Went here Tuesday 8pm expecting a busy restaurant that is serious about its service. Instead we encountered an almost empty restaurant with servers who didn't seem to care about their customers.Going by previous reviews, we wanted to eat Mushroom Dexelles, Flammekeuche and Duck Confit. Items 1 & 3 don't appear in their menu anymore (that's how much they care about customer feedback) and they've run out of sourdough for the past several days, so no flatbread either. The manager , whom we asked for, helpfully (!) said "we will have sourdough tomorrow".After that disappointment, we ordered a few items, which were just ok. Nothing to write home about. We had their Tomato Tortilla Soup (good), salad with salmon (ok), linguine with truffled cream sauce (ok) and beer battered fish. The last was supposed to come with potato wedges, but they replaced that with chips since they ran out of potatoes, I guess! Better not go to this restaurant whose management doesn't care, unless you're staying in Linden Suites and having their free breakfast buffet.

I wanted to eat and watch the NBA All Star Game at the same. It is one of the few venue that allows you to do that in Ortigas. So I had their Breakfast Buffet Php 550. Its a low score because of the quality of food they serve. I understand its low for hotel food but I'd rather pay higher for better choices. Most of what they had were "cheap" ones you can do at home like Danggit, Sausage, Tocino, Congee, Cereals, Bihon, Eggplant. The only premiere item was the Lechon Belly which was too fatty. Even their fruit choices were weak- Banana, Papaya and Watermelon. I did appreciate them allowing to watch with volume which I did the last time to see the NBA Finals. Good service, bad food.

My family and I went to Mesclun Restaurant and Cafe for Sunday lunch, and it was my first time there. I had heard mixed reviews about the place, so I wanted to try it for myself. Believe it or not, my favorite dish was the complimentary bread with garlic butter. It was toasted just right and was really soft on the inside. Overall a good meal. It started off bad but ended well enough.

The food here is fantastic. The menu here varies from Western cuisine to different types of Asian cuisine. Dishes that are exquisitely authentic and to die for, while dining in a comfortable, minimalist-yet-classy, refreshing-to-the-eyes kind of atmosphere.  ;)

I was invited to attend when The Linden Suites launched the Mesclun Restaurant and Café last October 18. I was told that they would invite us to come back so we could savor what they have to offer. I actually asked Ms Kathy Salenga the director of marketing for The Linden Suites what Mesclun (?mes-kl?n) meant. She said that Mesclun (?mes-kl?n) is widely used as a food term referring to a combination of —or a salad made with— young tender greens (such as lettuce, arugula, and chicory). The true origin of the term, however, comes from old Occitane, literally and simply meaning “mixture”.From what I understood This new dining experience at the business community in Ortigas is inspired by Chef Katrina’s personal travels and collaborations with her team. This is what welcomed me when I came in.bar - This seems to be the focal point of the roomFor starters this is what we had for appetizers:I love their Butter-Garlic and Bread. Warm, soft bread and a tasty garlic herb butter is also served on cool personalized chopping board It was soft and freshly baked the butter went well with the roll. It was so good that I was tempted to ask for another roll of bread.Love this Chicken Dish I just forget to ask the name of the dish but I loved this. The dip that they prepared was perfect. This was another winner for me the Kani Salad the combination of the mayonnaise and the acidity of the Mango was just right and they did not scrimp on the Kani. For the Main Course:Chicken Pesto Cream was also good even if I’m not really a big fan of eating anything Pesto this was good as it did not over power the whole dish.Four Cheese Pizza was also good. For the Surf and Turf I like the tenderness of the beef and seafood was cooked just the way I like it.To be honest I liked the Australian Lamb Chops but didn’t love it.Duck Confit-This hands down was my favorite. The duck seemed to slide right off the bone, and the mashed potato was perfectly done was such an unexpected but pleasant mix with it. What is Duck confit anyway? (French: confit de canard French pronunciation: ?[k??.fi d(?) ka.na?]) is a French dish made with the leg of the duck. While it is made across France, it is seen as a speciality of Gascony. The confit is prepared in a centuries-old process of preservation that consists of salt curing a piece of meat (generally goose, duck, or pork) and then poaching it in its own fat. To prepare a confit, the meat is rubbed with salt, garlic, and sometimes herbs such as thyme, then covered and refrigerated for up to 36 hours. Salt-curing the meat acts as a preservative.Banana Nutella Crepe a la Mode freshly made crepes with bananas and Nutella topped with vanilla ice cream, And not just any ice cream, but Arce Ice Cream, from the same family who once owned the Selecta Ice Cream label…Mango and Condensed Milk Crepe Does freshly-made crêpe with mangoes, condensed milk and vanilla ice cream sound good to you? This is rich, creamy and indulgent, another perfect ending to a great meal at Mesclun. It is so good!!! Worth every calorie

We were able to try Mesclun's food before we stayed at The Linden Suites for Mother's Day. I love the color green theme of the restaurant and the ample lighting inside the place. The lighting was perfect to take nice food photos. I had the best baked salmon at Mesclun. I remember it was so big but I was able to just eat all of it without rice :-) This is also where I tasted the best avocado ice cream by Arce Dairy. On Mother's Day, we also had a taste of their breakfast buffet. There isn't that much food compared to the other hotel buffets we've been but still, the food were delicious, warm, and enough for everyone.  They also fill up fast.

Mesclun is the in-house restaurant of Linden Suites. It was the former Azzurro and Monsoon before. We checked-in at Linden for a night and includes a free breakfast. I'm used to wearing shorts and room slippers in breakfast, similar to other 5 star hotels, but in their case, there's a dress code of pants and shoes. It's abit off, but it's okay. The spread was the usual Filipino choices, omelette, some breads and pastries, and ofcourse fruits. From what I've notice, they didn't serve any American fare like the basic ham and BACON. I got an omelette with everything on it with more onions. I got what I wanted, but served not as presentable as it should be. It didn't look fluffy and it looked like it was wrongly done egg. There are some items that are okay, but most of it wasn't. They could improve on alot of thing in their food, especially how to cook and present the omelette.#TheFoodCrawlers #SplatMNL #OngsFoodprints

During our staycation at Linden Suites I got to try their breakfast buffet which had an adequate offering. Definitely alright for breakfast. They offer the usual breads and cereals but they also have dishes from pork to fish to vegetables. I liked the Fish in Lemon Butter Sauce. For the dessert I liked the carrot cake. At a meeting I was able to try their pasta dish which was delish. Their Power Shake is a must try which gives you everything you need to keep you powered up for the day.

If I'm. ItMistaken, the same owner and chef of the former Cuillere in the fort and chef de partie in Megamall. Mesclun has "eclectic" breakfast choices. Having stayed in linden for a week while waiting for my out house renovations to finish; I've seen paella negra on the breakfast buffet table. Had lunch once, and it was really good, mashed potatoes and the bringhe. Needs a little marketing and I thinkMesclun could break into the restaurant scene.

Our department held our yearly planning session in Linden Suites so we had our lunch in Mesclun. I recall admiring the very creative display of wine bottles on one side (great for photo opps!). The food was elegantly presented and served: a server explained the optimal serving sizes of the roast beef as he places tender slices on my plate, another prepared a fresh white sauce pasta for me as I ordered it. A friend showed me how to add vanilla ice cream to the espresso shots they served; the result was yummy!
