Eng Bee Tin is one of the most well-known Chinese deli brands. They offer different delicacies such as hopia, dim sum and mooncakes. However, did you know that they have a restaurant that offers dine-in noodles and Chinese-style meals? That’s Mr. Ube Rice and Noodle House. Recently, they celebrated their 10th anniversary and they had a 10-day promo wherein you are able to buy a full serving of noodle for only P90, which is a price rollback. It’s the price of the noodle when it first came out 10 years ago. Since it’s just near our place, we took the opportunity to taste their noodles at a fraction of their current cost.

Mr. Ube should stick with his sweets. The food was standard and forgetable. For the price I'd rather dine in Chowking than spend it on bland soup. The establishment is fairly clean.

I finally had the chance to update this.Since I am craving for hakaw again, we decided to eat at Mr. Ube.Ordered Korean Beef, Beef Wonton, Hakaw, Jasmine Tea and Cafe Mocha.I thought that the servings of noodles are not that big so we ordered 2 bowls (there are 2 adults and 1 kid).Korean beef - I ate all the noodles but half-bowl of soup wasn’t finished. It is not that good. The beef is not that tender and there are even visible fats (if that is what you call those) that made me feel like I am chewing a gum.Beef wonton - my cousin who loves noodles and soup of Causeway’s Wonton Noodle Soup did not eat even a quarter of a very small bowl. Well, I also don’t find it delicious. I think korean beef has better soup.Jasmine tea - the scent of sampaguita overwhelms inside my mouth. It was good at first but soonner or later I got fed up.Cafe mocha - a bit bitter cold coffee. Hakaw - the hakaw this time has lots of wrappers. The ones ordered as take out by my sister before is better.Coming back? Not for the mean time.- - - - - - - - - - - My sister and I are craving for hakaw so she went to Mr. Ube on her way home. It was good but not enough to satisfy us so we ended up going to Causeway after having this.I’ll definitely try their other foods next time for a better review.

We’ve had shabu laksa and beef wanton noodles. My buddy said their laksa was delicious but not that spicy. My beef wanton’s soup and wanton was very delicious. The only downside was the noodle was overcooked and the beef serving was very small. Overall, it was a filling experience.

The place is simple but you can see the chef / cook doing the work which is a good thing. Quick service but too bad they ran out of milk tea since we went there at opening hours. The highlight was the new Korean Beef Noodles - slightly spicy only and believe me, really great taste that doesnt need to be super spicy. The chunks of beef are plenty and you can just finish the whole thing! Other dishes are fine but the noodles are exceptional. Prices are good too.Recommended: Korean Beef Noodles. Awesome!
