Coffee cravings on a Friday. I've been into this since last week. After lunch, we went to a "new", sort of new since its our first time. About 10 mins cab from our office (this includes the traffic). We visited Chef Laudico's Ok Cafe. This coffee shop is located inside Renaissance Condominium compound. Place has white furnishings with yellow lights all over. They also serve pasta and rice meals. But for today, we are on a coffee mode. I had a simple order. I ordered their cake of the day, which is Tablea tart. And this comes with a free mug of Americano (P135). Verdict: the tablea cake tastes like dark chocolate. Its good and not sweet. However, I was quite disappointed with my coffee. Its watery and bland.

Very nice cafe located inside Rennaisance Tower Condo. Great lighting and cozy atmosphere. Food here is generous in serving, and properly platted. Their pizza looks like its cooked in a brick oven, though quit big for its price is a great partner for their other meals. The make great smoothies (its actually more of a shake cause we didn't notice any crushed ice in it).

Been Seeing Chef Laudico OK Cafe on my facebook newsfeed as most of my friends (in Ortigas and Mandaluyong area) has been there already... Recently, I got the chance to visit and dined here as I had a meeting at the 2/L of Renaissance Tower and WHOA!!! this cafe is truly worth visiting frequently. Now, I envy the residents of Renaissance as they are just an elevator away from the Cafe. For those who doesn't know, "OK" stands for "Orlando" and "Kea," the beautiful children of the famous Celebrity Chef couple, Roland and Jacky Laudico.  In the last 7 years, I've been to the different Chef Laudico restaurants (their very 1st brand was Bistro Filipino) and OK Cafe maybe the smallest in terms of space area but NOTHING is small here in terms of their food TASTE and SERVING PORTION.I and my companions ordered OK Cafe's BACON OVERLOAD Omelette (PhP 189.00), CHICKEN ADOBO CONFIT Silog (PhP 189.00), LONGGA STEAK Silog (PhP 169.00) and SUPER yummy ANGUS BEEF TAPA Silog (269.00).F-A-S:FOOD: Super love their Omelette and will definitely come back to try the other flavors. The Angus Beef Tapa was excellent, both in taste and serving portion, the PhP 269.00 price tag is truly WORTH IT.  4-Stars based on the 4 dishes we tried :)AMBIANCE: Clean, well-air conditioned, cozy, strong wifi connection and decorated beautifully.SERVICE: Well mannered people to they still have to improve on ATTENTIVENESS to diners. Wit the size of the cafe, service staff should know already if a guest needs something before being called on.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED... See you there! Cheers!

There's a pretty laid back atmosphere inside. There's soup, pasta, salad, silog meals and sandwiches on the menu (plus dessert, of course). The wait staff were not so attentive even though it was not a particularly busy time. When I entered I wasn't sure if it was a sit down restaurant or if I had to walk up to the counter. There were menus on the other tables which made it look like a sit down resto, but I've been sitting a few minutes and apart from a glass of warm water nobody else came to check if I was ready to order or what.So I walk up to the counter- there were at least 3 staff members there (ok, maybe I need to order from the counter). I asked a question about an item on the menu and nobody was paying attention despite all 3 of them being in front of me. They were all poring over a receipt or something, I don't know.Meals were not hot when they arrived. The mushroom soup (129p) was a tad too salty though the accompanying french bread slice was crispy and seasoned well, perfect for dipping into the soup.Corned beef silog at 229p again just ok. Corned beef, eggs, pickled veg were not really that good on their own but taken altogether in one spoonful with the yellow rice made the balance of flavors more evident. There was also a fly in the room hovering around the table and a tiny insect crawling on my dessert plate. The only good thing I had was the tablea cake slice - rich dark chocolate, perfect level of sweetness. Though it was obviously not freshly baked (texture suggests it's been in the freezer/ fridge for a couple of days now), it was still very flavorful.I'm in no hurry to return, really and walked away with a general opinion that this cafe is appropriately named OK, because that's all it is.

I'm giving 2 stars for now, because it is my first time and I've only had brunch here after my class. The theme is catchy for me - modern, comfy, and relaxed. When I entered, I saw their menu board and looked at them for quite a long time to check something interesting. Their menu is quite impressive, they have soup, salads, pasta, rice meals, sandwiches and other gourmet products. I came up to the "counter" to place my order when suddenly I saw a bunch of menus on the left side. No one from the staff handed me the menu, nor even told me to just take a seat and they'll get my order. I ended up ordering and paying right away at the "counter". I wasn't given any receipt.I ordered Angus Corned Beef (P 229) and Hot Cappuccino (P 109). It's a rice meal with scrambled egg and veggies on the side. The food took so long, like about 30 minutes. The food of the guy that ordered after me was served first than mine, to think that the guy's order is also a rice meal. Good thing I don't have anything to do after my class and so I can spend a little more time waiting for the food without following up.Now for the food, I was surprised by the serving. The Angus Corned Beef is actually a big serving. Will be more than enough for 1 person with small baggage space. I ended up not finishing it because you can really share it. The corned beef isn't canned for sure. It's reaaaaal beef. The only down side was the beef has a weird "lansa" taste like it is and old beef. The rice for me is a little dry and "buhaghag". The whole dish wasn't hot when served. A little disappointed but if they will improve and do better, the value for money will be very evident.I will try again next time and I hope to see better service and food quality. :)
