I am now a frustrated website. Ever since I left Kapitolyo, I hardly explore. And I found out last week that there are around 5-7 new restaurants in Kapitolyo. SEVEN! I really have to explore this weekend! Anywaaaay, a few weeks back, I went to Spice & Cleaver and while waiting for R, I spotted a new bakery named Artisan Emporium and I decided to check it out.Hello, Artisan Emporium. The new bakery was just 2 days old when I visited and the first thing that caught my eye was the display chiller on the counter. They have salted caramel, chocolate and red velvet panna cotta (PHP180/jar). I wanted to get chocolate but the staff recommended red velvet. Thinking that R prefers red velvet, I bought that one instead. And I totally forgot about it till three days later.I was a bit iffy to try the panna cotta since it’s no longer fresh and could have gone bad since it also melted. But to our surprise, it was still okay. The texture was perfect. It wasn’t too soft and it wasn’t hard as well. It wasn’t overly sweet and the taste was not overpowering as well. The creamy base and lovely red velvet crumbs were delightful and a perfect sweet way to cap our meal.I can’t wait to try the other flavors and its breads.

The #CertifiedBloggers were invited by Chef Mira Cruz for an intimate food tasting afternoon at her newly opened restaurant Artisan Emporium in Estancia Mall at Capitol Commons. The first thing I noticed about the place is it's simplicity. It exudes a warm and intimate ambience. Cozy. Not intimidating. It's a place where you would like to have a relaxed conversation with a loved one over a cup of coffee, enjoy lunch with friends or have a me-time with a slice of cake.

I find it a bit ostentatious as the breads and pastries don't even taste that good to the extent that they cost too much. I actually find it normal, nothing special or whatsoever except for the fact that they're freshly baked.Didn't have the time to try their dishes except for the loads of bread and pastries we bought home.

You piqued my interest with artisan bread but failed to deliver. I know that a single purchase is not enough to make a verdict but consider this: I asked how long the pan de coco would keep and they said 4 to 5 days. Hmmm, that's a long time for artisan bread. I bit into it and saw a strand of hair but no coco. I returned the bag for a fresher batch. The bread was tough and dry and the coco? Was a nono.

Beside our restaurant is this upscale bread place. It's like Pan de Manila upgrade- that includes price too. Their Pan de Coco which I shared with mom is Php 20 each. It's delicious and full though so that's okay. It's my second time here. From last visit they changed from all bread and added cakes. I got to try the sweetest cake ever- their Black Forest. Sweet here means not good. It didn't even tasted like one. What's good and you should try is their Chicken Galantina sandwich. Meat incorporated well, juicy and full of flavor. It comes with spiced gravy which makes it even better.

Interesting bread selections from ube custard to malunggay pandesal. It's a "sosyal" pan de manila with an array of signature bangus in oil, peanut buter and tinapa flakes in oil.Cakes are also available if you need more sweets than what those eye candy passing by on a Sunday afternoon.Seating is a bit of a challenge considering there's a beauty products stall across it.Got to try the cheesecake, dense and not too sweet. Then the custard cake was ok (eventhough my sis-in-law swears by it) but I find the sponge cake a bit too dry.

I tried a slice of Smores cake as it looked like it was the most popular cake they had, ie. it only had 4 portions left - the wisdom of tribes has to be right, right? It was okay, the base was yummy, partnered by the crunch of the graham crackers was really good and provided a good interplay of textures. The downside was, you have to be nifty with a knife and fork to really enjoy each components of this cake. I think this should best be taken home and enjoyed at the comforts of your tatty duster and the slice be picked apart by your bare hands. Since we opted to dine in and the only available dining areas are along the mall area of Capital Commons, I had to be on my best behavior. Tip: This shouldn't be ordered on a first date! Its like ordering crab or lobster and be expected to use utensils.

Bought a whole red velvet cake and mannn it did not disappoint. It is super moist and tastes perfect! The cake is bigger than the standard red velvet cake size in the market.

The custard cake is divine. Love it! The dulce de leche is also good. The ensaymada is so-so. I suggest you buy it on their buy 1 take 1 promo. haha!

After eating at a nearby restaurant, we bought some bread to take home. We bought a cheese roll and a loaf of ham and cheese bread. I have to say the bread is really soft. But we can barely taste the ham and cheese. And I think a loaf costs around 250php - steep price for just a loaf of bread.
