Swayed by the high website rating, I decided to eat here with my family in this restaurant for my birthday.  I just created an account to say that this restaurant is ABSOLUTELY NOT deserving of its 4.5 rating.  In fact, I don't even think it should be allowed to operate in the first place given such God-forsaken state the restaurant was in.First off, FLIES.  My expectations came crashing down once I saw those flies buzzing about the restaurant.  I don't think people would be comfortable sharing their food with pesky flies, no?  As if that were not bad enough, I also saw a BUG on the strawberry gelato! (Hoping people who ate some gelato that day did not get food poisoning) Second, service staff was rather terrible. While I do acknowledge them trying to accommodate my concerns, why do they look so nonchalant as if everything was going fine and there weren't any a number of flies disrupting the customers?  Furthermore, one of the staff just casually took a chair from our table without asking any permission. Really? Isn't it considered common etiquette to ask the person currently occupying that table if the chair was taken?Third, the layout was not thoroughly planned.  The restaurant was very crowded with uneven spacing that it was cumbersome to go back to my table.Last but not least, the food was so-so and was rather limited.  I came out of the restaurant with plenty of room to spare. Honestly, if it weren't for delicadeza, I would have walked out from the restaurant when I saw those flies.Call it an isolated incident and whatnot, but shouldn't every restaurant uphold cleanliness above all else?  This was such a preposterous experience and great disservice to me and the customers. To all people reading this review, I earnestly ask that you reconsider your decision and eat at another restaurant.

Food and service was great. Just wished that service could have been quicker so that the time wouldn't be wasted waiting for food to come

I don't think you will lack for anything - fresh seafood cooked whichever way you want, heaps of meat (the carving table is overflowing with roasted and grilled beef, pork, chicken, duck), breads and cheeses, international cuisines also represented (European, Italian, Japanese, Chinese and more.Juices, cocktails, tea and coffee also available (soda is extra). The desserts, oh wow! The bread pudding was amazing, just rendered me speechless. Pies, cakes, mousses and gelato are plentiful, perfect in ending your belly-busting meal. The Marriott cafe's Sunday brunch is definitely worth every peso. Come with your family, a perfect way to spend Sunday morning. :)

our favorite ♡Especially on Saturdays - freshest of the fresh seafoods = live crabs, cooked any way we like.We love their prawns in chili garlic or gambas style.Steamed lapu lapu fish (chinese style) or even just fried pampano... and they also have "make your own" kilawin.Btw, they also have curacha! And of course, steak ♡ beef rump for the win!

One of the reasons why Hubby and I used to love staying at Marriott was their breakfast buffet. It was one of our fave breakfast buffets but in our most recent stay, we were quite disappointed. We woke up early, as is usual for us whenever we’re staying at a hotel since we don’t want to join the crowd when having breakfast. So we were still quite groggy from a late night and we just wanted to sit down, have our coffee and breakfast, then go back to sleep. Sadly, Marriott Cafe’s receptionist wouldn’t let us in the dining area. We arrived 6:15am thinking that breakfast was served at 6am and we were being asked to wait at the lobby until it was 6:30am to try again. It would’ve been acceptable if we didn’t see that they seated some guests in already. The other guests might’ve not been eating yet and just waiting for the time the buffet would be ready but isn’t it supposed to be a standard that you treat all guests the same? To think that we have loyalty membership with Marriott and we were the ones being turned away. We pointed out the other guests and we were eventually seated because of that. We were served our coffee then subsequently told that buffet was then open. The experience dampened our mood and we weren’t able to enjoy our breakfast much and hubby’s not very happy to the point of saying that he doesn’t want to go back again. Food was ok but not as good a spread as before. Would’ve welcomed some Chinese dimsums. Juices and cereals variety were ok. Chicken Tocino’s color was a bit unnatural, not very appetizing for me. Fried Danggit and Pusit were very good. Cooked well, crispy and thin. Just a tad bit bitter on some overcooked ones but generally ok. Ambiance was on point. Servers were polite and nice but would’ve been a plus point if they serve or offer water without having to request for it time after time.Update 10/11/21:Update after a couple of years. We availed of their Monday Lunch Buffet promo, service was superb! It was a sit down meal where you order all u want from the buffet spread. We were pampered and the attention of the staff were great. Food was also great! Definitely something we’d recommend.
