I am now a frustrated website. Ever since I left Kapitolyo, I hardly explore. And I found out last week that there are around 5-7 new restaurants in Kapitolyo. SEVEN! I really have to explore this weekend! Anywaaaay, a few weeks back, I went to Spice & Cleaver and while waiting for R, I spotted a new bakery named Artisan Emporium and I decided to check it out.Hello, Artisan Emporium. The new bakery was just 2 days old when I visited and the first thing that caught my eye was the display chiller on the counter. They have salted caramel, chocolate and red velvet panna cotta (PHP180/jar). I wanted to get chocolate but the staff recommended red velvet. Thinking that R prefers red velvet, I bought that one instead. And I totally forgot about it till three days later.I was a bit iffy to try the panna cotta since it’s no longer fresh and could have gone bad since it also melted. But to our surprise, it was still okay. The texture was perfect. It wasn’t too soft and it wasn’t hard as well. It wasn’t overly sweet and the taste was not overpowering as well. The creamy base and lovely red velvet crumbs were delightful and a perfect sweet way to cap our meal.I can’t wait to try the other flavors and its breads.

The #CertifiedBloggers were invited by Chef Mira Cruz for an intimate food tasting afternoon at her newly opened restaurant Artisan Emporium in Estancia Mall at Capitol Commons. The first thing I noticed about the place is it's simplicity. It exudes a warm and intimate ambience. Cozy. Not intimidating. It's a place where you would like to have a relaxed conversation with a loved one over a cup of coffee, enjoy lunch with friends or have a me-time with a slice of cake.

I find it a bit ostentatious as the breads and pastries don't even taste that good to the extent that they cost too much. I actually find it normal, nothing special or whatsoever except for the fact that they're freshly baked.Didn't have the time to try their dishes except for the loads of bread and pastries we bought home.

You piqued my interest with artisan bread but failed to deliver. I know that a single purchase is not enough to make a verdict but consider this: I asked how long the pan de coco would keep and they said 4 to 5 days. Hmmm, that's a long time for artisan bread. I bit into it and saw a strand of hair but no coco. I returned the bag for a fresher batch. The bread was tough and dry and the coco? Was a nono.

Beside our restaurant is this upscale bread place. It's like Pan de Manila upgrade- that includes price too. Their Pan de Coco which I shared with mom is Php 20 each. It's delicious and full though so that's okay. It's my second time here. From last visit they changed from all bread and added cakes. I got to try the sweetest cake ever- their Black Forest. Sweet here means not good. It didn't even tasted like one. What's good and you should try is their Chicken Galantina sandwich. Meat incorporated well, juicy and full of flavor. It comes with spiced gravy which makes it even better.
