Sasa in Capitol Commons is an Asian fusion restaurant that I can finally like, with a good balance of accessible and adventurous selections, solid flavors, and hearty portions. The fourth project in a group of restaurants all starting with S - Splice, Sobremesa, and Sangkap are the others - Sasa's lineup is playfulness and inspired, and avoids giving fusion food the bad rap it often gets. I agree with those who are liking one of Chef Raymar Reyes's original creations in particular: a deconstructed lumpia reimagined as a savory crepe cake: think crispy, addictive pancake layers flavored with sauteed vegetables, teriyaki sauce, Japanese mayo, and bonito flakes ("Fried Yasai Itame"). A more classic looking eggplant dish with mixed vegetables was my second favorite - the eggplant meaty, the vegetables bathed gently in a glossy chicken gravy. That's just for starters. Their soy chicken, offered in two sizes, is accompanied by a very nice ginger dip and sauce that screams for piping hot white rice. Equally familiar and satisfying in taste is their crispy pork belly laid on top of mild tamarind sauce and garnished with pineapple.Their shrimp and chicken laksa is an interpretation (correct me, if I'm wrong) with less coconut than usual, but nicely spicy and accentuated with caramelized shallots and crunchy mung bean sprouts, as well as their lamb shank, cooked pata-tim style, with soy sauce and cinnamon and clove. I've never agreed with leaving prawns shells on for sauce-heavy dishes, like they do with their black pepper prawns, because none of the sauce finds its way inside; I found these prawns presented unnecessary effort, both for cook and diner. There are lots of fruit shakes to choose from, and I'm glad to see a very good sticky rice and mango dessert in the menu, the rice perfectly done and the mango and the coconut sweet. Ice creams are a fun journey all their own, with flavors like kaya toast, suman (or sticky rice), nori wasabi, and curry maple syrup. Nori wasabi and curry maple have a savory profile and I can imagine finishing my meal with the former, but maybe not the latter. This is fusion done well.Congratulations to the owners of Sasa and thank you to them and to website for hosting my meal.

Estancia used to be one of my favorite malls when I was still living a lot closer to this place. It being a less popular choice for mall goers and having free unlimited wi-fi (to compensate for the poor reception), this mall has been some sort of paradise to me. And after two years, this mall has become one of the promising website havens in Pasig City with its numerous restaurants. One of which is Sasa, an Asian restaurant which opened just a couple months back. Hello, Sasa Asian Cuisine!Bright colored walls and furniture are the first thing you’d notice when you step inside Sasa.

Ordered food delivery from here via website. Items were delivered on time and well- packed.Loved the Shrimp & Chicken Laksa - very good coconut milk taste with a fair amount of chicken pieces and a few small shrimps. Soy Chicken was just ok. Gets monotonous eating this dish. Eggplant with Mixed Vegetables was good.

I was invited to try out Sasa by my friend, Alwayshungry.ph for lunch. We tried a variety of their dishes, from their most recommended as well as new dishes on the menu.  Sharing the dishes that we had at Sasa:-Green Mango Shake. Since I'm always into ripe mangoes, I thought of trying out green ones for a change. It was slightly sour yet sweet, a good combination for the dishes that we had. I also like that it had pulpy bits in it.- Roasted Hainanese Chicken. The chicken was tender and I like how it was roasted. The sauce was also good. -Hainanese Rice. Served with sauces: black soy sauce and chili garlic. The rice itself was good but I also enjoy it well with the sauces--combined with their roasted Hainanese chicken.-Cuapao Pork in Mantao Bun. Soft, tasty cuapao. The soy pork is tender, flavorful and tasty. There is a good amount of lettuce to balance with the pork and add crunch. Good balance with the sauce as well. I think it would also be good if it had an Asado sauce on the side (I was not able to request for one but I think they would allow it) for those who are a fan of sauces with their pao (like me). -Beef Rendang with Sweet Potato. The sweet potato and beef were both tender. I can taste coconut milk in it but it was really spicy. (Rendang is a spicy meat dish that originated in Indonesia). I recommend this for fans of spicy dishes. -Singaporean Fish Fillet. Fish fillet is good and tender. Sweet and sour taste served with cuapao.-Mango Sticky Rice. I'm a fan of ripe mangoes but it is my first time to try it with sticky rice and as a dessert. It was good and I enjoyed it; tastes like biko (Filipino rice cake made from sticky rice, coconut milk, and brown sugar) with mangoes.-Fried Pastry with Braised Banana and Pandan Jelly Palm Sugar Sauce. Quite a long name for a dish, not sure if it's the same on the menu since we were the first to try this before they added this on the menu. It's sweet and crispy. It's actually sweetened fried lumpia. -Wasabi Ice Cream with Nori. Yet another ice cream by Chef Raymar that amazed me (the other one was Sangkap's Bicol Express Ice Cream--now named after Kylie Verzosa). I like the contrast between the spicy after taste of the wasabi and cold creamy texture coming from the ice cream.

There's a new Asian resto in Estancia and it has something for everyone! Loved the ambiance which is the first thing you'll notice upon going inside -- modern, cool and inviting. They have both familiar and unique Asian dishes. My personal favorite is the Fried Yasai Itame, a local take on the Japanese dish of veggies and seafood but with our lumpia wrappers and a flavorful sauce. Also love the Asahi prawns, and the Fish laksa. Meat eating friends recommend the Soy Chicken and Lamb Pata Tim, both with rich sauces and tender meat. They also serve my Thailand favorite, Mango sticky rice and they do not disappoint! Sasa is a definite must-try.
