The ambiance and service is top notch, although it can get noisy when the place gets full. Aburi sushi was supposed to be the highlight based on other reviewers but I didn't find it that good. I ate only 1 though so maybe I should try them all next time haha. The beef tenderloin teppan was very good and sulit for the price. We also ordered the soft shell crab tempura and shrimp tempura. Both were okay. I appreciate that they greeted my mom for her birthday. I noted it down as part of my reservation using website.

We went there on a Saturday night and was quickly seated to our table, servers are attentive and friendly. The salad serving size was quite small so we were quite "bitin" for 3pax. The beef and chicken donburi was nice, served hot. We particularly loved the Aburi rolls, the pieces are quite big and that order itself is a meal already, we actually felt so full because of the Aburi, it tasted great also. Ambiance is nice, especially for quiet and chill dinner with family and friends. Service is great. Utensils and tables are clean. Price could be a little expensive.

This is a nice place in a random location, service is attentive and free flow of green tea is included. Servings are generous and good quality Japanese. Matcha ice cream that comes with the bento is delicious. Definitely a gem in Ortigas.

Minami Saki is a quaint little Japanese restaurant located on the ground floor of the Astoria Plaza Hotel.  The Japanese food is good but not great and this seems to be the norm for most Japanese restaurants in Manila.  I tried the grilled eel on a bed of rice and it was pretty good.  I also tried the chicken teriyaki which was also very good.  The chicken was plump and juicy. An interesting diversion from your typical Japanese faire was the sushi assortment. The sushi assortment was made with a little bit of a fusion.  The aburri sushi was topped with a little bit of salmon roe to give it a little bit of saltiness and texture.  It also sat in a little bit of sauce which also complimented the flavor of the tune.  Additionally we ordered the tuna sashimi and salmon sashimi which were both served chilled and very fresh. The dining experience was pleasant as well.  The lighting was nicely done but the seating arrangement felt a little claustrophobic.  Again, good but not great.

Another hidden gem found. This Japanese restaurant is in Astoria. I love their oyster!! It's the best. Their aburi was so delicious too! It has a small strawberry or grape on top of its caviar. We ordered their astoria sushi roll which comes with salmon on it. Yummy! ❤️ Their scallops were yummy too! They have house tea, both available in hot or cold. Appetizers are free too.

Warm lighting, cushioned seats, relaxing booths with pillows for you to lean back on. The place is clean and organized. The staff is attentive, confident, and know the menu. Service is fast.Their aburi sushi is to die for. I will come back to taste the other items.

Best aburi sushi I have tasted so far. Literally melts in your mouth. I highly reccommend this restaurant to all the Japanese Cuisine lovers. 😋

Best aburi place in Manila. No other restaurant comes close. Their scallops and soft-shell crab dishes are a must-try! Dishes are quite pricey, but worth every penny!

I love eating jap food, and when im in ortigas area, this is one of the places id love to go to. Food is good. Price is ok. But for sake, i find it kinda expensive compared to other good jap resto that weve been to. But overall, this is ok. 👌
