pancit Luglog. Some of their food are good enough for sharing.I also got to try the oysters. I'm not a fan of oysters-there was a time when I ate at a different restaurant and the oysters that they served weren't that fresh. Since then, I've avoided eating them. But the oysters at Via Mare are definitely fresh.

Cafe Via Mare Trinoma is located INSIDE the Landmark Department Store. We had to go around a bit before we found it. Anyhow, we started off our lunch with an order of Ensaladang Bagnet (P195) which resembled big bacon chips in the menu photo. Nice concept, would've worked if the bacon-like bagnet was actually crunchy. It wasn't. It was makunat and it wasn't even hot when it was served. I regretted ordering it.My hubby and 2 kids all ordered Vigan Longganisa (P325). It didn't look quite as impressive as it did on the menu photo but according to them it was pretty good. Albeit hubby also commented he didn't feel it was worth P325.I had Spicy Tuyo Flakes (P198). It was served with scrambled egg + tomato. It was okay, nothing to write home about. You can probably make this at home, just buy any bottled gourmet tuyo.We also tried Pancit Luglog (P230). It was good, albeit merienda-sized.For dessert we ordered Palitaw (P55), Halo Halo (P112), and Guinomis (P95). The Palitaw reminded me of the palitaw my grandma used to make so yeah, it was good. Hubby said the Halo Halo was pretty ordinary. I enjoyed the Guinomis -- it wasn't overly sweet.I found my Cafe Via Mare experience quite confusing. Food is bordering on average to a little above average. Pricing is a mixed bag. Some dishes are reasonable while some are strangely expensive -- like Beef Caldereta at P450 and Adobo Flakes at P335.I didn't really fancy the venue. I felt the air-conditioning wasn't cool enough plus it's weird to be dining in front of clothing racks. I'd probably consider going back to another branch for merienda. I'd order stuff like Palitaw, Bibingka, Puto Bumbong, and Tsokolate Eh. I don't think I want to eat in this branch again.

Love love love the puto bumbong, bibingka, shooters and and of course, the brewed coffee! Palabok is a bit pricey but still great, highly recommended hidden gem inside the dep store. 😊
