For the longest time, we've put off trying Rodrigo's for two reasons: one, we usually go to Fat Butchik's to get our meat fix; and two, my brother-in-law is quite capable in the smoking and grilling department. But tonight, we wanted to try something new, so we finally stopped procrastinating and headed to Rodrigo's.Inside, the food joint is pretty small, it could maybe fit around 30, 35, tops. Also, there's this persistent smell that hangs around (kind of like your grandma's old trunk) that they need to take care of, especially since they're in the business of food.We ordered the Bossman's Platter, which puts together 300 grams of US Angus roast beef, half a roast chicken, and six sides (and loads of gravy); plus some house iced tea. According to the menu, it's good enough for a family or barkada. Well, you better hope your children are grown and have already moved out, or that your barkada is made up of just two people. Not that it's not enough; it's just really good food, so you'll want fewer people around you to share with. The roast beef was very tender and well-seasoned. The nicely flavored chicken was almost, almost overdone, but still managed to stay soft. Both are able to stand without the need to lean on gravy, which is a good thing especially because the gravy was a tad salty. The side salad portion was very satisfying, and I liked how crunchy the greens were. I was just a bit surprised that they put processed cheese in there aside from the usual Parmesan. I prefer my mashed potatoes just a tad chunkier than theirs, although it delivered on flavor. And the corn and carrots were, well, corn and carrots.(Of the six sides, I only tried three because I don't like macaroni salad. And based on past experiences, coleslaw tends to be sweet, so I didn't have any of that, either. And then my sister said their rendition wasn't, so serves me right for not trying it before my brother-in-law polished it off. Also, I had to pass on the steak rice because I was getting full, but both my companions said it was very tasty.)The staff's also really nice, but aside from that smell, they could improve the ambiance by turning off the TV and playing some nice tunes instead. All things considered, Rodrigo's does know its meat, and I'm looking forward to being introduced to the rest of the menu.

I ate here on a lunch and i was the only customer. Even saw kuya sleeping on the couch haha. The place was small but very well ventilated. I ordered the Bossman's meal which includes roasted chicken, roasted angus beef, soup and salad. I've been craving to eat here because of the good reviews. So the salad was fresh and delicious because it had cheese and vinigrette. The roast beef and chicken was plain/normal for me and to be honest I was disappointed because my expectation was too high.

I admit that I relied on the reviews, hence, a trip for good eats was high on my agenda.Ordered the Bossman's Platter for a group of 4. It was quite disappointing. Beef was too salty, for our taste. Chicken was not as expected (based on reviews). Ambience is stuffy & small.Staff were quite friendly.

At first, we had a bit of a setback finding this place, just know that you have to go through stairs to get here. Once you get there, just order whatever you want and none of their choices would disappoint. The unlimited sides deal may seem a bit steep but worth taking a risk for if you enjoy eating a lot and having veggies to accompany each bite you take from the meat. Their roast beef and chicken are surely tasty especially if you're craving for meat that's flavorful. The format of the place may make you doubt your choice, but if you're someone who just wants to simply get distracted and indulge themselves in food, this is worth a try. For more pictures and reviews, please visit us at : bearslookingforfood.blogspot.com

Wen't to dine with some friends, the roast beef was flaky and the servings are small. Staffs were friendly though. It was kind of expectation vs reality thing.
