Had lunch here with officemates one afternoon. There weren't too many restaurants where we can eat at in the area, so we opted to try Papa Diddi's. My officemates ordered different variants of omurice, while I chose the Lawyer's Sandwich since I wasn't in the mood to eat rice (as I was pretending to be on diet 😬). We also ordered Pancit Batil Patung, which was apparently a Tuguegarao dish. This was of particular interest to me, as it wasn't your ordinary pansit. It was composed of a lot of ingredients which I couldn't define, but fortunately worked well together. It also had an egg soy broth/sauce that you had to smother over the dish, to make it more flavorful. It could have been a great dining experience, if it weren't for these instances: a) my food was served almost well after my lunchmates were done with their meals. We had to follow up with about three of their staff, who just evasively answered my food was about to be served. How long does it take to make a sandwich anyway? b) the staff who took my order wasn't helpful in helping me choose, when I still couldn't decide what to eat. I asked what was in the Lawyer's Sandwich (ie., chicken?) and all he could remember was that there was cilantro in it. Lo and behold, when I took a bite of my sandwich, I couldn't detect a taste of cilantro anywhere, and c) we had to sit outside because the place was packed and it wasn't a spot you'd like to stay at for a long time--there were flies roaming around and the cars and street pollution were practically on our food and faces. Saving grace of the overall experience was the ice cream. Although it wasn't creamy and texture was very "sorbetes," the flavors were interestingly tasty. I chose the saba and bukayo options--slightly sweet, but really good. Needless to say, will come back here for the dessert. May still eat here again, but hoping for a much better experience next time.

Ice cream cravings with my officematesvlast Monday. Visited Papa Didi's once sgain, just few walks from our office. I had their 2 scoops for only P95, with free cone. I chose Coffee Addiction and Davao Meets Bicol. The Coffee Addiction, there's a strong coffee taste. I loved it as the commercial ice creams were to creamy that coffee taste is bland. Davao Meets Bicol, this one is surprisingly good. Its a dark chocolate with spicy after taste. Its a must try! This place has a very unfamiliar flavors, but you can get free taste first for you to decide🙂

Ordered tres leches and it taste so creamy like pastillas. Good value for money as it only costs 65p for one scoop and add 10 to have a cone. Texture is powdery too which is what I really like.

The food here is sublime. Best place for getting that kind of homey but stylish food when your stressed out. Their ice creams are the best. I love their Bicol meets Davao ice cream or was it Davao meets Bicol?! Haha. Basta! Masarap!!!

I still vaguely remember the first time I visited Papa Diddi’s (which I have yet to blog). And just when I thought that Papa Diddi’s is all about cold treats, I came across its Sapphire Bloc branch and found out that this daddy can whip up savory dishes as well.Hello, Papa Diddi’s!Unlike its cramped Maginhawa branch, Papa Diddi’s Ortigas branch is a lot more spacious and had more interesting interiors. Just look at that book chandelier!

I can distinctly remember their stall during the Ultimate Taste Test 2015. Among all the purveyors that day, their ice cream did make an impression. Though a little icy, I still enjoyed the unique flavor that I had then. Fast forward to now, I was pleasantly surprised that they’ve expanded and even have a restaurant now in Ortigas. Serving up more than just their handcrafted ice cream, it’s time to taste other offers of this restaurant.

Their Bagnet Omurice is awesome! No wonder it's their best seller. Every bite of their bagnet was crispy and the vinegar is a good tandem. The omelette comes with bagoong rice which is a good combination too! 🐷I also ordered Sagada pressed coffee and it's good. I didn't have to put milk and sugar because the coffee just tastes good as it it. ☕️I also tried their Davao Meets Bicol ice cream which is spicy dark chocolate. This one is just superb. 🌶 😭

I enjoyed the their Bagnet Omurice-- a twist to the clamored Ilocos specialty. It felt like eating a local hearty breakfast in a whole different level. Also, don't forget to try their famous handmade ice cream flavors which are very unique to Papa Diddi's.As for the aesthetics, the location exudes this very calming feeling since the decòr is predominantly light with splashes of denim, paired with wooden tables. The floor-to-ceiling windows bring in more light to the place, which complements well with the "dainty library" vibes.
