I first saw this sushi burrito at discover manila. The first thing that popped in my head was it was a large sized sushi. As a japanese food fanatic, I was so hyped to try it! Who wouldn't anyway? As we were looking for a place to eat with savory fried rice, I stumbled upon Nori at website. We ended up eating here instead of having Chinese/Thai food for dinner. Upon entering, the staff greeted us and asked for our orders. We ordered hot seoul and their must-try miso glazed salmon. We also tried ordering their bacon crabstick but it wasn't available so ended up getting kani salad. Both were tasty and superb! For the hot seoul, the meat was tender and juicy. I just wished the slices of pork were smaller because it was hard to eat. Meanwhile, their miso glazed salmon was how I imagined it. The mix of flavors were delightful. I couldn't say anything more because it left me speechless. For the kani salad, I find it small and few. Also, they had peaches instead of mangoes. But the peaches were okay. Their side dish for the burrito was a dip instead of potato chips or miso soup. I wish they'd update their menu to prevent breaking their customers hearts like mine! Because I really wanted to have potato chips then.I can't wait to go back and try their other sushi burritos! Also looking forward to try their lazy sushi and bacon crabstick.

After first hearing about Nori quite a while ago, I badly wanted to try their signature "Sushiritto aka Sushi Burrito" but the idea of trekking all the way to Kapitolyo daunted me. So when I finally ended up there with a friend, we popped by the Gastro Park for appetizers before heading over to this restaurant.Design-wise, it has the literal look of a hole-in-the-wall establishment. It is unassuming and narrow but with two floors. A nice quirk they have is that the walls are covered in old newspapers. It could probably fit 12 people on the first floor and double that on the second.Service-wise, they have a few staff members and seeing as my friend and I were the only patrons at the time, we were quite well attended to.Food-wise, what was a bit disappointing to begin with was how they did not offer actual raw fish on the menu or in the burrito - which I thought a sushi burrito really was.I inquired as to the difference between a Medium and Large sized order. They told me it was in terms of width, not length, which was a little bit odd but understandable. Eventually, we opted to get two Medium sized sushi burritos and would just switch halves with one another.Osaka beef with cheese and truffle rice (Medium P220)As described in the menu it was Japanese seasoned beef, melted cheese, leeks and asian slaw. Everything was definitely there but the beef tasted like STRIPS OF SALT. It did not go well with the richness of the cheese, pungent mix of leeks and dairy-like slaw. It was too much - too many flavors in one roll that they did not compliment each other at all.Shrimp crab aligue (Medium P189)As described in the menu, white shrimp, kani, select crab fat, sweet pickles, cucumber and asian slaw. It barely had any shrimp but did have some kani. We did not taste the crab fat at all, and even if there was - the taste would have fought with everything else in the roll. Again, too many flavors all fighting to stand out. It was an unpleasant battle for our taste buds and personally left my tongue numb. The only thing positively noteworthy was that they came with an interesting sriracha cream sauce on the side which I think is the only thing we actually liked about our entire dinner. After all, I think you can never go wrong with sriracha.Over-all, I giving my experience a 2.5. It was an extremely disappointing meal for me and my friend. I do not know if we were there on an off night (which should not be an excuse) or if we set the bar too high (which I do not think is true). I read nothing but good reviews on website and expected so much more. Sad to say, it is rather unlikely that I will ever come back.

First thing we noticed was that the menu uploaded on website is outdated.Service was quite slow however, the staff was very accommodating. It would be nice if you could offer something to nibble on while waiting for the food to be served.I was excited to try their suhirrito with raw fish (tuna and salmon) but was disappointed to find out that these were not available since the fish had not been delivered. So we settled for the Miso Glazed Salmon instead, mojos (although first choice was the spicy tuna nachos, which was again not available) and ordered the house blend iced tea.The Miso Glazed Salmon was good and it went well with the dips that came with the sushirrito. The mojos were quite too oily for my liking. And as for the house blend iced tea, I was quite relieved that it wasn't just the All My Tea concentrate made out to seem like it was "house blend." I liked that you could really taste the tea in the iced tea.It was overall a pleasant experience and hopefully when we come back, there will be raw fish.

Last week, we were finally able to visit one of the most sought after website districts in Metro Manila, Kapitolyo! The place is known for good eats of all sorts cuisines, ambiance, budget, concepts and so on. That is why when we received an invite to visit a restaurant in the area, we immediately said yes! That restaurant was Nori—A restaurant that serves sushi burrito. According to the owner, its concept originated from San Francisco. As he was inspired by the sushi burrito craze there. Nori also has other items in their menu such as yakitori, rice bowls and noodles. Nori is located just across Kanto Freestyle Breakfast in Kapitolyo’s 1st Street. So if you know where Kanto is, just cross the street to spot where this sushi burrito serving restaurant is. Are you ready to find out more about Nori? Here it goes, let’s EAT!

Such a disappointment.Maybe it's the fact that we got our hopes up or maybe it's the fact that this place doesn't exactly deliver on its promise of "sushi burritos". Let me just ask you: when you think of sushi, what do you think of? Raw fish? Japanese rice? Assortments of seafood, right? Yeah, Nori doesn't have any of those in their burritos. Maybe I'm being a bit too harsh, but out of the 11 sushi burrito items they have on the menu only 4 actually contain seafood of some sort. However, they're cooked, which killed my dreams of seeing sashimi in my burrito. It's kind of saddening because if you go and google "sushi burrito" and check out the images, you'll see what my girlfriend and I expected to eat here. Also, according to a site we checked prior to visiting Nori, this place has been open for around 6 months. However, the place still looks...undone. Hence, it gives off a very unsettling feeling towards the food and the atmosphere. Our waitress also said they'll be adding the "true" sushi burritos coming in April. Which in essence, made us regret coming here even more but maybe there's still hope for future customers.Pros-The burritos are pretty filling, even for the regular sizeCons-Place is kind of hard to find, especially if you're not familiar with the Kapitolyo area. Definitely Waze it if you can.-Menu needs to be updated because it says burritos come with miso soup or homemade potato chips yet our waitress said it had to be ordered extra.-Sushi burritos here are a LIEEEEEEE.The search for a true sushi burrito continues!
