Feeling the need to indulge in Spanish food? Cafe Madrid (soon to be known as Bistro Madrid) is a great place to start. Aside from its deli offering a wide variety of products to enjoy at home, its homey interior is a good place to experience its dishes up front. Spanish Cold Cuts and Cheese Platter (P395)This is a great starter for those who want to experience the signature kinds of Spanish meat and cheese, including Jamon Serrano and Chorizo Pamplona cold cuts and Manchego cheese. The tangy and peppery meat is contrasted by the saltiness of the cheese, and I recommend alternating both with bites of hot, crunchy crouton to dampen the strong flavors. Croquetas de Jamon Serrano, Pollo y Setas Silvestres (P295)Crunchy, crumbly exterior gives way to a soft, hot, creamy interior. Best enjoyed while hot and with a nice, cold drink. Colgados de Toledo / Hanging Tapas, Toledo Style1) Catalonian Butifarra Sausage (P320)2) Piggy High (P295)3) El Buey Feliz (P320)These tapas are served on metallic skewers that hang vertically from a rack, allowing the juices from the meat to drip on the little dishes underneath to lend them some more flavor. These dishes contain either sautéed white beans, an earthy lentil stew, or diced fried potatoes. A great meal and a great subject for pictures. Bistro Madrid Gran Paella (P650)This familiar saffron yellow paella comes mushrooms, tomatoes, baby squids, mussels, tuna belly, and chorizo TERRY. Worth the wait. Leave it to cool for a while so that the rice as the bottom hardens into that crispy, crunchy crust that provides another experience that mustn't be missed. This is best paired with...Lamb Shank in Chilindron Sauce (P650)The highlight of my visit to Cafe Madrid. The lamb shank is huge, and the meat falls off the bone. The sauce is rich and bursting with flavor thanks to the olive oil and wine in it. I am glad to have tried this as it is the first time that I never had to ask for a lemon slice with my lamb. This is something I highly recommend with a paella.

On our visit at Cafe Madrid, they introduced their newly launched Lolea Sangria. A traditional and popular drink in Spain that is perfect for social gatherings and celebrations. On their launch, they let us taste and have a drink of the red and white Sangria. Each bottle of Sangria have their own secret blends, natural ingredients with a combination of wine and fruits - these makes the drink very refreshing and light and a little bit of sparkling feel.I loved the Red Sangria better than the White but equally they have distinctive flavors everyone will surely enjoy. The Red one has cinnamon, cherry, sour strawberry taste while the White one has a subtle hint of vanilla, jasmine, apricot and citrus aromas. Noticeably, the wine bottles have opaque cover all over the bottle that are different to the usual wine bottles and they have white and red dots which kinda relates to their spanish tradition. This design is combination of modern, lively and exciting vibe. What is Sangria celebration without the scrumptious dishes right? So we had the following:Lamb Shank in Chilindron Sauce. The lamb meat was seasoned with a very mild spicy and sweet taste. The lamb is succulent, soft and perfectly infused with the chilindron sauce.Cafe Madrid's Gran Paella. This paella brings spain into our plates. Very full, vibrant, ultimately seasoned well complete with baby squids, shrimps, tuna belly, mussels, mushrooms, and a lot more. Very mouthwatering!By the way, the appetizers like the Cold cuts and cheeses, potato croquettes, crunchy baby squid calamares are also delicious. One of the things I remembered were the Hanging Spanish Savory Dishes - they call these hanging skewers "Colgados de Toledo."3 of these were served:1. Piggy High, a chorizo flambeed in sherry brandy served with lentil stew. I kinda enjoyed watching it while being flambeed on a pig shaped griller. The lentil stew is a quite healthy and nice pair for their chorizo.2. El Buey Feliz, grilled ribeye cubes served with espanola sauce and your choice of onion rings or deep fried potatoes drizzled with Valdeon cheese sauce. The tender meat with a rich kinda sweet, savory sauce with cheesy potatoes is satisfying.3. Catalonian Butifarra Sausage, served on Alioli diced potatoes or sauteed white beans. The sausage is perfectly spiced while we paired it with the yummy white beans. You can buy the Sangria bottle for 725 Php and other wines at the counter with other Spanish goodies. The food on the menu are very affordable, we had a great dining experience and definitely looking forward for another visit. Kudos!

