Recently we were talking about where to find the best kare kare in town. 2 friends said Anix kare kare is supposed to be the best. Out of curiosity i went to try it. As it was placed on my table, i scrutinized it. Color✔️ texture and richness of sauce✔️Tenderness of the oxtail✔️ . As i took my first bite, the first thing i said was ANG TAMIS. The bagoong too was sweet. No savory flavor from the tripe ang oxtail broth. What a let down. I left frustrated with no urge for dessert. Sayang😢

Anix's boasts of delicious Filipino dishes which reminds me so much of my mom's cooking. We love the boneless bangus ala pobre, sizzling seafood, and of course, their signature Kare-Kare! It's a restaurant bar, so you can actually enjoy your beer too! Here the serve beer below zero, and it nicely goes well with your chosen pulutan. You can have your lunch with the family and later on drinks with your friends. Been here thrice already, so keep it up Anix!

Their Kare-kare oxtail is probably one of the best I've had so far. Their Chicken dish (w/ fried potatoes) is also good. Overall, it was a nice dining experience @ Anix's and we'll definitely visit again.

From the foodlist of most social media sites, Anix's Kare Kare has been part of some of it. It's an old, old restaurant, from how it look. It reminded me of an old steak house along Sct. Borromeo and Alavar's in Sct. Fuentebella back in the 90's.We were curious about their karekare, how ut became part of the 'best/good' list.We ordered their kare kare and inihaw na bilao. The kare kare was the usual but can be better. I dunno if time brought down the quality from being the good ones in the metro. The sauce was lacking the richness of the meat and is sweet. Sweet not from peanut butter, more on sugar. The consistency was thickened with slurry not rice. It lacks most of the qualities I look for kare kare. The inihaw na bilao is mixed grilled seafood items and a pork belly. The porkbelly was burnt to the point of a large shrinkage and chewy. The vinegar served on the side was good. I'd rather go to another restaurant and get their boodle platter, which is wayy much better.Anix's house of kare kare may have converted from a famous karekare to a surviving drinking place.#TheFoodCrawlers #OngaFoodprints #TheLostDiego

Friday Club strikes again... this time we tried this place as suggested by one of our colleagues. It's such a big place, homey, & spacious. The plan was to order their classic kare-kare & lechon kawali. We were only 6, 2 were not able to join us. The crew suggested to replace our lechon kawali w/ crispy pata, & I added the ginataang suso, which I have been craving for for the past 3 days. Their kare-kare & crispy pata were to die for. Not all suso were good, 3 pcs tasted so gross but yes, it was still a happy tummy experience for the Friday Club. An iced cold Coca Cola best suited our 3 choices.

My family and I always choose Anix's House of Kare-Kare over Max's (Im not against Max's, their foods are also delicious). There's something special about Anix's foods. Though its kind of expensive but I can reassure you that they have the best Filipino foods I've tasted. Especially of course their kare-kare and crispy pata. Everytime there is a family celebration we always celebrate it here.

My husband North's aunt was admitted to the hospital for high blood pressure and fluid found in her lungs. We stopped by to visit her, and I pray that she'll be all right. We stayed for about... Half the day. So by dinnertime, I was starving! His familia suggested this place and it was my first time there. To be honest, I never would've gone if it weren't for my husband. From the outside, it looks like a typically bar/restaurant where people go to drink all night. Well, I don't go out at night and I don't drink, so this place would have never crossed my mind. But, don't judge a place by its appearance! We ordered their best sellers:Classic Kare-KareAnix's is known for their kare-kare, but it was all right for me. With kare-kare, I only like eating the vegetables, and this dish has plenty of that so I was happy! :)Boneless Bangus a La PobreThis. Was. So. Amazingly. Good! I love bangus! And I was so happy that it was boneless. Hahaha! Inihaw na PusitThe sauce for the pusit (squid) was delicious, and the squid was so tender. I'd suggest though stuffing it with tomatoes AND onions and not just onions - it was a little overwhelming for my taste.Lumpiang ShanghaiTypical fried egg rolls. It was good, but not great. And it was also not bad. Service was slow (I'm starting to notice that the service isn't as nice, wherever mi familia and I go). It took 15 minutes for my husband to get hot water, and we saw that it was actually on the counter, waiting to be served, but by then the water had gone cold. So, it took another 15 minutes for the second cup to arrive. I also wanted to try their bulalo and this one dish with gravy (it was served on a sizzling plate), but what we got was more than enough. Everything here was pretty affordable. I'll definitely come back though... For those two dishes.

Now my go-to restaurant for no frills Pinoy food, Anix serves the best crispy pata in the city. Skin is crispy and meat is so tender and juicy. Yum!Also try their inihaw na pusit (but it is a very small serving), kinilaw na tanigue and mutya soup (it's a seafood cream soup).Service here is also great. The waiters are attentive and friendly.Highly recommended!

ordered their karekare and lechon kawali - nothing special, just ok. Service was slow considering there were only 3 tables occupied. When our orders was served they were not even hot, just a little warm.

One of the best tasting Filipino food! Made reservations for Father's day and though there were only a few tables left, it was delightful to hear Edgar say over the phone "salamat po, sana po makarating sila dito sa amin ngayong gabi." We were greeted and Edgar ushered us to the table, and always remembered my name when he spoke. Very maasikaso. A set menu was suggested but we chose a la carte instead. Our orders:Kare-kare classic, Sinigang na Bangus Belly, Chicken in a Basket (super yummy fries!), Baked oysters (very fresh, we were surprised), Pork Sisig served sizzling hot and mixed at the table, and Lumpiang Sariwa -- all very very good and not scrimping on ingredients! Kudos to the chef. We love dining out and it was really great to know that Anix can deliver not only superb Kare-kare but also the best of their other menu items! Everybody enjoyed the fantastic dinner. You have great service, smiling and well-coordinated staff (even though the place was full!), and obviously good management. Congratulations, we'll spread the word  and we'll be back!
