Whenever I search for new resto to try out at blue bay walk here in website, I've been eyeing on this one. The ostrich farm! But every time we're on the location we fail to search for this, as resto is quite small. Sunday night after hearing a Mass in Baclaran church. My bf and I went to blue bay walk to buy his shoes and other stuffs for myself at tiangge. He asked "where do you wanna eat, you want Tsukemen again? Burrito? Or kebab? I replied "I don't know.... I've been looking for the ostrich farm whenever we're here but I can't find it" .. "Let's ask the guard" Thank you Kuya guard!!Who knew that this resto is a good one. Yup it is small but the interior is so dainty :) People here are so friendly and give smiles to you. Big serving and it was so good! Thumbs up!

I'm kind of loving the country-feel it tries to in vibe their diners with. It's a small restaurant perfect for having that quiet talk and eating with your buds. Their menu is straight-forward and most of it's options highlight ostrich meat, making the joint really unique. It's not my first time to eat ostrich meat as we had it when we went to Gensan and when I had the Northern Mindanao Familiarization tour with the Philippine Tourism Board. Apparently, an ostrich farm is present in Cagayan de Oro, to educate tourists and locals alike, breeding and consuming them like poultry. So it's not like we're putting the ostrich to extinction when we think of eating them like turkeys. They are the newest farming innovation and many benefits can be claimed from raising them.If you aren't adventurous as we are (Bhogs and I), you can opt to have burgers and rice meals made not of ostrich meat. As you can see in the menu, Burgers are of Angus, regular beef and of course ostrich. But the experience would be a bit senseless right so why not get your taste buds explore. Let me share first what I had. It's probably one of the best Adobo that I've tried next to my Papa's recipe that is or probably even better, oh there, I'm confused!TOF Adobo with Garlic Confit is a must to order.Get ready to have your mouth suffer the consequence of having garlic-breath. But I didn't mind, thus I'm ready for any vampire attacks. Confit, btw, is the slow, low temperature cooking of an item in oil. Confiting garlic brings out the sweetness of garlic and also takes away any acridness. The result is soft and creamy garlic cloves that spread easily on bread. Needless to say that if you're feeling under the weather, garlic is a great way to boost your immune system and this is the most delicious way to have it over the capsule form.Might I say all the good treats and taste gotten from "confitting" the garlic was obviously a delight with this dish. A serving has slices of fresh tomatoes and boiled egg all over a cup of rice.Bhogs had the TOF Macho Burger, well, not that he's trying to be macho and all but I found the name interesting, "malay mo maging matcho nga sya kakakain nito, hehehe."The ostrich patty that made this burger up was savory and seasoned enough to his taste, we also were asked for his choice of sauce to go with the burger and chips. He had Bleu cheese sauce.

A stroll at Blue Bay Walk led us to The Ostrich Farm. The small restaurant is not easily spotted as it is located between two giant establishments and covered with a pillar. It is located beside Kimono Ken. It is your local burger joint that serves ostrich meat. They also have beef variant, but of course, I have to try their specialty. Ostrich meat tastes almost the same as beef, it looks like it too, but it has more protein content, less in calories, and more expensive.I ordered their Mushroom Burger with Ostrich, served with barbecue flavor fries and unlimited ketchup and cheese dip. I like the size of the burger and when eaten together like a regular burger, the combination of flavors was good. The meat was flavorful and tender. When eaten with a knife and fork, it does not have that much enjoyment. Mushrooms, caramelized onion, ostrich patty, cheese equals a perfect burger. Although the fries are equally good, a little disappointing to see that they used MSG, which I feel they don't need to.Aside from the burger, I also tried their cheese balls. I was disappointed with this because I was really looking forward to it. The outer crust was super hard that even a fork had a hard time poking through it. The filling is cheesy and milky, but at the same time, there was too much flour. The cheese balls also came with a nacho dip, but the flavor can hardly be tasted. If I come back, maybe I can try other burger variants and their pasta, but definitely not those cheese balls.

If you are looking for something that taste a lot like beef but has leaner meat or just something a little more exotic than the usual meat we get to eat, well then i suggest you try some ostrich meat for a change.Let me tell you a little about ostrich meat, compared to other meats, ostrich meat contains lower sodium and has higher iron content compared to other red meats in the market. That is why this meat is much more recommended for people with anemia or hypertension. It is also recommended for people who would want to eat something good and have a healthier substitute for beef.Anyway, I used to work nearby and wanted to try this place out. I read a bad review about how slow the food service was, so I decided to wait a few more months before trying this place out. The first thing i noticed when i went inside was the simplicity of the place. Their concept seems to be involved in farm food, so they vamped the place up a little to give you that slight farm feel.As for the food, they serve burgers, salads, fries, chips, pastas, viands and so on. I only got to try one of their burgers that day though for merienda. I ordered BIG BIRD BURGER which was composed of BLT, pickles, caramelized onions, chill con carne and mushrooms. You can choose your own patty if you want it beef or ostrich. Beef is (Php 238) and Ostrich is (Php 428). Beef is quite common already so i chose ostrich instead. The burger was served with fries and cheese sauce. The burger was delicious, but the chili con carne however wasn’t chili at all, more like sweet to me though but still paired up pretty well with the other ingredients. The fries was good too, kind of reminds me a bit about KFC fries, but not soggy and had cheese flavours added to it.For the drinks, I ordered STRAWBERRY MILKSHAKE, which wasn’t super sweet but was actually quite good too. I'm quite used to creamy milkshakes, but this wasn't super creamy at all. When you have a sip of it, It doesn’t leave you with that “umay” feeling. All in all, i enjoyed the food i ordered and i will definitely go back to try the other food on the menu.

We love burgers. So when we learned that there is such a thing as "ostrich burger" we immediately decided to check the place out. We ordered the garden salad, mushroom ostrich burger & detox water. The salad was great! Just right for my taste. The ostrich burger was juicy and light. No funny aftertaste as what the others mentioned. It doesn't taste like beef, chicken, pork or even duck. The detox water was a bit expensive. But after seeing that there were plenty of fruits infused, I guess it was kinda worth it. The restaurant has a homey feel, with cute interiors. The staff was attentive and courteous. Will definitely be back here to try their other burgers.

GOOD.The place is very accessible. The place is small but plenty of space. The decor is simple but beautiful. It's a really good place to eat and chill. It's also exceptionally clean. The employees are extremely accommodating and professional. So far the best service I've experienced. My glass never became empty hahaha 😄The food is affordable. The portions are more than enough for me. The plating was beautiful. It took a little too long for them to serve the food tho but it's okay. The taste was alright. I didn't eat any ostrich meat cause i felt bad for the ostrich. 😔

We decided to have a quick snack before heading to celebrate my friend's birthday in Timog. We saw the 8 peso promo for the chicken wings and without a second thought ordered 35 pieces. To our surprise, the chicken wing is smaller than we have expected. Apparently, it is just one chicken wing cut into three. Thus, the 8 peso promo. Flavor-wise, it's very good! It's honey barbecue flavor with a ranch dip. There are other on going promos, but they have a policy that we can't combine promos. And since we already ordered the chicken wings, we can no longer avail the birthday blow out. A bit disappointing though, but they have it on tiny texts on their posters. Will I come back? Maybe. But just to try the ostrich burgers.
