This place poped up in my website the reviews were quite good so I decided to give it a try.Service : Not bad, not good. I don't really feel comfortable when I go in a place and there are too many waiters. There was one waiter for each table when I was there. Food was served in the times predicted by the waiter. Dished-out without asking which is something I don't like as well.Food : Kani salad: simple but good. The two sauces brought with the dish are really leveling up the dish. It would have been perfect if the mayo was home made.Ramen: not the best I've tried. Only 2 slices of pork, that was a bit pathetic.Chicken teriyaki: well seasoned, far from being the best I had.Japanese panna cotta: OK+, texture was far from a panna cotta. Well you'll say : " it's a japanese panna cotta ", I'll answer you " if it is that far from a panna cotta (visual, texture, taste) then don't call it a panna cotta ".Wines : no wineAmbiance : I like the concrete floor, it looked modern and I love modern japanese atmosphere but the plates were old-style japanese. There is a lack of unity in the design/finition. The japanese music kept on broadcasting the 5 same songs that really irritated me.Putting in frames your "best restaurant in Pasig for January 2017" award everywhere isn't a good idea and shows some kind of insecureness.Prices : For the items described below + 2 local beers 1,100 SC included. Not bad at all.I certainly wouldnt crave to come back but the overall wasn't bad at all.

A nice family lunch on busy Saturday. This is one hell of a gem in this area. All the dishes were perfectly prepared. All the flavors and textures were there. The beautiful ambiance and decor added to the experience. The services was attentive and friendly. Definitely visit this place if you are in the area.

Very goo food but small portions for its price. Better than other Japanese restaurants claiming authenticity. But a bit too pricey for me. Eating here only on very special occasions. 😅

I love the variety of their menu, staff were very polite, although quite expensive but still worth it. I ordered the curry tonkatsu, gyoza, and ramen.

Food is always excellent and always worth every penny especially the melt in your mouth salmon sashimi. And the best sukiyaki so far! Great customer experience not just with the food but also with their staff.

Kinda expensive but I was definitely full after eating here. Authentic japanese rice were served. Great ambience and service; Highly recommending their rice rice meals if you are on a budget

Definitely made living along C. Raymundo ave. so much better! A real gem in the neighborhood. The interiors are a mix of modern and traditional Japanese. The staff are very friendly and sometimes too attentive, but that was ok.We tried their new sushi donut. It's actually difficult to eat but that was expected since sushi wasn't meant to be as big as a donut anyway. Flavor wise, it was delectable! We loved every bite of our sushi donuts. We also ordered spicy tuna salad and tried uni tempura. That's when we realized that uni was better served as sushi and not tempura. The spicy tuna salad was spicier than the other ones served in other restos. For us, that was a good thing because we love spicy food.Everything tasted fresh and authentic. Keep it up, Shinsen!

Pleasantly surprised. That's how I would rate my experience. The problem with Japanese restaurants now is that there's just so many options. Some have focused on ramen, others on katsu, the rest on sushi and other japanese dishes. So for a restaurant to offer the traditional blend of dishes is an achievement on its ownI have to say, their food is good. They didn't skimp on their ingredients. You can really taste the flavor. What's outstanding is how welcoming their staff are. This is a gem in the rough in Pasig.Pro Tip: Parking can be found at the back and they close at 2:30pm and resumes at 5pm.

Frequent diner here. Try ordering okonomiyaki and kani bacon maki. They are bombs! The staff are so nice and the ambiance of the place is relaxing. Good for light meals also.
