My kids' comfort food! This is definitely our default fried chicken place! :) Always ordering garlic soy chicken and sweet potato fries. Also on the menu is the Korean Seoul fried rice and tried their chicken fries and all new bacon hotdog! Not bad dipped in sesame roast mayo.

It has been a long time since I've really roamed around SM North Edsa and The Block so I was really surprised to see that Bon Chon has already replaced Chef's Noodle. I was craving for some good bibimbap, but since I was super hungry, I just went in and tried Bon Chon's Beef Bibimbap bowl meal for PhP 155. The meal consisted of the beef bibimbap, a noodle soup, and a drink. The first to be served was the noodle soup. The soup itself tasted like Japanese's sukiyaki, sweet and salty flavor. Since it has tofu, some spring onions, carrots, vermicelli noodle, and thinly sliced beef, it really reminded me of sukiyaki. However, the difference of theirs is that they put sesame seeds all over it. Moving on to the Beef bibimbap itself which is available in three flavors: original, fiery spicy, and curry. I know that Bon Chon is from the U.S. and bibimbap is not their specialty, but they could have fixed the beef first before including it in their menu. Yes, the other ingredients were really great like the egg strips, seaweed, and carrots, but I didn't enjoy their beef one bit which was supposed to be the highlight of the dish. The beef was too tough to cut so it's difficult to cut it for even distribution in the bibimbap. Plus, it was tough to chew. There was even a part that I had to leave at my bowl because I couldn't eat it. I would have liked the bibimbap better if they used the thinly sliced beef they used for the soup. Finally, I tried their new Bibim fries (P70). The fries comes with sauteed kimchi and chicken skin bits, then it was drizzled with ranch and cheese sauce. It was topped with spring onions. I don't think I'll buy it again. I feel that it's not worth my money. Tastewise, it's neither bad nor good, but the sauteed kimchi doesn't taste like kimchi.