Right at the back part of Estancia Mall lies a hidden gem in Pasig that serves authentic Spanish dishes. Paired it up with their Lolea Sangria and now we have a party. Good times indeed!Lolea Sangria is a traditional and popular drink coming from Spain and was brought here to Philippines for distribution. There are two versions that was brought here, the red and white, both had its secret blends that gives life to a celebration per bottle that you open. Of the two bottles that was released, I liked the white version as it was very fruity and I really enjoyed it. It costs around 725.00 php per bottle. And of course the food. Everything was well-seasoned and tasted so great. It's as authentic as it can be. Here's what was served:Bistro Madrid Gran Paella (650.00 php) Lamb Shank in Chilindron Sauce (650.00 php) Colgados de Toledo / Hanging Tapas, Toledo Style- Catalonian Butifarra Sausage (320.00 php)- Piggy High (295.00 php)- El Buey Feliz (320.00 php)So if you are looking for authentic Spanish cuisine, say no more and drop by the resto for good food, good wine, and good vibes.

Formerly known as Café Madrid, Bistro Madrid has had their roots from Terry’s Bistro. They had previously launched their brand of Sangria w/c was named Lolea. Cute polka dotted bottles of red and white that comes in white sangria or red sangria. It was presented to us by Sir Hugo and depending on the meal and time of day there would be a switch of preference between white and red sangria.Aside from their wonderful Red and white Sangria (P725 for bottle and the petit cute 330ml bottle cost P190).We also had their wonderful delicious meals of Spanish cold cuts, and cheese platter 100g (P395), Chopi Frittos P310, Croquettas de jamon serrano pollo y setas silvestres 4pcs(P295), The hanging tapas (Terry’s Butifara sausage P345, Piggy High P345, EL Buey Feliz P345), The perfect tortilla with Gambas al Ajillo (P380), Bistro Madrid Gran Paella (P650) Patorillo Caldereta P380, and lamb shank in hilindron sauce P650.The Spanish cold cuts and cheese platter was a wonderful beginning to a roller coaster of taste buds that Bistro Madrid offers. It gives the authentic Spanish meat and cheese with exploding flavors and umami complementing each other. The savory meat paired with the saltiness of cheese together with croutons is just amazing. The Hanging tapas were such a splendor to look at and you can’t resist not to picture it. Metallic skewer suspending your meat vertically while there’s a little dish underneath that’s either sautéed beans, fried potatoes or stew. The meat was majestic, truly authentic Spanish style cooked meat packed with umami. There's also the flying pig thats placed on top of a pig sculptyre with the back burning looking like it was rocketing to fly. It was aesthetically pleasing and delicious. The Paella was packed with toppings of mushroom, tomatoes, baby squids, mussels, tuna belly & chorizo. It’s your regular authentic Spanish paella great for rice lovers like us pinoys. Next was the lamb shank in Chilindron Sauce. It’s the Spanish equivalent of our crispy pata only that it falls off the bone and drenched in wine and olive oil. It’s the main highlight of our visit and a crowd favorite.Favorites: Lamb Shank, Hanging tapas, cold cuts platter, Sangria.Food 4/5 – Most of the food was delicious and authenticService 4.5/5- Service was on point and we got served amenities even without asking.Price 4/5- Price is a little steep but worth the expense!Ambiance 4/5 – Ambiance has a nice gloomy vibe perfect for having dinner or having a date inside.

There are very few things that I find more satisfying than having a leisurely cocktail before noon. My recent visit to BISTRO MADRID (Formerly Café Madrid) at Estancia Mall, Pasig provided just that, with the introduction of LOLEA Sangria. As a bonus, the drinks came alongside bouts of nostalgia brought about by some of the best Spanish food I’ve had in the Philippines.
