Lechon has always been one of the highlights of any festive celebration. We’ve seen it in big events such as fiestas, Christmas gatherings and well… Cebu. I must admit, I already had my fair share of crispy suckling pig but it’s just so hard to resist it when it’s right in front of you begging to be loved or indulged. Screw cholesterol! Let’s YOLO. Okay, using that term might have just revealed that I’m no longer young. Lame lines aside, The website Station tickled my tastebuds once again by inviting me to its website eat up at one of Manila’s classics… Lydia’s Lechon.

Lydia’s Lechon, or simply, Lydia’s has always been known as one of the best Lechon purveyors in the Philippines. Honestly, I never knew Lydia’s had a full-scale sit-down restaurant on this side of town until last week. I was invited here for lunch with a group of website friends and as soon as we were seated, I knew we were in for a treat. I have to say, the restaurant’s interior is warmly set for a peaceful culinary experience.

I like what we ordered here: Pinakbet and Sinigang. No shortage of servings here. Both were enough for three persons.House Blend Iced Tea was nice.I like that the staff work hard to keep the place clean and make customers' stay pleasant by smiling all the time.

Oks lang pero yung dinuguan di mainit saka half kilo lechon puro buto hahaha. Wag na kayo kakain dito. Mabagal pa yung serbisyo. So yun wag na kayo kakain dito

Ever since I had lunch at Lydia’s Lechon’s Roces branch, I have been craving for the combination of Lechon and Pinakbet. On the way home from my daughter’s school, we made a stopover here for a quick lunch. Considering the lunch hour, I was happy to note that there is ample parking and seating inside. We gave in to my craving: the lechon was succulent and its skin was crispy; the pinakbet’s veggies were crisp and firm. We even got fresh buko juice!

I loved it here because of the lechon but the new year's experience was HORRIBLE. THE STAFF WAS UNATTENTIVE. The day before new year, they said the price of the lechon per kilo is 900 and the next day, they raised it. They were also snobbish and it almost seems like they had no idea what they were doing. The attitude they gave, even the female manager (I believe) didn't seem accommodating and they just wanted the customer to go away.

This branch was recently renovated and now much better than its previous small and old ambiance before. If you want to eat a filipino budget meal, this resto is a good option. The taste of their food however is sweet - bopis and pancit to name a few. I would rather recommend to order the lechon paksiw over their lechon that tastes just okay.

We ordered Nilagang Baka and Lechon for dinner. Nilagang Baka tastes sooooo good, the Lechon was just okay for me. The place was clean and cozy. But what I like the most, the crews are very attentive and kind. We asked one of them if we can charge our phone cause we don't have a powerbank that time. We'll definitely come back for the Nilagang Baka 😋
