Follow me on Instagram: @astro.adinMost foodies reviewing here in website have tried Max's for sure. It is an intitution here in the Metro. Family gatherings are usually held here with our parents and grandparents always prefer Max's over the other before mainstream Filipino themed giants for family. Up until today, Max's maintained their ground and competes with those giants with some innovations to keep up with them. What I like is their Sizzling Tofu now with a spicy variant. The spice level is not too strong and tolerable even to those who skip spicy flavors. The creamy sauce makes this above all tofu dishes I tried so far. The Tofu itself is on a level in which your tongue will feel it is melting in your mouth. Pork Ribs Sinigang is also a new dish which is also a superb dish. The pork flavor is more powerful here since thet used pork ribs in boiling. The chicken on the other hand doesn't need a review or even an intro, it is good and most pinoys already knows that. For me, I mix their Banana catsup, hot sauce and worcestershire sauce and serve it as my chicken dip and it's perfection along with a perfectly cooked rice (not sticky not loosely cooked)

...it is what it is, the house that fried chicken built remains true to its roots and proves why it has been a staple to Filipino families all these years.

Food: ordered platter with chicken, shanghai, canton, chicken skin, caramel bar and iced tea. Satiating and the price was right for the amount of serving. The platter tasted good actually. But nothing really special for you to order it over and over.Place: Could accommodate big groups. We were here for a friend's baby shower and we were from a graveyard shift. Good thing this branch opens early. Clean.Staff: accommodating to requests.

The culinary haven that is Kapitolyo is studded with restaurants that are mostly not "commercial". Max's is one of those more commercial restaurant chains that are able to penetrate this domain, with its strategic location just a stone-throw away from Kapitolyo's main gate. The menu is generally the same as with the other branches, so is the interior. It's signature product that has spanned generations, the sarap-to-the-bones fried chicken, is still the mainstay dish and is always the most recommended among all the other items in the menu.

Who have not eating in Max??? The tradition is still there and ones in a while you will be looking for the spring chicken sarap to the bone dip it worchestershire sauce and banna ketchup (Before it was Jufran) service are friendly and effecient even though I noticed that there is no service charge on the bill.

I have ordered one whole of their regular chicken plus a box of lumpia shanghai. It was really good. Service was commendable too fast and acommodating.

Kapitolyo seems tired now compared to when it first opened. This was observed with the food served and the restaurant’s overall ambience. Chicken lacked in its time-tested flavour, Sizzling Tofu wasn’t hot enough. Lastly, Sago’t Gulaman was over-sweetened. The place was dim; only half of the lights in dining area were turned on.

Max’s is pretty much the same everywhere, but what I love about the Kapitolyo branch is that for some reason the Sizzling Tofu is much better compared to the other branches. The place is great since it’s spacious and clean. Tbh, this is my go-to dinner place when I don’t have anything to eat at my place.
