Excellent Ensaladang bagnet (maybe a little bit more greens please), pancit luglug, and bibingka with queso de bola and itlog na pula. The kare-kare could be more seasoned, peanuty, and do 30 more minutes of stew to be a tad more tender. I didn't care for the fried tilapia too, with the weird, unidentified, white sauce.

Hello Sweeties!I usually pass Cafe Via Mare located at the GT Toyota Compund every working day but I never found the time to dine there. I am thankful to get this opportunity to taste and enjoy these exceptional Filipino Dishes.I got to taste the following:Enseladang BagnetIt was strange sight for me to see sinfully crunchy bagnet in a bed of healthy greens. Somehow it works. I am tempted to just pick on the crispy bagnet but I held myself back, together with a light vinegarette it a great appetizer for the next dishes.Fiesta Rice (fried rice, salted egg and tomato) I am a fan of fried rice, I can actually dine on just this alone.Crispy Pata I tried to retrain myself from eating too much but I failed, the pork was just soo crispy and mouth wateringly good.Pinalutong na Tilapia A different twist to the usual tilapia dish. I consider this tilapia chicaron. Kare-kare I have always favored Kare-kare in all shapes and form. This reminds me of the Kare-kare from scatch my Mom used to make when I was very young, also with the homemade bagoong. Kare-kare is love. For dessert::Bibingka Casava I love the soft mild taste, a small portion feels very filling.Puto Maya This is a unique dish, that reminds me of the sunflowers in the main entrance of UP Campus. The Mangos are a bit sour but it compliments the maja blanca and sesame seeds. It was such a satisfying meal. I know my husband would love to dine there when he comes home for his yearly vacation.

Horrible service. Super unattentive waiters. Food was super bland(think they forgot to put flavor on it). I've always loved their meals but now its just waste of money. Soooo disappointed. Please change ur staff. -_-

The bright sunny venue was a breath of fresh air to the restaurants in the area. Aside from the fact of having that ambiance to add to the mood of their diners (we went there to celebrate my cousin's graduation), it surely made food photos more radiant. Hehe. No need for filter. :)Aside feom the venue, of course, Via Mare has been around for years because of their food. We ordered their Crispy Pata that was so crunchy and feels like the skin just melts in your mouth. We loved their Ensaladang Pako with its sweet refreshing vinaigrette. Another favorite was the Oysters Parmesan, oysters baked to perfection. We also ordered their Kare-kare, Fresh Lumpia, Palitaw, and Pinalutong na Tilapia. Aside from the food we ordered, our family also loved their bibingka and puto bumbong. 😊Venue was just a bit packed when we dined since it was UP's graduation day. Good thing they accept reservations.

I must say I would have given Cafe Via Mare in UPD a much higher rating if it were not for the kind of service we received last August 15, 2015.  We hosted a dinner for one of our balikbayan friends and we picked Cafe Via Mare because we knew we would get good Filipino food.  The thing is, I bought my 2 kids and 2 yayas with me.  I requested for a separate table adjacent to the ones occupied by me and my friends for my yayas so that they can freely attend to my kids without disturbing the "catching up" happening at our table.  I ordered food and drinks for my yayas and kids and thought everything went smoothly.  Unfortunately, I only found out the day after that my yayas were mistreated by the waiters attending to us.  You see, my eldest played with the ice in one of the yaya's glasses and one of the yayas requested the waiter to give them a replacement. She was told there was no ice.  I think I remember that I also told the waiter to bring them ice that's why they were given some albeit after a very long time.  Then the yaya also requested for a new glass and she was told that Cafe Via Mare had no glasses anymore. Unbelievable! I can not believe that at this day and age, there'd be this kind of discrimination.  We were paying customers. My yayas did not deserve to be treated that way. As for Cafe Via Mare, I called them yesterday to talk to the manager.  However, she was not around but I was able to talk to their senior waiter.  I hope they do an appropriate action on those rude waiter/s. They have no place in the restaurant business. I hope the management of Cafe Via Mare will not tolerate this kind of behavior.  From now on, I'll be really thinking twice before deciding to eat at Cafe Via Mare with or without my yayas. :-( As for you guys reading this, it may be wise to check up on your yayas if ever you do bring them to Via Mare or any other place. It's just not right.

Ambiance is good for short meetings and meet-ups but most of the time the place is crowded. They serve big portions for most of the food in their menu. My favorite is the ginataang halo halo which is good for two. They serve it hot and is not too sweet for me. The resto also serves affordable student set meals because the cafe is housed in the Asian Center and is near UP Law.Overall, a recommended place if you're craving for Filipino food.

Pros:Location is convenient specially if you don't want to go through the hsssle of parking at a mall.Place has a light and airy atmosphere and ideal for meeting people.Food is consistent in quality, and the pancit luglog, bibingka, puto bumbong, dinuguan are favorites.Unfortunately,on this latest visit we waited for 30 minutes only to find out our order wasn't placed. We were already very hungry at 2pm and just wanted to have a quick and healthy lunch. The waiter also forgot to return with our request for normal temp.water.Worst,i hadn't eaten yet but my fork already had " tinga " in it.

I'm a fan of their food, but not their service. Every time I go here, I just think about the good food they serve and try to ignore the fact that their servers / attendants are not the best at their job. If they can only improve their service, then they'll get a perfect rating from me.My recommended dishes are:1. Salpicado - I order this EVERY SINGLE TIME. This is a big hit for me as I love its taste and the generous serving. It even comes with fried lumpia with veggies inside. Highly recommended.2. Crispy Vigan Longganisa - This pandesal sandwich is the perfect snack for garlic lovers like me.3. Vigan Longganisa - For a hearty breakfast.4. Bibingka - Just yummy!5. Puto bumbong - Delish!

I first ate here when I had my entrance exam in UP. Staffs are easy to approach since they only customers they have when I visited are two groups, food are hot and delicious too, it is kinda pricey for Filipino food but it's worth it.

Can I just share my thoughts? Your waiters are the most inefficient guys. How much time will it take for you to brew a coffee? How much longer do you give us our check? Service wise? You guys suck. You need to regroup and train your waiters not to slack off and eat Jollibee while your guests grow impatient every damn second that is waited for a cup of coffee. Who manages this kind of Via Mare? It's not...
