On our way to a bout of museum visits for our #Saturdate, my daughter and I decided to (again!) give in to our ramen craving and have an early lunch at Don Bao. The resto is located in the website-friendly Kapitolyo area, along a line of eateries near D Ace Hotel. There is limited parking space here so you may want to park your vehicle in the nearby Pioneer Center if there are no more spaces available in front of the restaurant.

My partner and I always look for something to eat. When we saw donbao we immediately decided to dine. Since there's parking space you can easily park here its also not traffic in the area and quite peaceful. We ordered Chiken Teriyaki and Spicy Tonkantsu. I would give perfect points for the chicken teriyaki coz the chicken is crispy and juicy and big serving and its sauce is very very flavory. I would say its worth the price for the teriyaki but not for the ramen. I really love ramen so when i tasted it, it did not meet my expectation. Maybe i expected too much because its a bit pricy compare to the other ramen place i have tried in kapitolyo. Well yeah compare to mall price this is cheaper so maybe its so so. But if i will dine here again i would order chicken teriyaki and bao. I really want to try their bao but im so full. According to them their bao's size is approximately the size of iphone 4. I dont know why others give low rating but for me my experience is good.Oh and they have 10% service charge. So if you want you can order in website instead if you are gonna order ricebowl and bao. The delivery charge might be lower compare to the service charge especially if you are 4 pax above.

Don Bao opened its doors over a year ago - in fact, they just celebrated their first anniversary last November 29 and have already announced that they will be opening a second branch in Makati this 2018. All seems to be doing well for Don Bao, and for good reason. The food here is nothing short of amazing. I kid you not. If you saw the feast we had at Siam Thai, you will know that we were crazy full when we left that establishment. We walked five minutes (maybe even less) to get to Don Bao and would you believe, we were still able to finish everything we ordered?? Masarap kasi talaga.Don Bao highlights dons (rice bowls) and baos (buns) on their menu, but they are not limited to just that. Their menu showcases a number of Japanese appetizers as well as ramen dishes that you will surely love. For starters, we ordered the Gyoza (P130). My friends already know how much I love gyoza, so whenever it's on the menu, we have to order it. Luff you, guys. ♥

We ordered appetisers and a ramen. All food that we ordered is delicious and authentic. Ambience is also very okay. Staffs are all approachable.

If you’re a rice lover and loves japanese food, like me, @donbao.ph is the place for you! We ordered Katsudon and Salmon Belly Teriyaki Don and we were informed that all their dons comes with unlimited japanese rice! 🍚🍚🍚 plus points to their very homey interior and wall murals. 👍

A new resto in Kapitolyo featuring DONburi and BAO, hence DONBAO! the former is rice bowls and the latter buns.We tried Wagyu cubes - 4 small cubes of Wagyu on a stick. Meat is tender and juicy but really too small to appreciate the taste - gone before you know it! Spam Musubi is interesting. Slab of spam on rice tied with seaweed and has Japanese mayo and sesame seeds. Interesting flavor profile and quite unique. P.King Bao is a bun with grilled chicken, cucumber, spring onions and hoisin sauce. Quite tasty.Donbao is located next to Beerhouse and you can drink draft beer while you eat your baos!

Normally their baos are Php120 but if you get 2 just pay Php200. I got Piggy Bao Ride and Bao Chicken Baobao. The names of their baos are pretty witty. Affordable food on a budget.Promo: take a photo of their baos, post on FB or IG with their hashtag and you'll get a free dessert.

It was a long night and it just finished. Every Thursday my team gather to update ourselves on our own food business. One way to research and to learn more about our own industry is to order from competition, and we did that awhile ago. Don Bao was a perfect fit for our group of 9 as they have individual orders of mostly Donburi (Japanese rice toppings) and Bao which are buns Chinese style. They also serve a long list of appetizers to add to our own selected dishes. Meat portions were decent but could be more since the price points are quite high. I got to try Gyudon, its meat could be tastier if it wasn't too thin. Chicken Teriyaki, I got as well and it was a better option with its leaner and thicker cuts. The Gyoza was plump and packed with well seasoned ground meat, this was my favorite. This was also tag as affordable for what it offers. Chicken Karaage was spiced right but it was really mostly skin and breading. For the Baos, it had witty names and creative combinations. Too bad I was too full and missed to try these. Their buns though I find too thick. Don Bao is a new place in Kapitolyo and they do add a new twist of menu to an already busy hub for restaurants.

I've been eating here since it opened. I absolutely love their Baos.I can also only really vouch for their baos since that's the only thing I eat there. Hahahaha! Oh... I do like the Spam Musubi too.For the baos, I really like their spicy ones which are Fire Bao and Bao Chicka Bao Bao. I usually eat this with a sweeter one, the Good Morning, Bao.The Fried Bao with Milo and Condensed Milk is a good way to end the meal. The dessert is big enough to share. The meal is pretty good too with a beer. Hehehe!

Bad business. Food aren't so good. Too pricey for quality, taste and ingredients used. Charges 10% service charge for nothing. Doesn't serve tea.
