This is one of my family’s favorite restaurants at Newport! Their grilled chicken is really really good. I know it sounds “basic”, but it would surprise you how tasty it is. :) We also love their Bucket of Mussels! Overall - we highly recommend this restaurant.PS. We also orderded the Poke Bowl, but I did not like the texture of the rice in the bowl (but the seafood was fresh and good!) so maybe i just ordered the wrong rice with it (kimchi rice).

Ive been here twice, some of the foods were good but others were too sweet for a meal. I love their ahi tuna pineapple poke🐟 but not their iced tea✌🏻Also try their honey garlic shrimp! Its delicious! The prices of the foods are good!

Tried their lunch sets available until 5PM. From 300-400 a set it seemed like a good buy. Portion sizes are just good for 1 person. The ribs were good. Looked like it was boiled to tender then grilled. Got myself a seared tuna omelette. It was pretty good, wish there were more tuna. The salmon-tuna poke bowl was a big disappointment. It was literally raw fish on rice. It’s definitely not Japanese rice like it was written on the menu. I like the renovation. It looks more colourful and open now. The mall had set up a show in the courtyard. While we made sure to leave before it started, the music from there was just way too loud, even as we sat inside the restaurant.

It's a quaint place at rw. Place is clean but the ambiance isn't what I call memorable. Servers are nice and friendly but the food takes forever to arrive. Food wise, servings are very generous but taste is pretty normal and not at all memorable.

Missed one order for out party of six; the server did not correctly interpret our instruction to remediate the error. Things were not handled very well.

A venture of the Red Crab group, this Hawaiian-themed place serves decent and fresh seafood. All the seafood we got were good but after a while everything kind of tastes the same. The Poke bowl was the memorable one. Chicken and the nachos were good. The flavors are not something you'd taste anywhere (a good thing!). Very unique. Also, they have platters that are good to share. And because it was my little sister's birthday, she got a free cake!

If you're looking for a restaurant with yummy food and great service, this is the place to be. We tried their shrimp and it tasty and crunchy in texture. We also had salad that was delicious as well. Two thumbs up!

Food was good but pricey. Loaded with rice. Place gets full. Nothing else to say when your food arrives after 45 minutes. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye.

In Hawaiian surfer slang, Ainokea roughly translates to "I don't care" or "I couldn't care less than I already do". I suppose this applies to my experience at Johnny Kahuku's - pretty much hit or miss.Went with my daughters, and we ordered the salmon soba poke, seafood poke, and a couple of kids' meals (chicken and rice, and burger with fries).Burger Meal: The fries sucked - no taste on its own and smelled like tofu (I think it was the uncooked flour from the batter they coated it with). The texture was soggy and there were even some that were partially uncooked. The burger had a delicious smoky grilled taste sandwiched between toasted brioche, and was perfectly sized for the kids (sliders).Chicken Meal: Hawaiian fried rice was okay, glazed fried chicken was also good. Macaroni salad was so-so (in fact the kids refused to eat it).Poke: Both poke ordered was quite good. The seafood poke was served with crisp taro chips which the kids loved. The salmon soba poke was served cold with soba noodles, tofu, mushroom. A hint of sesame flavor and a little kick of chili rounded out this dish.Final verdict: not really in a hurry to return. Service was good but the price does not justify the quality of the food.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in the Philippines! I usually don't eat seafood, but I absolutely can at Johnny Kahuku's. The food is so good and flavourful. Just the way they serve the food makes me hungry! They also serve the best Tempura! See you soon again Johnny Kahuku's!
