Our first stop on our website trip last holiday was refreshing. It was timely that the owner was present and he made sure our experience was memorable. He accommodated us well and gave us an ample history of his restaurant and more. Ahi Hawaii focuses on Poke Bowls. This fresh bowl is an influence of Japanese but born in the shores of Hawaii. Its basically your sushi placed in a bowl made more exciting. Interiors does remind you of Hawaii. Inside they try to bring you to Hawaii with apt interiors, photos and surf boards. It's homey and relaxing. When our group arrived we were also the only ones there. We got all types. Kobe named after the Laker legend in its yellow and purple look has mainly Tuna and Tamago, Ahi has Salmon and Tuna. We also had Nani and Ika. Am not sure which one had Spam in them but that was delicious mix. Kaomi was a favorite. It has Seared Tuna with an Asian-Carribean spice rub paired with crispy fried kangkong & mangoes, topped with parsley, drizzled with garlic mayo dressing, sesame oil and sriracha for an extra kick, on a bed of sushi rice. Each bowl is less than Php 200 and it gives you and me a healthier pick on the go. They take time to make and surely worth the wait.

I've tried plenty of restaurants in Maginhawa; I've fallen in love with some of them, and have fallen out of love with most of them. The quality of restaurants in Maginhawa seems to decline over time, but Ahi Hawaii is the rare Maginhawa restaurant that not only stays consistent, but gets better with time. I should know. I've been eating Ahi Hawaii's bowls and spam musubis since my first year of college and I have never been disappointed. It is hands down the best pick-me-upper after a stressful day at university. The ingredients taste fresh, the sauces are delicious, service is fast, parking is easy, and the staff and owner are very kind. Ahi is a must-try!

We visited the place few days ago. The place and ambiance is great. Very hawaiian-ny. I loved the collection of vinyls and the film 50 first dates playing on the TV. We tried out the Ahi and Kobe poke bowls as well as their doughnuts. We also tried their iced tea drink that i think was their specialty although I did not find it that special. I can recommend the place if youre into sashimis and sushi bowls. The seasoning of the fish is great and their special sauce fits well with the combination of all ingredients in the bowl. The doughnuts were good also. It was the lemon cinnamon flavor that we've ordered. I enjoyed the visit because while eating, im also watching a hawaiian themed chick flick that was playing on the screen.
